NordicTrack Speed Weights

These are great value if you need dumbbells and space. I have a home gym in my basement and these were exactly what we needed! The only "issues" I've run into are the plates when adjusting from 15lbs to 12lbs, sometimes the plates don't stay in their slots. Just make sure to pay attention when you readjust them BEFORE setting the dumbbells back in place. The other issue is the adjustment tabs. WATCH YOUR FINGERS. Sometimes they slip from my grasp and SNAP. It broke the tip of my nail off and bruised me a bit. GO SLOW. Don't let those dissuade you, however. They are truly amazing and will transform your workout!

The shipping is difficult - its a 100 pound box - so it gets beat up in shipping - the first shipment didn't arrive and amazon replaced the shipment. The weights them self are awesome - really nice with a tray to hold the dumbbells in - and the slider system (to add more weight) works like a charm. A really good product

I bought these for my husband for Christmas and they have been well worth the money! He uses them almost every day and hasn’t had any issues. Because of the number of different weights, I’ve been able to use them, as well. Very versatile, super easy to use and adjust the weights. We’ve been using extensively for over 5 months now and they still seem brand new. No wear and tear.

I'm a group fitness instructor who also exercises to workout DVDs at home. Currently I'm doing Chalean Extreme , and I purchased these because I needed weights heavier than what I had at the time (my weights range from 3 to 20 lbs.) After debating between the Bowflex SelectTech 552 Adjustable Dumbbells (Pair) and these, I ended up purchasing the latter (since they were cheaper). Unlike other reviewers, I've had no issues with mine. I've used the at least 3x per week since July. The dumbbells are sturdy and easy to use. Unlike the SelectTechs, which use a dial system, these use a pin selector (for the 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 lb. selections), and a small dial on the inside near the handle which adds 2.5 or 5 lbs. to the weights you select with the pin. However, I find the pin-and-dial combo to be a little cumbersome, especially when having to constantly change weights. Make sure that the pin is securely in the groove and that your dial is clicked into place before picking the weight up from the stand. Another con I have with these is with the handle, which is all plastic (no rubber grip). I have small hands, and find these somewhat hard to hold (even with lifting gloves on). Not only is this due to the lack of grip but also the handle is somewhat larger than my standard dumbbells. Also, the dumbbells are a bit on the bulky side IMHO. I recently purchased the SelectTechs, and noticed that the footprint is smaller (but as the weight gets lighter, the dumbbell is longer; with the NordicTracks, it's the opposite). Overall, this is a nice set of adjustable dumbbells that would be good for those, like myself, with limited space for heavier dumbbells. With my nitpicks aside, I would recommend them.

Husband loves these, uses them several times a week. He has even taken the weights off and put them in a backpack to do some conditioning. Easy to use, durable, comfortable to lift since the handles don't have the textured surface that can bite into your hands. Only problem I had was that I needed to open the box outside and bring them in separately because I couldn't lift the box! And we even used them the other day when I popped a vertebrae at the top of my thoracic spine and couldn't breath. Laid back on a foam roller, he set the weight on my chest, and then I hugged it while rotating from side to side. Snapped right into place and allowed me to inhale. So, so grateful we had these!

If I could give negative stars, I would. Like many other reviewers, one of my dumbbells was falling apart right out of the box. One head of the dumbbell is not securely fastened to the handle and slips around while working out. When the head slides away from the handle, the 2.5 LB plate increments fall out. While the dumbbell head hasn't fallen off the handle completely, I don't feel like risking even a 2.5 LB plate dropping on my head while I'm doing shoulder presses. This is extremely disappointing and POTENTIALLY MORBIDLY DANGEROUS if the entire dumbbell head were to land on someone's skull. THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE RECALLED. I would advise not wasting your cash on these hunks of garbage and spend your money on a different product that won't cause you a trip to the hospital. After reading other reviews, it sounds like the company doesn't do much in the way of customer service either, so I'm guessing I will be hauling these to the dumpster and cutting my losses. Incredibly upsetting from a NordicTrack product.

After figuring out how to use the weight adjustments, I am very pleased so far with the dumbell set. I have had no problems after using it for about 6 weeks. Take the time to read about using the set by googling for manual or other detailed information. The one page sheet that comes with the product is not detailed enough in my opinion.

The weight arrived alot faster than what i expected. I was very worried given i had read some negative reviews! The product seemed like everything I wanted, easy to use, sturdy, versatile! I have used it a few times since it arrived and i have to say I am very happy with this purchase! I have recommended to a few people and I would recommend to anyone reading this review! If you do see negative reviews consider that people usually remember to write reviews when things go wrong and not when they are perfectly happy with the purchase

Weights are easy to replace and the dumb isn't very wide so its easy to curl. Other one i saw were too wide and didnt look like you could do anything with them other than a dumble press. But these are very easy to curl with and do any range of motion you would do with a regular dumbbell. Best part these dont takeup too much space. Very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend these over the Bowflex.

Could have been packaged better, the box took a heavy beating and was severely ripped...
