Clear Ice Maker Set, Crystal Ball & Cube Molds for Whiskey Cocktails

Works great! Read the instructions ... follow the directions. Rinse thoroughly after use, the ice is frozen in the bottom. I wish the fill line was white so it was easier to see. You have to work the case out slowly but it produces good cubes. Don't try to rinse the cubes off to make them clearer, they shatter! Great clear cube maker!

The ice cube is clear and is slow to melt in my glass. As a bourbon enthusiast, the first attribute is an incredible aesthetic to add to my enjoyment; the second attribute is a tremendous improvement in enjoying my drink. The mold is a little bit of a pain to get out, but I am hoping my technique will improve, and maybe the cube maker is a little easier to manipulate as it gets used. However, this is a small issue compared to the joy of having a great finished product (a clear, large ice cube). I had bought an oversized silicon cube maker make years ago and now I use that for storing the ice that I remove from this miracle worker. My thanks for a wonderful product that actually works as described.

I bought the cube version of this item because I already have a very similar item that makes spheres. And it does the job almost as good, but a design change would make this item perfect. This device definitely makes beautiful clear cubes. The benefits to which are a more beautiful, clear and longer lasting piece of ice for your drink. It’s simple to use, thanks to its simple design. But unlike the other clear ice maker I bought, the one from Alchemy Bar Goods, it does not have a little divot at the top for each of the cubes. This allows there to be a nice reservoir of water at the top to fill the molds in. The issue is that as the ice freezes, it condenses and goes down into the molds. As it continues to freeze, it pushes out those impurities that you normally see in the ice to the bottom, out of the mold making the cubes. The issue to the design without the divots is that at times you can be left without enough water at the top to completely fill in your cube. The Alchemy design is better due to avoiding this with the divot. It also makes it a little less likely that you’ll spill some water as you move it into the freezer. Overall, good design, does the trick, but the Alchemy version is ever so slightly superior.

This product is amazing. For anyone who has tried to make clear ice at home, you know that the only other way is to freeze it in a mini cooler. This products is wayyyy easier to use than that. Sure it takes up some freezer space, but for anyone that likes crystal clear ice in their cocktails, it's absolutely worth it. If you follow the directions, they come out PERFECT every time. Not a single imperfection. Since it only makes 2 at a time, I like to make them and then store them in a ziplock bag until I'm ready to use them, that way I never run out. I bought the square ones but I will likely buy the sphere ones too.

This product is great. I have it for a few years by now and use it regularly. It makes clear ice cubes. The only bad thing I have to say about it is that sometimes the corners of the cubes don’t freeze all the way or freeze cloudy. I have a very small freezer and I can’t fit five little Coleman cooler in it. I found out that if you insert this icemaker without the cube silicon, you can make a clear block of ice which you can later carve similar to what you would do with the Coleman cooler but smaller so it fits inside small fridges.

Follow the instructions and you'll have a batch of clear ice every day. Highly recommended for fellow clear ice aficionados Personal recommendation: 1) Fill with water and let it sit on the counter for a few minutes to settle any water bubbles 2) Perform towards the end of the night or when people won't use the freezer. Opening the freezer during the initial freezing stages can create bubbles inside the ice 3) DO NOT over freeze. Follow the instructions and remove mold from the freezer after the instructed time period Make sure you let the ice temper and sit at room temperature for a bit before pouring in spirits. Immediately adding liquid to the ice after pulling it out of the freezer may cause the ice to crack destroying that beautiful clear ice you've worked hard to create Cheers!

Ice is clear, however, everytime I make the cubes, the corners end up 'missing'. I have tried filling it to the line, adding more water to the air holes once the rubber mold has been submerged, waited longer periods of time, etc. I've made about 12 batches now over the last couple of weeks trying various 'methods', and both cubes are always missing the same bottom corner of the 'inner' side of the mold. It wouldnt be a huge issue, but then the ice cube flips up in the glass to the side where the corner is missing, which defeats the purpose of hand crafting the perfect cube....Maybe mine is defective??

The product works. It gives you two ice cubes that are clear and work well. The bummer is that it only does two cubes and if and a buddy have a drink one night, you probably won't have new ones ready by the next evening since it takes them a while to totally freeze because of the process. So I've started just making them every other day regardless of if I need them, and then I just put them in a zip lock. Would be cool if they would include a storing tray or something to put extra cubes in once they are made. Also, its a little bigger than a half gallon of ice cream so make sure you've got room. Overall I'm happy with it, just could use a little tweaking to make it more practical.

Die Eiswürfel-Form produziert wunderbare Eiswürfel, die bei entsprechender Wasserreinheit auch kristallklar frieren. Der Prozess dauert natürlich sehr lang, also gut 24h für 2 Würfel, aber für den Heimgebrauch ist das ausreichend, da zumindest ich nicht jeden Tag Eiswürfel benötige und ich somit entspannt im Voraus produzieren kann. Die Form ist stabil, lässt sich gut reinigen und würde ich jedes Mal wieder kaufen. Bin sehr zufrieden damit.

It doesn’t work. I returned it because it did not work as the description said it would. Very disappointed. On top of that they never gave me my money back after asking for a refund. That said I was going to get back what I paid for the product plus up to $20 for the shipping. I contacted Amazon directly to ask for my money and they never paid for my shipping cost. Terrible service and terrible product.

Simply awesome! Does exactly what it says on the box - makes clear ice! Looks beautiful in a whisky or short drink. Larger ice so melts slower and therefore doesn't dilute the drink - great for the whisky drinker! Easy to use although does take up a bit more space in the freezer, very easy getting the ice from the tray even straight out f the freezer, easy to clean and quick to refill. Definitely recommended!!! A+

This makes two very large clear ice cubes. Most ice that you make is not clear, because of the way it freezes. This contraption, which is easy to assembly and fill, freezes in such a way as to get almost every time wonderfully clear ice cubes. Getting them out takes a bit of patience: you just ease the inner section out gradually. It's no bother. So, to use, you place water in the main caddy up to a mark that's on the inside. You then place the two halves of the mould together and lower gently. They fill with water as they go in, and then when fully in some water will likely pop through the hole in the top, all by design. Then transfer to the freezer and leave for 24 hours. It takes time. I then store them in a vacuum bag and make some more. And I have got clear cubes. Fantastic. And they look great in drinks. This product does give you Big and beautiful clear ice cubes. But note that they’re not perfect. You still get some air inside the cubes. Barely noticeable, though. It also takes a lot of space just for 2 cubes every 24 hours. So if you’re someone with a small freezer or someone who has their freezer full all the time, the size might be a problem. So best advice would be to keep making ice until you have a big stock, but it’s gonna take a while. But if you like the clear ice and don’t mind it not being completely perfect, and if you have space in your freezer and you don’t mind waiting. Go for it , it’s gonna be worth it.
