Literally 1000s of dead flies and still going strong....BRILLIANT!
WOW! This was one of those purchases where I wasn't convinced it would work but was desperate enough to give it a try and I'm not disappointed! Follow the instructions which are very straightforward - just unscrew and pop out the lid, fill with the specified amount of tap water, hang it up and watch with delight as all the flies trap themselves and sink to slow and hopefully agonising death. Very satisfying. Note: Give it a chance to work. You need to hang it near to but not too close to the source of the problem. For me, I find that in warm weather the flies like my kitchen and my rubbish bin outside the house which ends up with maggots. I hang this about 3 meters from the back kitchen door and that is also probably a similar distance to the wheelie bin. It says put in a bright sunny spot which I did. First few days seemed to be pointless but then once the putrid liquid started to give off its aroma, the flies have been coming thick and fast (away from my kitchen and bin) and into the trap. It's been hanging a few weeks now and seems to perform better with each passing day and (alarmingly?) is already about an inch deep of dead flies! BE WARNED....this smells like something that has died and is decomposing. When the wind catches it the stink is quite repulsive so you'll want this far away from areas you use a lot. Well worth buying if, like me, you loathe anything that pukes on your food after having a walk on some dog poo before sucking it back up through a straw.....

Works really well.
This works so well!! I can see flies flying around this and trying to get inside. My one small gripe would be that it appears to be quite difficult for the fly to get inside and sometimes they give up, but I guess that's necessary so that it is even harder for them to escape. It did take over 24 hours to start working, which is longer than stated on the instructions but it works so well. I've got it a short distance from my back door in the hope that flies go to that instead of into my house and does appear to help with that. I'd highly recommend. Edit: Just adding that a month later the trap is still working, I've topped it up with water a couple of times but it's definitely still attracting flies. Only thing is it now stinks so I'll be getting rid of it pronto and getting another one!

Good product - double edged sword
These work well, but be warned they work too well. They attract flies to the area you want to get rid of them. We found that placing it away from the affected area actually works better it will attract them away from where you want. If you place right where you want it to be fly free. It won’t work ad the chemicals attract ~millions of flies because it is so strong. Effective, but too effective!

What’s going on?
I don’t get it? I bought one of these last summer and I was amazed. Within 48 hours of filling it with water it had caught 2-3 flys.... by the end of the summer the contents of this bottle were enough to make your stomach turn as it had caught probably a hundred flies and the liquid was literally black with floating dead flies. I thought to myself, “what a fantastic invention!” So ordered a couple more for this year. The weather started warming up a week or so ago, and I noticed the odd flu buzzing around, so thought I’d bring out the big guns and hang up a fresh one of these traps. It’s now been a week and it hasn’t caught a single fly?? What’s going on? This thing worked exceptionally last year, and now it’s not working at all? Have the manufacturers changed the law hid stuff inside it? Something is definitely different? Anyone had a similar experience? I’ll give it a couple more days, but if nothings changed it will be heading for the bin. Shame, as last years “model” deserved 11/10 for how well it worked. This years variant is worthy of a 0/10 at the moment

7 months & still catching flies
I put this trap on the fence last August bank holiday after trying lots of different traps etc. It’s about 6feet from the ground & about the same from the utility door. we get quite a few flies from the dog kennels next door on the other side of the fence & they’re always in the kitchen & utility in the warm weather. I put about 3 inches of water in it, gave it a bit of a shake & left it to do its thing. I didn’t notice any flies for the first few days & the smell didn’t seem very strong however after about a week it started attracting flies & has gone from strength to strength since & is still catching a lot in March!! I’ve had to top the water up regularly in hot weather but I just add about an inch each time. It’s still working really well, especially during this warm spell ( it’s on a west facing fence & once the sun hits it the flies head straight for it) As you can see from the photos it’s getting a bit full so I’ve just order a couple more for myself & family members who’ve been impressed with it. I hope they last as long as this one because the info says they last about 4 weeks. I’d deffo recommend these if you’re troubled with flies, it does seem to work better once the sun warms it up a bit so bear that in mind when you put it up.

Does the job in the short term!
This fly trap is effective and we were able to stop a lot of flies from entering the house, however if you are looking to stop them totally this doesn't, it merely reduces the number of flies entering the house. We left it outside for a few weeks however it soon started to give off quite an unpleasant odour and really attracted a lot of flying ants causing swarms of them outside our house. It has now been removed and the problem subsided. Overall a good short term fix but not to be used for more than a few weeks.

Excellent at keeping flies and wasps away from the house
Can't speak more highly of this fly Trap... Works to keep flies well away from your home or area... Ensure you don't hang this near your windows or open door, or the flies will be attracted there.. keep it at least 15 feet away if possible.. and you'll never see another fly or wasp in your home. Do remember this fills up with flies very fast.. within one week in summer you can have hundreds of flies in the trap which will create a real stink. Another reason to keep the trap away from your open window or door. The fly trap needs to be disposed of in a bag and into your refuse bin.. and or emptied out in a safe place like a compost heap and buried, and the Bait renewed. I recommend always throwing the whole thing out... and replacing every 4 weeks in summer . You'll wonder what you ever did without this if you live anywhere where flies and wasps are a problem

At last a way to control the flappy little gits
This thing is great, we have had a huge influx of flies around the house this year, I even got a new record with my oven glove, 4 flies in one swipe, great fun but it wears off and soon because very irritating so I needed to find a way to try and think them out with no effort. I had read about some of these type traps and the main thing was that they seemed to stink, most people said they work but keep them away from your house as the smell is almost as bad a problem as the flies. No such problem with this, upon adding water you get a kind of yeasty/beery smell. Like a stale ale left out in the sun, but that is only if you actually sniff it, once it has been located you can't smell it at all. So on to performance, simply AWESOME, I made mine up at night and so there was no flies around, I left it outside by the back door overnight and kind of forgot about it. When I left for work at 7AM I heard a buzzing, looked down and there was already multiple flies in there, at least 6 of them and sounding really angry. Two days in there must be over 100 in there, they just keep on coming and dying. (photo is from 1 day!!) Brilliant piece of kit, I am going to get a second one for the back door and another for near our wheelie bins. Highly Recommended

Tut was es soll
