I didn't buy this to use for my hair. I bought it after seeing someone use it for twisting fringe on hand-woven scarves and shawls. It works a treat for this, and I recommend it highly for the easy-to-use clamps, which grip perfectly well on yarn. The double-direction feature makes it really easy to do Altogether a cheaper and easier alternative to use, than expensive hand-twisters (not much more than alligator clips on a bit of wood, sold by the different manufacturers of looms), which are fiddly and require a certain amount of manual dexterity.Huzzah!

Firstly, the screw on the battery compartment is very, very soft, so once you get hold of a screwdriver small enough to open it, be aware that you're only going to be able to loosen/tighten the screw two or three times before the screw head is completely worn away and will need to be replaced by another tiny screw or sticky tape. Secondly, the "clear polybands" are no better than tiny rubber bands, so avoid using them, as they will damage your hair badly. Thirdly, your hair is going to get tangled in this device, or knotted into itself when it pings away from the pegs. If you are patient and lucky, you will be able to unravel the resultant knots without cutting, but probably not if you have thick or course hair. Fourthly, the finished twisted "braids" are nowhere near as neat as manual plaiting can achieve, and all in all, takes about the same amount of time to achieve the finished style. Fifthly, don't waste your money on this item; if you need help plaiting your hair, there are plenty of 99p braiding aids available which do much less damage to your hair, your purse, and your sense of style.

I used this for the first time today. Ideal, if you can get somebody else to do it for you. However doing it yourself you feel as if you need three hands! Trying to use it in a mirror is awkward unless you’re used to styling your hair in a mirror. I’ve never used curling tongs and rarely use a hairdryer even, so trying to aim for the clips was difficult. I finally managed to clip sections from either side to do a partial ponytail/braid and the end result was worth the initial struggle. Unlike others who have commented I didn’t get my hair tangled at all and I’ll hopefully become more dexterous as I gain experience in using it

Honestly is doing the job for the money paid. I mean you buy the same one more expensive and is not worthit. Easy to use even for kids.

Cheap looking, but does what it says

I recently started crocheting blankets with a fringed edge and was cracking up making them by hand. This little device is perfect to use for this purpose with fantastic results.

Funktioniert einwandfrei. ich habe zwar nicht so gute Rezensionen gelesen, trotzdem gekauft und bin mit dem Kauf zufrieden. Wie lange es halten wird, weiß ich nicht, aber bis jetzt alles prima.
