Built to Last: Comfortable Work Boot That Doesn’t Compromise on Durability
Built to Last: Comfortable Work Boot That Doesn’t Compromise on Durability I’ve been wearing the Wolverine Hudson boots on job sites and around the yard, and they strike a great balance between rugged durability and comfort. Out of the box, they felt solid but not overly stiff, which meant I didn’t have to suffer through a long break-in period. The leather upper has a nice, tough finish that stands up well to scuffs and abrasions, and the stitching looks reinforced in all the right spots. Traction is another standout. The sole grips well on concrete, dirt, and even slightly slick surfaces. I’ve had boots in the past that felt like skates on smooth floors, but these have a confident bite. The steel shank gives them structure, so even after hours on uneven ground, my feet don’t feel fatigued. Comfort is helped by the padded collar and cushioned insole—enough support that I can wear them through a 10-hour shift without needing to swap into sneakers at the end of the day. One thing to note: they’re a bit on the heavier side compared to casual boots, but that’s expected for this category. For me, the tradeoff is worth it, since that extra heft translates into stability and protection. Sizing felt true; I ordered my regular size and it fit just right with a medium-weight sock. Bottom line: A sturdy, reliable boot that blends comfort and toughness. If you’re looking for something that can handle daily use in industrial or construction settings without beating up your feet, the Wolverine Hudson is a solid pick.

Work every penny
Very comfortable. I'm not a fan on ankle high or higher boots, but these are great. Very good stitching. Held up dry and comfortable through winter.

Great, BUT, passed the test!!
Love them, BUT!!! These are nice boots. Good, soft enough sole and comfortable. Bought them in XL Wide in 10 and feels like a normal solid 10. IMO. Overall pod shoe. Laces could be a tad shorter. Comfortable, BUT!!!! The insole is terrible. Wafer paper thin. Useless. Worked one day with them as is and my thoughts were uh oh….these may not work for me. I just happen to have an extra new set of aftermarket insoles. Some copper work insole I picked up at The W Mart, had them for a rainy day. Put those in immediately and it’s changed the whole dynamic of the shoe. Went from oh crap these have no cushion, to ahh these feel good now. They feel like they are broken in by 3rd work day. On my feet all day walking etc. the new insoles changed my world already in combo with these boots. Wanted another pair for back up, price went back up too! I snoozed. Also wanted to mention this. Yesterday I heard a clicking sound on my heel. Had to really check and focus but I had a huge TAC in my heel. Plastic black head tac with a good maybe 1 1/4 inch metal spike straight up my heel. Never felt a thing. No penetration, no injury!! Boots already paid off!! IMO. That’s a workboot that can take a tac that big and I didn’t feel a thing. I heard it before I felt it. Thanks Wolverine! Job well done! That insole issue is the only reason not a 5 star boot to me. Paper thin doesn’t help anyone. Otherwise a great boot! Get in XL Wide, feels almost normal.

Great work boots!
After using these work boots for about one year I can honestly say that these are “perfect”. They fit well and work like higher priced ones. My only gripe are the laces as they are too long and sometimes come undone, not a big deal. They are great for wet, dry and slippery conditions and the price is very reasonable. Will recommend and buy again.

Better then skechers
I bought these boats may 1st they have lasted longer then sketchers shoes/boots that I have gotten and for the price its a good deal they are comfortable and it doesn't take long to get used to them . Should've bought them sooner.

Nice shoes, lousy quality control.
Fits good on feet. Comfortable. But never in 60 years of buying shoes have I ever had 1 shoe string 6 inches longer than the other. How does that even happen? The long one is what is needed. Can't even tie a bow in the short string. One of the most ridiculous things I ever seen on a new purchase.

Very uncomfortable, runs narrow even in X-Wide
I buy a new pair of steel toe work boots every year, and without a doubt these are the most uncomfortable boots I’ve owned. The first issue was the fit. I ordered X-Wide, but they still felt narrow. The edges of the steel toe rubbed against my toes, which became uncomfortable pretty quickly. The second issue is the lack of cushioning. There’s very little padding in the sole, and I could actually feel the shape of the bottom of the boot under my feet. I tried to make them work. I added insoles for more cushioning, but that made the fit even tighter and increased pressure on my toes. I also tried thicker socks after removing the insoles, but had the same problem. My toes were still getting pushed into the steel toe. After less than two months, I gave up on them and replaced them with a different brand. Pros: None in my experience Cons: Runs narrow even in X-Wide Steel toe rubs against toes Very little cushioning Not comfortable for long wear Bottom line: These may work for someone with narrower feet, but even that’s questionable. I would not recommend them and would not buy again.

Not quite wide enough
I found these on sale at Amazon and decided to try them. They look and feel great and have the design features I am looking for in a hiking/light-duty work boot. The best part is that they fit in my budget. I wanted boots that I could hike in and wear around the house when doing yard work and didn't want to spend a lot for them. Although I do not need steel toe boots, they can come in handy at times and I could not find the boots sans steel toes. The boots fit nicely and were comfortable around my foot with one exception. I have a wide foot and ordered the extra wide boots. While my feet did fit in the boots, the steel toes rubbed the outside of my big toes. Even with socks, I was worried that the rubbing would create blisters so I returned the boots and will continue looking for alternatives. If not for this single problem, I would be wearing them today. They were comfortable and looked great. Hopefully Wolverine will decide to make them without steel toes in the future.

Light boot
Nice boot; light, rigid. Liked it a lot. Just not quite wide enough for my sprawling feet / toes. Returned.

Disappointed in the quality!
Although the soles (traction) has been very good, I am disappointed with the quality of the shoes. I had to enlarge the top lace clip to allow the laces to "clip in" without undue effort. The 2nd & 3rd (from the top) lace holes have "worn-out" with 1 on each boot breaking. I have had metal speed lace clips installed in these 4 positions. This appears to have corrected the problem. I am DISAPPOINTED & can NOT recommend this manufacturer's boots.
