ENGINEER PZ-57 M2 Screw Extractor Pliers, ESD Safe Grip, Made in Japan

I have tried everything prior, I had little to no clearance and I was next to some delicate components in my laptop. These pliers were smaller then I thought and because of it gave me enough wiggle room that I could grab the m2 screw that was almost flushed with a heat sink in my laptop. I had just a bit of an edge for the teeth to grab and holy cow!!!! It got it! I could feel when it got a grip and didn’t have to fight with it like my needle nose pliers! After a lot of micro turns I finally had enough space to twist it out! Worth every penny after struggling for a week to reapply thermal paste. It worked the way it was supposed to. It was even easier then I thought, the grip texture on these was not what I expected. I thought it would be a hard plastic but it was a much more comfortable soft touch but not the kind to wear away. Definitely get if you fix a lot of small computer or electronics! Highly recommend! Much easier to remove then all the other ways I tried and failed and best of all no risk to damage components!

My only issue with these is that they seem to have walked off They work exactly as advertised, and have removed more screws i was unable to get out in other ways than I can count. I know they look like a dumb idea at first. And you will think that they don't look much diffrent from other pliers. But they are. Once you have something gripped with them, it is gripped solidly, and only moved when you want it to.

Life saver—nothing worked to remove the stripped screw on the gas stove. It wasn’t easy with this tool, but it finally did the job.

Once the job is screwed up enough to need this tool, all bets are off; but this has worked each and every time I've needed it. A lot of my stuff is old and past its prime so sometimes heads twist off - often at the thread relief - leaving little to grab. This pliers is a reliable bailout. I hate to gush, especially in a product review, but there is nothing bad to say about this pliers. The other size is just as good.

The thing saved me from hours of pain. I rarely write reviews so this is truly special to me. I was able to remove a stripped heatsink screw M2x3 screw without damaging anything. It was the worst screw at the worst place possible. I used the rubber method, pliers and wrenches, and even a drill but nothing worked. This tool gave me no trouble when removing the screw. Great buy!

Screw seemed misthreaded in haste from last work done 2 yr previously, leaving only tiny bit of clearance to work with. The pliers could grip the screw only at a sharp angle, but they could grip it. That made for optimism, but still needed the rubber-band trick to move the screw more. The grip on the screw head was then solid and firm. Success. Showing ChatGtP a closeup of the stuck screw yielded the idea of screw extraction tools. Never knew of such a thing. The tiny size of a logic board screws leaves only this tool as a real solution. will never be without one again.

Well made snd Heavy-duty for medium to small sized screw heads. They do work good for removing stripped screw heads as long as you can get ahold of it.

This was the last resort for me as I had needed to disassemble an old PS3 but one of the screws on the power supply was badly stripped. After trying the rubber band method and tape method with no luck, and not being able to use a dremel due to the awkward position of the screw within the chassis, I bought this and was able to remove the screw after a few minutes. The hardest part was getting a solid grip, due to the small size and awkward position of the screw but after a few minutes of effort, I was able to remove it and complete the work I needed to do.

Stavo provando a svitare le viti che bloccano il sistema di raffreddamento del mio notebook per cambiare la pasta termica (visto che da quando l'ho conprato non l'ho mai fatto) e nonostante il cacciavite con la punta più adatta che avessi, un paio di viti si sono spanate. Dopo aver provato il metodo dell'elastico, della colla, anche dell'estrattore (sono spesso delle fregature queste punte) sono incappato in queste pinze e ... finalmente sono riuscito a toierle con facilità e anche con mio stupore data la facilità con cui le ho svitate. Sono davvero ottime, ben rifinite e di un metallo resistente, mi hanno salvato. Giusto un consiglio, fate comunque attenzione quando stringete la testa della vite perché il metallo delle pinze è ovviamente più duro di quello della vite e potete intaccare il bordo rischiando poi di diminuire la superficie su cui fare presa, nonostante mi sia successo comunque sono riuscite a fare grip anche sulla piccola superficie disponibile della vite. Vi allego la foto di una delle basterdelle (vite con testa piatta! La più infame probabilmente da affrontare).

Tuve una experiencia de terror al ser principiante en estar modificado mi Steam Deck, para amplificar su SSD. Al principio tenía demasiada confianza de que iba a ser un proceso facil, ya que habia tenido poca experiencia haciendo cambios similares. Confiando de mis herramientas (no tan buenas al parecer) barri este tornillo, y hice lo que nunca debes de hacer que es forzarlo hasta que pierda forma. Intente de los dos métodos universales: el del pegamento y la liga de goma. Ninguno funciono. Buscando en foros de Reddit respecto a este tipo de problema, especifico del tornillo del SSD de la Steam Deck, encontre a alguien que sugerio esta herramienta, fue el llamado divino que me hizo tener la solución! Al principio no tenia esperanzas, ya que intente ligeramente hacerlo con otra herramienta similar a esta, pero no funcionó. Pero, la compre aun asi, y vaya que ni fuerza le tuve que poner para sacar el tornillo! Una maravilla de herramienta. Tuve mucho cuidado de no dañar nada de la SSD de fabrica, y no hubo nada de problema. Muy recomendable, al parecer ese tipo de tornillos son un dolor de cabeza, al ser tan delicados. Así que si también sufres de este problema y te llevo a esta herramienta, mi recomendación es: ¡Comprala! Funciona bastante bien

While changing the hot end on my 3d printer, I ended up stripping one of the screws. After going through all the online forums someone suggested these special Japanese screw extractor pliers. I did a quick search and found these on Amazon. As I was desperate, I ended up ordering one of the recommended pliers. Unfortunately I had forgotten that the screw was only half exposed and there was not enough room to get the pliers onto it. We ended up drilling into the screw which broke the rounded head off. So now we only have the stub of the screw exposed (oh oh). Miraculously, these pliers were able to grab onto the stub, and as a last Hail Mary, we were able to twist the screw out of the hole. So these Engineer pliers basically saved the day! The tip of these pliers were designed to grab onto tiny screw heads used in electronics. The pliers themselves don't feel cheap (or look cheap) in your hands either (thank you Japanese quality). 100% worth what I paid for them, and zero regrets buying them. They will be helpful, heaven forbid, if I have to deal with a situation like this again.

I was skeptical that this product would work on a badly stripped M3 screw but I figured for the price it was worth a shot. It far surpassed my expectations and the screw was out in under a minute with minimal damage to the surrounding area.
