I’ve been very happy with the Blink Wired Floodlight Camera. The installation was straightforward, and the app made setup quick and easy. The floodlights are extremely bright and provide excellent visibility at night, while the HD video is clear during both the day and night. The motion detection is reliable, and I like that I receive alerts on my phone whenever movement is detected. Two-way audio works well, making it easy to communicate with visitors or delivery drivers. It also integrates smoothly with Alexa, which is a nice bonus. Overall, this is a great security camera for the price. It offers dependable performance, good image quality, and bright lighting that helps keep my property secure. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable and effective outdoor security camera.

Blink Wired Floodlight Camera My familiarity with Blink cameras is limited to the Blink Minis and the Blink Doorbell and the Sync Modules. I have been reluctant to purchase any of the battery powered outdoor cameras because I don't want to climb up on a ladder to constantly replace batteries. The Blink Wired Floodlight Camera is Blink's first outdoor camera that doesn't require batteries. I purchased the camera to replace an existing motion floodlight that had stopped working. The previous fixture was mounted to an outdoor 4-inch diameter electrical box--exactly what is required for the installation of the Blink product. That made installation and setup simple. After shutting the power off, I removed the old fixture and replaced it with the Blink assembly. Blink provided all of the necessary hardware including an S hook to keep the camera hanging while made the necessary connections. Once everything was in place, I powered up the camera and installed it into my existing Blink system using the app. Connecting with the app requires inputting the camera's serial number or scanning the QR code on the back of the camera. I've always scanned the QR code on the camera, but that code is also affixed to the front page of the Quick Start Guide--a nice alternative since scanning the back of camera would be difficult after mounting. Total install time including configuring the app took about 20 minutes. It's important to note that the camera uses the Wi-Fi 2.4GHz frequency which generally offers much better range than 5GHz. With 2.4 GHz, there's less attenuation of the signal as it passes through the interior and exterior walls of the building. That's probably why Blink uses 2.4GHz WiFi on all of its cameras. Some Blink outdoor cameras including my doorbells also use a lower 900 MHz band to connect to the sync module. This camera does not appear to have this function. It connects solely through your WiFi LAN. The camera's app settings are similar to other Blink cameras with the addition of floodlight control and some other goodies not seen in the other Blink models. The first is "person detection," flagged in the app as Beta. This is a welcome feature as it should filter out many unwanted motion alerts. In my case, I want to record animals as well as people strolling through my yard so probably won't use it for this location. Motion clip recording length is now up to 60 seconds, twice as long as my Blink Minis. The camera is equipped with two bright LED floodlights which can be aimed according to preference. When the camera detects motion after dusk, the floodlights come on or it can leave them off for a more stealth recording using only the night vision. The floodlights can also be set for continuous use, dusk to dawn. They can also be turned on and off from the live view screen, the thumbnail screen or with an Alexa command. Because the floodlights can be switched from an Alexa routine, you could set up these cameras around the exterior of your house and have them all come on when motion is detected by any camera. Another feature from the "more actions" screen during a live view is an audible siren. Presently, I have only been able to activate it from the app while in the live view mode. In the future, you may be able to set up an Alexa routine that would sound the siren when motion is detected on select cameras, such as an interior camera. Overall, the Wired Floodlight Camera fit my needs perfectly. It quickly mounted in my existing box and attached to my current Blink system, replacing floodlights and adding a camera. Picture quality is as good or better than my other Blink cameras. And, there are no batteries to change.

Context first: I already run three Blink cameras on a Sync Module 2, so this was a deliberate ecosystem add rather than a blind purchase. I installed it over my garage replacing a dumb motion-activated floodlight that had zero smarts and mediocre output. The wired installation took about 25 minutes — standard junction box mount, two wires, done. If you're comfortable replacing a light fixture you will not need an electrician. The 2600 lumen output is the spec that separates this from battery floodlight cameras and it earns its billing. At night with motion triggered, the coverage area is genuinely impressive — it illuminates my full two-car driveway and the approach path to the front door simultaneously with no dark edges. Ring's comparable wired floodlight cam ships at 2000 lumens; that 600 lumen delta is visible in side-by-side comparison and matters at the perimeter edges of the coverage zone where intruder detection actually happens. Video quality in full flood-lit conditions is excellent — sharp HD with accurate color rendering. The enhanced motion detection tuning in the app lets you draw specific activity zones, which eliminated the false triggers I was getting from passing cars reflecting light. Siren is legitimately loud at 100dB — not a deterrent in theory, an actual deterrent in practice. Alexa integration is seamless; "Alexa, show me the driveway" pulls the live feed to my Echo Show in under two seconds.

This is an awful product from an evidently awful company. DO NOT BUY A BLINK CAMERA. I purchased this during Prime Day at a significant discount, and it still turned out to be a ripoff. The physical installation was simple and took very little time to install. After installation, the app is supposed to connect to the new device. It requires the user to switch their phone to a proprietary Wi-Fi connection. It would not connect. I tried using the chat support tool. The AI tech could not assist so it transferred me to another tech who never responded. During the hour that I was on hold, I figured out the issue myself. I had a Surfshark VPN client running on the phone that the proprietary Wi-Fi evidently didn't like. Once I disabled the VPN, the app contacted the device. This could have been avoided if they would have simply added one line in the instructions that said, "Disable any VPN client during the next step". It is very common for people to be running VPN clients on their phone and computer systems. Once the device was set up, I looked at all the settings and only changed the switch to turn on the dusk-to-dawn option for the floodlight. Although it was dark outside (now that I was in the 4th hour of installation and setup), the floodlight was not coming on by itself. It would only power on when I manually turned it on in the app. I left it on and looked for any firmware updates. There were none available. I followed the troubleshooting steps which involved powering off the breaker leading to the floodlight/camera, closing/opening the app, etc.... I also noticed that the brightness setting did not work. I could move the slider in the app, but the floodlight brightness did not change. I tried using the chat app for support the next day and was left hanging by three different techs before I finally decided to call them. After being on the phone with a tech for an hour, he supposedly looked at it and updated the firmware. He didn't have a way to test the light, but I let him know that the brightness setting was still not working. He acted as if he didn't hear that part and said that I should wait until the sun goes down to see if the light is working now and if it is not, then I should call them back. The Blink app and their "customer support" systems are so poorly designed that it seems that they simply hope at some point you will give up and stop contacting them instead of actually resolving an issue. I typically use Wyze and Tapo products for cameras and floodlights, which are cheaper. but much better devices. I simply bought this brand because it looked like a good deal. I honestly don't understand how Blink can still be in business with their poor product and poor support. I have learned my lesson. I will never buy anything from Blink again. I will now have to spend even more to get a new Wyze or Tapo floodlight for my front door.

I have a couple blink doorbells and xr cameras. I really like they and they've been easy peasy to connect to my network. Enter the blink floodlight.. installation is easy, especially if you're replacing an existing floodlight like I was. The S hook that comes with it to hold the light while you connect the wires is brilliant. I was wondering how I'd pull that off while 12 feet on a ladder. Set up though.. almost the worst experience I've had. Almost. Ring cameras are far worse to get to play nice with networks. I moonlight as tech support for friends and family because I went to school for it but dislike customer service. And it took me foooorever to get it synced. What worked for me was turning off the 5g band on the router so that 2.4 was the only spectrum and also this sounds like a magic spell here but it's best to do it early morning or late night since that band is so busy. But finally that got it connected to the router and sync module. Then turn the 5g broadcast back on the router and samwise is your gardener. Now that aside, this camera is awesome! Great night vision and bright lights for the floodlight. Blink cameras go on sale throughout the year so for like 40 bucks the camera was a deal. Love that I can control the settings in the blink app instead of climbing a ladder and flipping switches like my old one. Also for all I know Blink customer service might be able to walk you through potential fixes if you're having problems. I'm just to stubborn to do that I'd rather troubleshoot for a couple hours instead of ask for help lol. So come to think of it I'm going to only deduct one star for it being frustrating, I'll give their customer service benefit of a doubt.

Glad I purchased this item. Compared it to the Blink Battery Floodlight Camera--and selected the wired version since the optimal location is 9 feet high---would require a tall ladder to change batteries. The Wired Version has brighter floodlights, and no need to ever change batteries. Because electrical wiring was needed, I elected to hire an electrician, and am glad that I did. Although it could be done DIY, the need for new wiring made that an easy decision for me. The electrician told me that he had the Ring version of this same product, and he told me that he thought my Blink Wired Floodlight Camera was higher quality than his Ring version. Pleased with the Blink system--now have multiple outdoor cameras. The Blink instructions through the app. are very thorough. But I would add that if you are installing new wiring for a new camera, that you will also need the Blink junction box that is not included. But the price is low, and also available on Amazon.

This is an interesting unit. It gets power from the house wiring rather than just plugging it in. It also attaches to a light housing bloc that's normally used for spotlights. The camera is a stationary camera and it doesn't have a slot for an SD card. You need to subscribe to the Blink recording service to get playback. The video feed to the app is very stable and clear. The sound is a lot like a feedback kind of noise. I suppose someone talking close by might sound like something real. The spot lights are very bright. They're supposed to be motion activated and I have them set to stay on for 15 minutes. It's summer and there's too much light to really test this right now. For what it is, it does very well. It's just different from all the other outdoor "security" cameras on Amazon.
