Literally THE best hat I have ever worn!
LOVE it. Very comfortable, great under the bike helmet for crisp morning rides or just wearing to and from the vehicle going to work. I'll never go back to acrylic. I have the orange and white versions. I love both equally well. I find them comfortable anywhere from very cold all the way up to 50s and 60s. Wool keeps the sweat smell away nicely even after exercising on long hikes or rides. I have used them numerous times in the mountains of CO and all winter in Iowa.

Perfect hat. Finally.
This may sound silly, but I can honestly say that this is the best hat I've ever bought. Let me explain: I grew up in Michigan, lived in Colorado, and have always been a backcountry type. In Colorado that meant backcountry skiing, which remains the most challenging physical thing I've attempted (sleeping at 12,500' in a snow cave at -19ºF in January on the continental divide is enough for me... I don't need to climb taller mountains). In all my years, I searched for a thin, knit, 100% wool cap with a true 'cuff' (or whatever it's called when it's on your head). I could never find it until this cap. This cap is perfection in my eyes. Long enough to cover your ears in double thickness, or pull down completely in high winds. The perfect thickness (thin but not capilene thin) for layering or beating it uphill with a pack on. Completely adjustable and changeable. Lightweight. Simple. Authentic. My only request is for some sort of subtle stripe or design, but that's just vanity. Yeah, forget that request... it's better unadorned.FWIW, my head is size 7-3/8" and the hat fits perfectly. It stretches without effort (it's woven that way) so it will perfectly fit a good range larger and smaller. And speaking of the knit... this is incredibly good quality – unbelievable for the price, actually. The yarn is more like a thread, and the weave is so tight it doesn't seem woven at all. There is no sense of itchiness in the least – no protruding fibers... tight.Perfect hat. Finally.EDIT: One thing I might add is that this is a hat best for outdoor activities, with the emphasis on activity. Walking, working in the yard, hiking, camping, running, back-country skiing – anything that gets your heart pumping. It's not so good on its own for sedentary things like watching a game, hunting, and yes even downhill skiing (which is mostly sedentary). In those situations it's best to consider it as a liner... a layer inside a ski helmet, under a hood, etc. Or switch to any number of thicker hats. It's the thin ones like this that are hard to find. I've got two and will be buying two more.

A good fit for a fat head.
This cap was a replacement for a well-loved Smartwool cap that fell out of my coat pocket while running through an airport. Fortunately, this Minus33 cap turns out to be even better -- slightly warmer, a bit softer, and best of all it fits my fat XL sized head better than the other rather tight-fitting cap. So now I can think of this purchase as an "upgrade" rather than the result of an unfortunate loss. Also comes w. re-usable package to store your cap in the off-season for moth protection. Highly recommended, especially for large heads.

just the right size to resist high winds without squeezing my head
I've had many watchcaps in my life, many predating motorcycle helmet laws. The wind regularly took them, as well as Ray-Bans and bandannas. My hair is thinning now and I live in a place where winter is chilly and windy. I thought I would try the high end. This fits perfectly, and keeps my head warm despite being thinner than any synthetic knit or ordinary wool. The itch factor is low. High winds will not dislodge it. I keep it next to my keys and wallet from November through March. It is the third most used item in my household. And washing it is a breeze, a capful of woolite in a sink of warm water, a gentle squeeze, and an hour on a upright flashlight. Indulge yourself.

Great quality, great fit
I wanted something for hiking which wasn't as bulky as my old wool hat. This is perfect. It's warm yet breathable (typical of Merino Wool) but it's light and packs down very small. My header is on the larger side and I hate tight caps but this fit very nicely - snug enough that it doesn't move around but not tight on my head.I have no idea why anyone would spent two or three times the price for a name brand merino beanie. This one seems to be just as high quality and functional as a Smartwool.

Just what i expected
Not my first merino wool product, so I had a pretty good idea what I was getting ahead of time. Double layer 250gsm means it's thinner than most hats, but more than thick enough for merino. The stitching is superb, and the tag is not sewn through, so the cuff can be completely unrolled. The Heather grey color is spot on, a nice dark shade. Of important note, "One size fits all" actually worked for me! I know how stretchy merino is, so I expected it would not be an issue. I have a 24" head, or a 7 3/4 hat size, and I can pull it over my eyes without unrolling the cuff. It keeps my head warm and dry in a broad temperature range, even in light rain. Wool has a way of using your body heat to drive moisture out of the fabric, so a warm head is a dry head unless you get a downpour. It's springtime in the Pacific northwest, I would normally never still be wearing a beanie this time of year, but I don't get too hot with it unless I am working hard. When my head starts to sweat, the hat folds up and goes in my pants pocket, and I don't even notice it.Once you go merino, you don't go back. I have boxers, and socks made of it as well, shirt will be next...Original review 4/15/17UPDATE: 11/8/18Still using this hat, been washed a few times, and air dried. No holes, all the stitching is still good, holding up great.

The best so far!
I shave my head so beanies are a must during Michigan winters. Never heard of this brand, but am a big fan of wool, especially during hunting season. Arrived promptly and brand new. At first I was surprised by how thin the material was, but after wearing for a day, and then sitting in a tree stand for 5 hours at 45 degrees, I love it! Keeps head warm, becoming the only warm part on my body left! The wool is very soft and I haven't experienced any issues with itching. I'm completely satisfied with this purchase, and now looking at other products from this brand.
