A Great Iron for My Granddaughter!
I purchased the BLACK+DECKER Steam Iron for my granddaughter, and I’m very pleased with it. I wanted to make sure she had a reliable, easy-to-use iron for college and everyday life. I especially like the TrueGlide soleplate, which makes it easy to move across clothing, and the auto shutoff feature gives me extra peace of mind. The steam function is also great for getting wrinkles out and keeping her clothes looking neat and polished. It’s practical, easy to use, and a great item to have in her college essentials. A quality product at a reasonable price, and I’m happy I purchased it for her!

Love this iron
Great value and it is a very durable iron. I love the quality and it is easy to use and works great and heats up fast and stays hot for a good long time. I kept it plugged in for an extended period of time and it was great. The color is neutral and it is lightweight and has all the features I need for sewing. Plug it in and it's ready to go no retractable cord.

It does a real good job on your clothes
This is the great iron. I have an iron in year's but I got these shirts that needed to be ironed. So I had to buy an iron. I'm glad I picked this one. It's very easy 22 use. It's a very good price, and it's made very well

Not impressed.
This is not a very big iron. What I found was as you move the iron back-and-forth that water comes out of fill hole and gets on your clothing. I finally stuck a piece of rag in the hole in order to keep from getting big splashes of water that I then had to dry with the iron. I think you’re better off with an iron that has a separate heat control in a separate steam control and that does not have an open water fill hole. For $20 I will keep it. Would I buy it again, no.

Works Well and Gets the Job Done
This is a very good iron that heats up quickly and removes wrinkles with minimal effort. It glides smoothly over clothing, produces consistent heat, and is comfortable to hold. The steam function works well, and the controls are simple to use. Overall, it is reliable, effective, and a good value for everyday ironing.

Just - don't bother - buying this.
I purchased this $20 iron knowing that Black & Decker's reputation has long ago faded away. But I was ever hopeful. Trust your instincts, say I. I used it about 5 or 6 times, had it less than 2 months. Did not abuse it. Used distilled water. One day it worked, the next day it never got hot. For no reason at all. I had registered it with Black & Decker, so I called them and was given a link by which to send in the necessary documentation. Following is what was requested: - Picture of the front and back of the unit - A clear picture of the outer part (side) of the silver prong of the power cord showing the production date code (3 to 5 digits engraved into the metal). - A picture of the model number under the bottom of the unit - Copy of the proof of purchase - Description of the issue - Name, phone number and address(no po box) I went through all those hoops and receiving no response (not even a robot response saying my email was received), I sent another email asking them to acknowledge that they'd received the initial email. Granted it was a holiday weekend, so I'm not upset that they hadn't responded initially. However today, they did respond. With this latest requirement: Proof of Purchase: A clear picture of the invoice, order, or receipt showing: Date of purchase. Name of the store. The purchased item. Order total supplier Well, I had already given them a screenshot from my Amazon acct. showing I had purchased the item with the date of purchase, the date of delivery, but unfortunately I had purchased it with another item. And I had not gone to the "order details" page. Oh just shoot me! So I then went to the ORDER DETAILS page on Amazon, took a snip of that, circled the requested order total and sent off another email. This is a $20 iron. One would think the company would be easily willing to give the customer another iron. Although WHY I would want another iron from them, as opposed to a $20 refund is beyond me. Trust your instincts. Don't buy an iron from Black & Decker, say I. Or - good luck if you do! And have fun taking all those photos! (Edit 9-11-26) That was not the end of the photos requested. After I sent them the last bit of requested info then then wanted the following: "In order to assist you with the replacement of the unit, please provide a picture of the unit's power cord cut into two pieces. Step 1- Unplug the unit to disable the product. Step 2- Use a sharp object (knife/ scissors) to cut the power cord Step 3- Put both pieces of the cord next to the unit (please provide a picture of the cut cord 2-3 inches away from the unit) Step 4- Take a picture capturing the cut cord and the unit in one shot Step 5- Reply to this email with the picture attached Once received, the unit can be appropriately discarded/recycled, and a replacement will be requested for you." My response was as follows: "Good grief! How many hoops can you put a poor consumer through? Just out of curiosity, why couldn't you have asked for all this during your initial email? Nah, that would have been too easy. Obviously you need to make absolutely sure the consumer isn't trying to pull a fast one on you to get another cheap iron that will probably break. Trust me, it really doesn't work. Especially now that the cord is cut as you can see in the attached requested photos. I'm aching to have another one. Hope this is the final set of photos you'll need. Though I'd be more than happy to take the iron apart and take a picture of the interior also. This is starting to be fun. Thank your for encouraging my photographic skills. I'm thinking of becoming a professional photographer and would be happy to offer my services as an in-house Black & Decker specialist in broken product shots. Any job openings available? All the best. GP PS: So glad I can now throw it away. It's been taking up space. PPS: It's interesting that you request such detailed photos and yet don't require the same detail in the spelling of a customer's name. Just a point of interest, perhaps." And then today they wrote: "Thank you for your patience while we process this request. A replacement Irons has been submitted and is currently being prepared for shipment. If you have not received your unit 14 days after receiving this notification, please reach out for further assistance." 'Tis anybody's guess as to whether I will actually receive a new iron in 14 days. But I'll be sure to let ya'll know!

Stick with quality!!! Stick with reliability!
I have my original old Black and Decker steam iron, but I wanted to upgrade. I searched out on Amazon front a couple nice new fangled ones, off brand, and bought them. Well, they showed up and I tested them out. Should have figured being “off brand” quality is questionable. Then I came across a set of Black and Decker steam irons for a great price! So I sent back the others and purchased the B&D iron set. Least to say, they are wonderful! Smooth ironing and great steam control!! So easy to use.B&D has never failed me. Now I have what. need and from a trusted reliable company!! Definitely won’t make that mistake again!! Thank you BLACK & DECKER!!!
