Worked Perfectly if you Prepare Correctly
Purchased 3x 32" and 9x 24" brackets for my kitchen remodel. We mounted 100+ year old barn lumber onto these successfully. We took off the sheet rock where we wanted these, installed 2x6 between the studs, then installed these on the 2x6, and then finally installed some plywood to flush up against the steel strap. We bricked the wall around the rods and then installed the shelves. Pros: We found these to be heavy duty and could take serious loads. They created a very clean installation which kept people who have looked at it guessing as to how the shelves were mounted on the wall. Installation was straight forward once we figured out how to get the 3/4" inch holes drilled in accurately. Packaging was a sealed bag, steel isn't fragile, so it was adequate for the shipping. Cons: Using a 3/4" bit that I ran about 5" deep into the shelves we found the holes too tight and was a bit tough to get the shelves on. Three factors were a challenge. First, the ends of the rods were finished cleanly, but sharp and could cause binding if the holes weren't perfectly aligned. Had to use a metal file to provide a slight rounding of the edges of a few shelves. Alignment of the rods were not always perfect. What we did to fix that is wiggle the bit left and right to make them easier to slide on up to the last inch or two. We used a rubber mallet to pound the last few inches in for a tight fit. Final thoughts: These were perfect for our use. Get your own screws to mount these. Defiantly install support bracing between the studs to ensure you can do pull ups on your shelves :) Great product. Thanks.

Excellent heavy duty brackets but tricky to align
Ordered 4 supports for a 8 foot long, 9" wide, 2" thick poplar board. The supports work great and and I could have used only 3 supports and it would have been just as sturdy. The installation of the supports was was easy and straightforward. I attached the supports directly to the studs by cutting away the drywall as recommended. Transferring those locations to the shelf was tricky. I used a different drill bit guide to drill the holes in the shelf because I thought I had a 3/4" bit already but I did not so it would have been cheaper and easier to buy the one recommended with these supports. I also didn't have a 6" long 3/4" drill bit but I have an 3/4" flexible auger bit (3 feet long) which gave me the extra depth needed for the supports. For my long shelf it was difficult to line up the supports to the back of the shelf since there is little to no clearance from the 3/4" drill bit in addition to supports not aligning straight with the studs. Even after loosening the supports to allow them to align themselves the shelf was difficult to slip over the supports. I tried mounting the shelf with 2 supports and it was much easier to slip the shelf on and off but it had a little too much give in the middle due to being unsupported. Adding in the additional 2 supports made the shelf much sturdier but greatly increased the difficulty aligning everything. If you are only using 2 supports it's not an issue but for a long shelf it is very fiddly.

Well built, good instructions, and an overall great product
I used 6 of these recently for 2 shelves in a client's home. I built the 12" deep shelves out of 1/2" MDF & left 3/4 of space in between the layers, with a solid edge. They came out beautifully, and slid right onto the brackets, which I'd mounted to the studs after cutting away the drywall. GRK #9 screws worked well for the pre-drilled holes. They seem incredibly sturdy & I suspect the shelves would easily hold 100#. I had considered TIG welding some similar brackets myself, but my time is valuable & I doubt I could have saved any money. I will be buying these again when I next have floating shelves as part of a design. Edit: I just bought 6 more of them, and the quality is the same. I briefly considered some of the knock-offs, but for the small extra investment I knew I could count on the WWW ones being square, so it was well worth it for me.

Very sturdy but big repair if you want to move it.
This product was exactly as described and perfect for my project. Only note is that I would not recommend for a rental due to having to drill into the wall.

Sturdy bracket
I’ve been a carpenter for 30 years installed hundreds of shelves and mantles. This bracket is one of the best of ever seen it’s welded from the backside so nothing interferes with flush mounting. The welds are completely around the entire rod.very nice weld job. Steel is nice finish and very strong. It’s holding up This 66inch wide by 7-1/2 inch high 140 pound solid pc of maple

Worth Every Penny!!
These brackets are wonderful! They are well made, and sturdier than I could have hoped for. We installed them by cutting away the sheetrock over the studs and screwing them directly into the wall stud. This will make a world of difference if you plan on putting anything of substance on them. I was concerned that I would not be able to drill holes perfectly, so I built the shelves with a 1x top and bottom and a 3x (actual width 2.5) facing. You really can't tell they aren't solid wood, and it created the perfect hollow in the back to slide over the posts. Already planning on ordering more for some larger shelves going in on a different wall!!!

Tougher Than They Look - Worth Every Penny
These little metal posts are tough -- really tough! They lifted a 40-lbs barn wood mantel on only two 6" brackets and it didn't even groan. Then I added a Samsung Soundbar to it. Nothing. SOLID AS A ROCK! These brackets are simple, well built, and better than all those "other" posts out there -- you know, the ones that sag under this weight? THESE brackets are the TRUCKS of the bracket world!! If I had any complaint it would be that it only has two wood screw holes at the top. I might have felt better if it had a third one at the bottom, but it turned out I didn't need it. If you want a floating mantel and don't want it to suck? Buy these brackets and don't look back!

Great, but take this little bit of advice for your own good!
These brackets are great. Other have attested to their strength, so I won't touch on that. Let me give you a quick rundown of what I did and some advice. I used these to mount 3 shelves that were solid walnut slabs about 44" long and a little over 2" thick. The depths varied from about 9" to 14". I used a drill press as others recommended with a jig I made, clamps and an extra pair of hands just to make sure I drilled them as perfectly as possible. I used a 3/4" bit. I mounted the brackets on the wall (directly on my Sheetrock, not on my tile) using some #9 3" exterior screws. When I went to put the shelves on the brackets they didn't go on very well at all. I ended trying to get them on and them removing them several times, boring out the holes a little more each time. Eventually got them on, but let me give you some time and effort-saving advice! Drill your holes a size too big (I really wouldn't hesitate to use a 13/16" bit next time) and secure your shelf to the bracket by applying a little construction adhesive in the hole before you put it on. Do a dry fit first and if it doesn't fit don't pound it on -- otherwise it may get stuck partially on. Just pull it off and make your hole a little larger. Make sure they slide all the way on and off without too much pounding and tugging. Then, just shoot a little construction adhesive down the hole before you push them on the final time. If you attempt to install this the way the manufacturer suggests (drilling perfect holes) you could be in for a lot of frustration. UPDATE: The manufacturer says their instructions now say to use a 13/16" bit.
