ASPECTEK Professional Electronic Indoor Insect killer,Bug Zapper,Fly Zapper,Mosquito Killer,30W UV Bulbs for Home & Commercial Use (UK PLUG)

I have a very bad fly infection during the summer mostly and I needed a massive help so I decided on this product. It is costly and quite big although others review for smaller ones was saying it doesn't kill the flies. I live on the 4th floor flat and always seems to get flies. I've had enough. After suffering from choking sprays and dead flies everywhere, I needed a better solution. The pictures you see are from when I came home on the 1st day I received it. I got it delivered after 14:30 & came home around 22:30. As you can see, it is full of dead flies! So this is what I say about the product - *The tray does easily come out to clean and is easily cleaned. *I would recommend when you do hang it to not hang it over and area where you can't clean up. I wanted to put it high above a sofa chair that's near my balcony door. And as you can see, the flies didn't all stay in the tray. So I wouldn't want dead flies all over my cofa chair where I want to sit. *The product doesn't get hot to touch around the edges. Honestly, I had it on for hours and I was still able to touch and pick it up to put it somewhere else without having to wait till it cools. Although I would still say, double check the edges of your product just in case. I'm writing this review on the same day I got it. *It's leaves a glow in your room and feels like it heats up your room too lol *Oh, it kills all kinds of flies. I feel like a murderer and this thing will remind you that your a murderer because of the loud bang and white/red spark. Omg, everyone did say it has a loud bang but I didn't realise how loud it is. I'm deaf with 2 hearing aids and it makes me jump whenever I'm in the room with it. And that's when I know I've murdered a fiy. *My poor cat is scared off unfamiliar loud noises so be aware of pets that do have a problem with that. Hopefully I can help him through it. He doesn't run away and hide, just pops his head up and looks around. We live in an area that is loud anyways. So it will take some getting used too. Oh, it makes no humming sound at all. I do love it. It has helped me with my problem after 1 day of having it. I just need to find a good area in my flat to hang it up and if the flies don't all go in the tray at least it will go on the floor where I can easily hoover it up. That's what I did with the flies on the table and will need to give that a good scrub. Hope the pictures help.

Prior to this particular insect killer I had purchased a much more aesthetic version; if Dyson did insect killers it would have looked like the one I bought: square with elegantly rounded corners, a discrete UV light embedded within the frame and a nicely symmetric grid. You could hang it on the wall and it looked almost like a piece of art. Beautiful. But useless. It just didn't work. Not one fly died. So I went in the other direction and bought this. A perfect expression of brutalist, American industrial design: large, ugly and crass where function is the only consideration and form merely a four letter word .... This device has no end of design flaws. The materials are cheap, the power cord far too short and located for some bizarre reason at the top of the device rather than the bottom. The hanging chain looks like a complete after thought and positioned in such a way that if you do hang it on the wall (assuming you have a power socket at ceiling height in which to plug it) it will not hang flat but cantilevered away from the wall. So why 5 Stars? Because it WORKS. It does the one thing that it is supposed to do brilliantly - kills flies. Actually it kills everything foolish enough to come into contact with its overpowered electric grid: wasps, moths, hornets, midges... one touch and BANG! like the crack of Doom (and it really is amazingly noisy) another flying nuisance dies, or, at least fifty percent of the time, just explodes such is the power coursing through the grid. You can hear it clear across the house. The dog hates it, but after about one hour of being on all flies are dead. So if you want dead insects, buy this. You will not be disappointed.

We have had and continue to use these, but the lighting circuit tends to fail after a couple of years. There is a capacitor on the circuit board that blows. Easy fix if you can solder - £5 for a bag of 10. They are effective units and better than others we tried which also fail. You do need to replace the bulbs every 1-2 years - after a while they dim and lose the bug attraction. 4 stars due to dodgy capacitors. Most effective at night, so for some we have on timers to come on at sunset and off at dawn.

got handed to me personally by amazon and works perfectly fine. it's easily easy enough to set up and barely took a couple of minutes, it wasn't rocket science. it's nice and bright as well safe and large. it's the best description I can give and I hope it helps other buyers and the sellers/ delivery drivers. kind regards, Ryan.

Works very well indeed. Surprising the noise that it makes when a fly comes into contact with the electricity! But worth it and clearly effective.
