Perfect Beginners’ Soldering Project!
This soldering kit was really fun to put together! I did so with my sister, who is just starting out soldering, and it was just about right for her skill level. There is a variety of resisters and capacitors, a transistor, and a couple of other parts, including a surface mount battery holder. This was fairly large, and quite easy for beginners to work with as well. The only issue that I had was that the assembly instructions were sent to me via amazon support message stating that an error had occurred with my order. The link to the instructions pdf was a short hyperlink trail from that. Once found, however, the assembly instructions were easy to follow and very helpful. Again, though, it would have been easy to miss. They should at least include a QR code in the packaging that takes you to the pdf online. Now, while the assembly was fun and straightforward, the usability of the clock is not so great. The UI is composed of two buttons and a 4 digit lcd, and there are way too many features packed in. This makes for an unnecessarily complicated setup, and I was unable to figure out even how to set the time in the five or so minutes that I attempted to do so... Granted, I was in a hurry, and when I get back to it, I don’t doubt that I will figure it out, but the confusing experience did leave me a bit annoyed. On the plus side, there is a small battery onboard that keeps the time, so you don’t need to worry about keeping it connected to power. Overall, as a useful clock, it does leave something to be desired, but I don’t think that that was ever the intention. As a soldering practice kit though, this is a great beginner project, and I would definitely recommend! The clear housing makes for a great display piece, and it’s fun to be able to say, ‘yeah, I made that!’

Great Beginner Kit
I was really surprised at how well this turned out. It was my first ever board soldering experience after just doing some soldering on a practice board. Components fit well and only one area on the board had a tight small bit of space to fit the soldering iron. But everything went together just as the easy to follow instructions said they would. The clock has so many functions it takes a while to learn the many things those two little buttons can do. No missing parts, but no extra parts so if you lose one of those little components you better have some spares available. Overall I would definitely recommend..

Very Nice, Lots Of Fun
This digital clock is a kit so be prepared to assemble it yourself. I don't know how many solder joints there are but probably in the 100 joint range. Many of them are spaced 0.10" apart to. I mention this simply so that prospective buyers won't be surprised or disappointed. I considered this to be a "Feature" because I love building electronic projects and this one was easy to assemble and works perfectly. According to the documentation the clock has the following features: o Yellow-green mixed color display * o Automatic brightness adjustment o Time/Date/Alarm/Temperature (temperature in Celsius only!) o Adjustable alarm clock music o Time memory function o Temperature value can be calibrated o Voice hourly report o DIY manual soldering o Simple and easy to operate * I did not see a means in the settings to change the color but it is possible I just missed it. My only complaint, and the reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 stars, is the poor translation of the documentation from Chinese (I think) to English. With the number of Chinese products available in the USA today one would think that there is a company that provides accurate translation services but if there is not many are taking advantage of it. This one falls into that category. The assembly was easy since they provided a photograph of each step showing an enlargement of the component to be installed and where it is located on the circuit board. The documentation does clearly point out any components that are polarized and which end of the device is (+) and which is (-). These components ** MUST ** be installed in the proper orientation or the clock will not work. The problem with the documentation is in the settings of the clock. There are two pushbuttons that are pressed and held to get into the setup area however the only prompting is a title that reads "FU-1" through "FU-5" and you need the printed documentation to know where you need to go and how you need to manipulate the buttons to set the clock as you desire. That section of the documentation is not very clear and I made a lot of mistakes setting mine. Be aware that as far as I can tell the clock only displays the time in 24 hour mode, I didn't see a way to change it to 12 hour mode. I wanted 24 hour mode so it worked well for me though. Likewise the temperature is displayed only in Celsius and cannot be set to Fahrenheit. I did NOT want that so having the temperature on the clock is worthless to me. The clock has to be plugged in to work. It comes with a USB power cord and the end on the clock is a typical 2-pole where the center pin is (2) and the outer shell is (-). Unfortunately it is smaller than most so finding a power supply might be a problem. If you just want it to go along with your computer then a USB connection will work fine. The kit is an easy and fun afternoon assembly project. Getting the six pieces of the acrylic enclosure to stand up at the same time is difficult (Hint! A couple of rubber bands really helps at this stage). I enjoyed building it and I enjoy having it sit on top of my monitor. If you have kids it would be a fun project to spend an afternoon constructing it with them.

Everything works except the clock!
I bought this to practice soldering before I change some electronics in my guitar. The one sheet instructions took a bit to interpret but eventually I was able to figure out what each piece was and that it wasn't missing anything. The clock is MUCH smaller than it looks in the photos. It was fairly easy and enjoyable to put together and I got a lot of good soldering practice. Once it was completed it didn't start up just from the battery but once I plugged in the USB cable to power it powered up. Everything seemed to be in working order, the instructions to set everything took a few minutes to understand but eventually I was able to set the time and date, and figured out the other functions. The display, speaker, buttons, power all were functional, however once you set the time it stays on that number indefinitely. Great little project and good practice soldering, however it is useless as a clock. I'd say it's right twice a day but it's on 24hour time so it's really only correct once a day.

Fun kit with not-excellent instructions
I like it. Has cool classical music alarms built in, looks really nice, but the post-build instructions are terrible. It really wants to be a thermometer and changing it to a clock was not as easy as I would have hoped. Came with everything you need, but ZERO extra, so don't make any mistakes.

Disappointed
Disappointed, Nice kit, easy to assemble. Couldn't get the clock to display the time after going through setup. It only displays temperature and only in Celsius.

Take your time and you will be happy with the results
Good value for the money. As with all soldering projects on Amazon, make sure that you identify the proper components (mainly resistors) before starting the build. The project "WILL NOT" work out if you do not do this. Take you time, take frequent breaks, and the results will end up in your favor.

Easy to assemble for beginners
I bought this in 2023. I did not realize at that time how small everything was. Not sure why brain didn't make that 'connection'. Now 2026 having acquired more knowledge (U of YT) and tools I finally put it together. It was my 2nd soldering project. It was easy to assemble with the instructions. I did go thru parts to make sure all were there and that I knew exactly what was what. So I am commenting on a product I bought 3yrs ago so things may have changed. I felt the instructions were very clear to understand (English). And the pictures were 'spot-on'. It is a very busy board so I did have difficulty putting in the display module and soldering that but it all came out well. Learning to program it now. I have set the alarm and waiting for that to go off. I believe this 2023 module only displays temp in C. Sadly as an American I was never taught nor self learned metric. This will teach me something about temps tho. If it has been updated since I don't know. I was surprised how smoothly assembly went. The case was another story. I felt it took me longer to do that than assemble to clock. Overall, for this item from 2023 I am pleased. The packaging was typical of a lot of these projects... thrown in a bag all jumbled. Some others a very well separated. But again a simple project does not require such packaging and that adds to price. Just make sure all parts are there before starting.

Excelente para practicar
Excelente para practical, optional tener una punta Delgada pero no indispensable. Las instrucciones son claras. Necesitarás una lupa para poder soldar bien.

Very very TINY tip needed
This is SMALL...so you need to practice and have the right tip. Not great for a first or second project
