Regal Oak Wall Clock with Pendulum

While I know that Seiko makes quality clocks, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and performance. The solid oak, fit and finish, is impressive for the price. I'm as fussy as can be on exact time, my other clocks in the house are atomic clocks synched to the precise time. After two days this clock is still dead on where I had set it. Beyond the quality look and construction, the chime sound is top notch. If one was in another room when the clock chimed, you would believe we had a full-sized grandfather clock in the house. For using electronic generated sound, I wouldn't have thought the Westminster chimes would sound so realistic. I do appreciate the auto night silence from 11:00PM until 6:00AM. The one minor downside, and it is rather minor, is the setting of the time. That's done by removing the back plate (easy to do, it just slides out), and turning the time wheel. It's a bit difficult to set the time exactly, put the back plate on, start the pendulum, and hang on the wall, while keeping the time set exact. I was able to do it within +/- ~15 seconds of the exact time. Since so far it was kept very good time not something I'll have to do very often. Tip: make sure you use a level after hanging. If the clock isn't level on the wall the pendulum will not swing evenly and impact time accuracy. Easy to do with a small torpedo level (see picture). This applies to any type of pendulum clock, not just this one. Overall, a clock that delivers above the price point and is built with quality and looks dang nice as well. I'd call it a good value for the money.

Great looking clock easy to set up and woodwork makes it look expensive for $176 I paid for it. Like all Seiko products keeps perfect time.

Really a nice clock-- similar to the one we had from another mfg. that ran for nearly 20 years bfore its "time ran out". The setting of the the chime is a little ambiguous in the instructions-- but trial and error fixed the issue. The time is "spot on" and the chime is robust and not tinny like the mechanisms sold as replacements on Amazon ( tried to repair the previous clock- but the mechanisms were tinny and ATE UP batteries.

Love the clock but when I was setting it up some how it went out of sink I flowed the instructions to the T but after I hung it on my wall it only rang part of the chime and did not strike the correct time , so I took it back off the wall opened the back up again , removed the batt. reset the correct time then put the batt. back in and checked it for the right amount of chimes tried 2 o-clock and so forth now every thing was working correctly hung it back up on the wall , after I set the correct time and sat there and made sure it chimed on the 15 min mark , the half hour mark , the forty five min. mark and the hour mark WOW ! Now the clock is working perfectly !! Now how this thing got out of sink is be on me but now I love this clock keeps perfect time and I don't know how they got those chimes to sound so real !! They sound just like BIG-BEN a nice deep tone like the old clocks back in the day this thing sounds like it has tuned brass bars inside ! I hope it last for many years to come it's also very beautiful it looks so great on my living room wall !

Nice look for the home, an looks like an antique. Chime is very pretty. Well pleased. The toothbruses fit our system, and do a good job.

I love the beautiful clock! The chimes are wonderful..like bells!. It is great to have a choice in volume and chimes. Only one sad omission …. No choice in ticking or not. That I miss!! It creates a “Welcome home” feeling to me. Alas…!
