Solinco Hyper-G 16L / 1.25mm Tennis String Set

String came quickly and is playing as advertised. Great strings for getting spin.

Really like this string, great spin, nice feel, and comfortable. It plays crisp without being too stiff. One of my favorites so far

I always like hyper G string although it is a little expensive

I’m a 35 year old 4-4.5 all-court player with semi-western forehand and OHBH. I hit 100+ on first serves and 60ish on kickers. Strung this at 55 mains, 49 crosses on a leaded Wilson Blade v7 18x20. My go-to string for this racquet has been Signum Pro Plasma Hextreme 1.25 (which actually has a higher spin rating and is softer) but I wanted to FINALLY try Hyper-G. Because of the tight string pattern I chose the 18 to open the strings up for more grip (spin) on the ball. I’ve been using the Hyper-G for about ten hours now and I might end up going back to the Plasma Hextreme… The sweet spot has decreased considerably and I’m experiencing some slight arm pain (never experienced it before and I used to string my racquets with a Kevlar/gut hybrid) during longer serve practices that I didn’t get from the Hextreme. The Hyper-G also has some slight movement in the strings whereas Hextreme seemed to be locked in and I don’t think I ever had to adjust them. That being said, I’ve hit quite a few balls with the Hyper-G that just had absolutely insane topspin and I’m noticing more movement on my slice and kick serves which has been nice. The strings definitely take a few hours to really settle and soften. I honestly hated playing with them for the first 2 hours but that’s probably more of a case of finding the correct tension more so than the strings themselves. Once the tension dropped I started noticing better ball pocketing and a great feeling sweet spot. At approx 10 hours I’m getting slight notching but no breakage which is decent for an 18 gauge poly these days so I’m assuming durability is pretty good. They look cool in the Blade but cool looks don’t win matches. Overall I gave them a 4/5 because of the off-center harshness and resulting arm pain. There are softer polys that can provide more spin out there if you’re strictly looking for spin but Hyper-G isn’t a bad string for a beginner/intermediate player looking to capitalize on improvements made in their swing and I think a sub-50 lb string tension would probably be best for those players.

Solid string, but ultimately I prefer the Confidential string. I just get a bit more control and consistency, and I don't need the extra power from the Hyper-G as a 5.0.

I wanted more spin control and the narrower gauge provides that. They do wear more quickly but I'm expecting this to last at least 20 days use so it's still a reasonable cost per time.

I recently tried maybe fifteen types of poly string and string hybrid setups. This is my favorite and I like 48 pounds for mains and crosses. To me it is slightly softer than most polys but gives just as much spin. Power and control are good too. Reminds me somewhat of a poly/gut hybrid without needing two kinds of string. I use Wilson Blade 98s.

Le corde non sono adatte a giocatori amatoriali, men che meno ai neofiti. Necessitano di un braccio allenato.

Very reasonable price with good quality product.

If I had my own stringing machine or unlimited budget for restrings I’d definitely use Hyper-G and cut the strings after each time I play. Plays beautifully for first 3 hours or so, then turns to mush.
