Excellent.

Filters are easy to remove and clean and change but the unit itself has a plastic cover where the water runs out with lots of holes that builds up green scum and it ends up being more harm than beneficial. Best to clean out every three weeks make sure you buy a green plastic scourer to clean the plastic top it gets dirty quickly. Other than that a great filter, noise is very quiet, suction power is strong. Filters are a bit on the expensive side though and it says a month but I'd change filters every three weeks.

The cartridge system used within the filter doesn’t seem very effective as a lot of water seemed to flow over the cartridges rather than run through them while the need to change each cartridge monthly is expensive and environmentally wasteful. Every cartridge change also resulted in removing a huge amount of beneficial bacteria (held on it) from the tank.After a bit of research we “pimped” this filter and this has removed the need to use cartridges at all, this means our tank now retains the beneficial bacteria it has created. Our solution has been to add a layer of coarse, medium and fine foam horizontally to the bottom of the cartridge bay and then fill the remaining space with biohome filter media (in a fine mesh bags) on top of this we added a small layer of bagged activated carbon, this layer maybe unnecessary?. For us this has quadrupled the amount of beneficial bio-media held within the filter and has hugely improved the effectiveness of the filtration system, water is now forced to pass through each layer of foam and the bio-media to get through the filter. The filter has a great water intake system & we wanted to make use of it.We do need to rinse the foam and bio-media in old tank water (as opposed to purchasing and changing a cartridge monthly) so it is a few minutes more labour intensive, in exchange we feel we have a far more effective, stable and environmentally friendly tank. HappyUpdate: with this filter set up it’s totally fish safe, we have had absolutely no issues/deaths with endlers or neon tetras getting into the filter, it’s simply not possible

I had my original filter when I purchased my tank but my filter "died" last night and I had to order another one quickly. I was dismayed when I saw that it was fitted with an ordinary 3 pin plug as the one that came with the tank actually plugged into the tank lid and was SO easy to clean. I do not like this new system at all and cannot understand what Interpet are playing at! Why change something that worked perfectly for- in my opinion- an inferior model. I wish I could contact Interpet and ask them this question. The filter seems to be working okay but as an elderly disabled lady I naturally look for the easiest option, so am very disappointed in the change.

I have 3 of these now in each of my 64 litre tanks. Reason being that they are super quiet and excellent to customise, as an alternative to use their cartridges. Unlike another reviewer who used the 'pimp my filter' method of customisation to achieve better results, in my opinion, I have discovered that the manufacturers own cartridge system works better for crystal clear water, after trying both optionsOf course Interpet want you to buy their replacement cartridges which can make it expensive year on year, but the great thing about this filter is that you have the option to rearrange the media which works for you.My customisation stacked design is a course sponge, thin layer of floss, Matrix, then charcoal. However, I would suggest using the cartridges and take a picture of your tank after say, after a week. Then, when the cartridges need to be replace, customise it, take a picture a week later and compare the two. All other tank factors being equal, I think you will find water clarity with cartridges is notably better. It surprised me, although I'll carry on using both methods for my own reasons.With either method, I think you will be pushed to whether or not, you would acheive full nitrogen cycle in 64 litres, but responsible fish keepers would control unwanted elements with water changes anyway.I achieve average 10ppm nitrate. I also have a sponge filter in my tanks for aeration and taking care of the lower level water column.I can recommend this filter without hesitiation. Its quiet, excellent flow rate, customisable, good quality, 'does what it says on the tin'

These are an absolute go to. I am not a fan of the choir refills but as someone who has been keeping tropical fish for a while I don't need them anymore. I prefer to fill it with my own media. I have had many kinds of filter, these are cheaper on the scale and when more expensive ones have gone wrong I come back to these. Impeller replacement however I didn't realise was maintenance so keep an eye out for that.Why did you choose this product over others?:Known and trusted filter type

Received broken and rattling, corrodes quickly.

This filter is a direct replace for the "I love pets" aquariums sold by Pets at home in UK, the original filter with the 12 volt power head lasted for years (4+ years if memory serves) , this CF2 mains powered 240 volt replacement was relatively quite at first, but within couple of months became so noisy, and with the noise the flow power declined, cleaning made no difference, so I replaced it with a Fluval U3 but sadly while it has a way more powerful flow, it too has issues, as once the filter media got relatively dirty/full it would become noisy and if it wasn't cleaned shortly there after would stop all together (this is really bad), not sure if my unit is just a lemon, the only benefit was once cleaned the quiet returned... that said 2 and 1/2 years later U3's Impeller is done and replacement parts (suspected the Impeller shaft was always duff) cost a ridiculous £39 an U3 media is way more expensive than the CF2 to boot... hence why I'm looking at the CF2 again... but despite 2 years passing the short cord, noisy operation, low flow issues are still reported for CF2, so I'm not sure if its worth the gamble. If interpret fixed the CF2 issues I'd gladly pay ~£40 for the CF2 , as filter media option wise its probably better than the Fluval U3.

Excellent filtre à effet cascade.Le filtre fonctionne bien pendant quelques jours, mais il devient ensuite saturé et finit par perdre beaucoup de débit. Les filtres séparés sont faciles à nettoyer.

Fantastic, highly recommend. I have the CF2 (and 3) I use this CF2 in a 65L tank (14 minnows & danios) water is clean, cyrstal clear and healthy. I would say the CF2 would be too big for a tank smaller than that depending on inhabitants. Im not an expert. (I bought seperate inserts and filters/pads etc they are cheap and help with water conditioning). Highly recommend.

Le cambie el agua antes de ponérselo y no ha durado ni una semana el agua y esta que no se ven ni las tortugas de lo que no filtra nada. POR CIERTO EL ENCHUFE ES AMERICANO, de los de tres conectores y me ha tocado comprar un adaptador a enchufe europeo para nada

La prise USA d'origine est facilement remplaçable par une prise FR qui coûte quelques euros (5 vis pour récupérer les deux fils d'origine) ou l'achat d'un adaptateur.Cette pompe est un peu volumineuse et le bruit est correct. Pas trop de bruit mais pas non plus inaudible, après j'ai 4 autres pompes qui tournent autour.Les filtres sont simples à changer et elle est mise en route que depuis hier soir donc pas encore assez de recul pour savoir l'efficacité. Je pense que les filtres d'origines peut être remplacé par n'importe quoi car c'est un compartiment différent de la pompe où ils sont logés donc possibilités de mettre que des masses filtrante ou mousse etc...Acheté pour moins de 8 euros en pompe temporaire pour un 120 litres donc satisfait.
