Gold water distiller

UPDATED review- Ordered on February 14, 2024, Ten months have passed and this distiller is still working great I've had no issues whatsoever with it plus the outside still looks new. The unit was smaller than I thought it would be I have electric burner covers on my stove so I placed the unit on there you can see this in the photo. I'm not complaining about the size it's perfect. I also turn on the exhaust fan above the stove to displace some of the heat from the unit to the outside, but if it's cold where you live it will heat the kitchen quite nicely. The distilled water is so clear, also to one gallon of water I add 1 teaspoon of 40,000 volts of liquid electrolyte I can't taste it and the water is perfect. Putting hot water into the unit helps it work faster it doesn't take so long to heat up. I turn the unit off before the glass container is full and leave half an inch of water in the bottom that way the distilled water doesn't have an off taste because of the cooked-on minerals and other impurities at the bottom. Also no more using plastic to store water or food is a plus I haven't bought any water for a long time now that saves me a bundle. I store my water in a two-gallon glass container with a stainless steel sprocket at the bottom (pic). Also, it says it turns itself off in four hours so I filled it to the top above the suggested water line thinking I didn't have to be around to turn it off early and that there would be water left in the bottom well not! as long as there is water in the distiller it keeps running so my glass container ran over and the water had a funny taste from the burned on residue. Buy this you will be satisfied it's easy to use I'm a 75-year-old lady if I can do it so can you. The handle once connected to the container is sturdy but I still grip it with two hands, because it is rather heavy.

I use this water distiller for my CPAP and humidifiers, and let me just say: this machine is a game-changer. Does it leave a bit of a smell when in use? Yes. Does it leave behind some residue? Also yes. Do I care? Absolutely not. After suffering through the slow, messy torment of manual distillation—where you're juggling boiling water on the bottom and trying to keep water cold on the top like some kind of kitchen wizard—I will gladly take a whiff of metallic steam and give this machine a good cleaning now and then. The smell is temporary. The relief is eternal. This distiller makes a full gallon with way less fuss, and it shuts off automatically when it’s done—no babysitting required. The stainless steel design feels sturdy, and cleaning is straightforward with white vinegar or the included citric acid cleaner. Yes, you’ll need to do some maintenance, but that’s a small price to pay for not spending half your day hovering over a DIY contraption like a water alchemist. In short: if you're tired of plastic jugs, manual misery, or flaky scale buildup in your humidifiers and CPAP, this distiller is 100% worth it. My lungs and my sanity thank me daily.

So in January I will have had this distiller for a year. As you can see from the pictures the silver coating is coming off which makes me wonder what the coating is and what is underneath it. I use white vinegar to get rid of whatever is left in the pan from the hard water. I just spray the vinegar on leave it on for 5 minutes rinse it off. There's no scrubbing or anything so I don't see any reason why the coating should come off. Right now those are my only concerns. It takes about 4 hours to make a gallon of water which is fine, you do hear the fan but it's not distracting, you can have a conversation in the same room. I use water from my Berkey filter which you can see has 315 ppm because Berkey does not get rid of hard water. Once the water has run through the machine it has 1 ppm, so I'm really happy about that. I'm hoping the manufacturer will get back to me and let me know what the metal underneath the silver is.

I've been using this for over a month and it's been durable and great. I can't imagine ever using any other filtration system again. The flow rate is slower than what I'm used to and it's a bit noisy depending on where it's at but I don't mind it because it's better than any filter system I've ever used. Actually, it's not a filtration system, it's a water distiller. It's easy to clean. All I do is spray white vinegar and let it soak for 20+ minutes and rinsing it out. I don't know how much power it used since my solar generator is gone. It beats constantly going to the store for good water. I have a water ppm reader and it turns my sink water which is over 600+ ppm (parts per million of dissolved particulates) to 0-1ppm consistently. I've recorded over 12 days and 37th batches/run. I've since ran over 60 times by now and I'm still turning my sink water from 600+pm to 0-1ppm. Unless it breaks in less than a year from now, this is a great investment.

The distiller works great but after about a year i started to notice the power cord that plugs into distiller was awful warm and today I smelled plastic burning and sure enough the end that plugs into distiller was melting as shown so never leave this on while away and replace cord regularly. I don’t know if it was just there cord that was faulty or if after daily use for about a year it just gave out but so glad i use this only while home in case this happened and started a fire. Update: found out its not cord after getting new one it burnt through it first time running so now i know its the 2nd pic part is faulty and no clue where to buy and if easily changeable. So this doesn't last very long for the money spent.

This is a workhorse. We have used it daily for the last couple years, sometimes twice a day to make water for the coffee maker, for making soup, and drinking water needs. It has been a good unit, and easy to clean out if you forget to shut it off before it uses up all the water. A little vinegar and its good as new. We have had no troubles with it, and will gladly buy another when it no longer works.

I love this distiller. Easy to use. The stainless steel with glass water catcher looks really nice, and feels to be very good quality. I debated getting one in general, but can say it was a fantastic choice - so much easier than buying plastic gallons from the store. I use this to fill my humidifier each night and now I don’t worry about being stingy on water, because I can just make my own :) Cleaning is very easy - follow the instructions on the back of the cleaning salt (or whatever it is) that comes with it. Don’t scrub it - it doesn’t work and will probably just scratch it. I put in the hot water, then the salt, then turn it on with the lid off for a bit. Then just gently run a soft scrub brush over it and everything comes right off. Put a paper towel roll for size. Not small but definitely not terrible. Great value for the price!

This was working really well, but now it is leaving hard black plastic chunks all over the countertop. I don't know where this is coming from but it is definitely coming from the inside cover unit. I have tried reaching out to the seller, but i am not getting anywhere
