Solid, well-made material, great color that goes great in our classroom, and easy to assemble.

This cabinet exceeded my expectations and i was impressed by the quality and packing from the start. Its heavy and well made. Pieces fit together very well and all the screws align and fit well. I have bought and assembled many pieces of furniture and this for assembly furniture is at the top. However,,,,,the directions are bad. Common sense will have to help you know which side faces which way and how to actually assemble it. I made a few switches after I thought I could read the images. All the pieces were a breeze to out together though. fantastic choice and piece but they need to provide better instructions. Great value, will clean easy, and I expect this to last a long time for our purposes.

Well designed and Constructed. Wood and hardware nice. Hard to put together. Tiny Allen Wrench not up to task. No written instructions to supplement diagrams which weren't completely clear to me.

The quality of this shelf is the first thing you notice. It’s heavy duty and beautiful. Perfect proportions for displaying books, toys and baskets/bins for storage. Assembly is straightforward if you use your noggin. Just make sure you have all of the sides with the grooves facing the back for the backboard pieces to slide in. I started assembling on the floor but found it easier lining up the pieces with the shelf standing up as it started coming together. This shelf is priced right and meant to last. I will definitely buy again from this company in the future!

If you have never assembled a piece of furniture before or are not handy with tools, this nice looking shelf unit may not be for you. Get an experienced friend to help. I don't recommend assembling this without a good quality drill/driver. When it's on its casters, the shelf unit can be tippy, especially on carpet. When in use with children anchor it to a wall (hardware not included). You may want to not use the included casters but rather install glides (hardware store item) for use on hard floors. Pros: it's a sturdy design made of plywood, not MDF, particle board or with a cardboard back. The light colored birch veneer is attractive. Cons: Assembly - there are no pilot holes for the 16 caster mounting screws. The hole locations are marked. Drill pilot holes with a bit the size of or slightly smaller than the unthreaded shank (minor diameter) of the screws (7/64" or 2.8mm). Do not drill all the way through the shelf. 3/8" or 1 cm deep is sufficient. You will need a good quality driver/drill to make the pilot holes and drive the screws. Some screws are quite long and require a lot of torque to drive. Driving these screws by hand would be a killer. If you don't have a drill/driver, most hardware or rental stores can rent you one for a nominal fee. The threaded inserts for the cam lock studs are plastic. Use a #2 Phillips screwdriver to set these screws by hand. Do not over tighten or you will strip out the plastic! Tighten by hand only. I recommend assembling the shelf unit on a table or bench if you can. Much easier on the back and knees and easier to see what you're doing. Recommended tools: #2 Phillips screwdriver, 4 mm hex wrench with a long arm (the one supplied is pretty short and the shelf support screws require a lot of torque to tighten securely), electric drill/driver and drill bit (see above), #2 Phillips and 4 mm bits for drill/driver plus drill bit for caster pilot holes, soft faced hammer or hammer and a block of soft wood for seating the back panels, magnifying glass (or an 11-year old) to see the orientation of some parts in the rather small instruction drawings. Don't be too concerned if you get some parts on backwards at first. Work slowly and the parts come apart pretty easily if you need to reposition them. It took me about an hour to assemble but you should not be surprised if it takes an inexperienced person a little longer.

Super sturdy and easy to assemble! I use it for books and it holds tons! I have it next to the forward facing bookshelf and I think they look nice next to each other. very sturdy, I don't worry at all about it tipping over even with 2 crazy boys.

So glad I made this investment. I love the look and find it to be the perfect size for our home and our needs. It took about 45 minutes to assemble, but the instructions were clear and it was manageable (did it by myself!) Very solid quality.

So happy with this solid, attractive bookcase. Everything I hoped for and was fun to assemble.

I researched many shelving units and this one was larger, had deeper and higher shelves plus it was perfect for storing toys and books. It was easy to put together and the tone of the wood was very nice. I love it. We bought the larger version (there are different sizes) and it was the right choice. We would highly recommend this bookcase! We followed one of the rater's advice - not to over tighten the screws so as to avoid splitting the wood. That was great advice and my husband put the bookcase together readily.
