This is a fully illustrated book with color photographs to show each of the various postures (asana) taught in Kundalini Yoga. This slick volume is organized into nine chapters covering the following areas: Roots of Yoga-Starting at ground zero, basics of Kundalini Yoga, warming up to yoga, Kundalini yoga kriyas, intermediate kriyas, the art of deep relaxation, meditation, the yoga of daily life, and healing foods. There is also a glossary, recommended books and web sites section in this text. I have only one complaint about this book and that is the font used is very, very small; however, the photographs are clear and large enough to see the details of the movements. Like any psychomotor skill book the best combination to learn Kundalini Yoga is a combination of hands on training with an instructor along with studying the book. Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Lots of good basic information about kundalini style yoga.
Had this book a long time ago. Had to replace it due to lost old one, & now reintroducing myself to classes after several years. It’s a great overall info book for kundalini practice & breathwork.

Great book.
This is an excellent book. There are numerous kriyas illustrated and explained in the book. As someone that regular lifts weights, plays sports, and throws kettle bells around, this book gives exercises which provide recovery and improved flexibility. There are also some kriyas which provide a physical challenge. I recommend this book to anyone looking to improve their well-being, be it an athlete who takes abuse regularly, or someone looking to improve flexibility, bodily awareness, and to activate their kundalini life force; their qi energy; opening up their bioenergetic pathways, etc. etc. however many ways there is to describe it. A+

Informative and well explained
The book is very helpful in expanding knowledge about Kundalini yoga and provides beautiful photographs to help with the poses.

Kundalini Yoga made easy
I did not mean to order this book but I am pleased i did. With no disrespect meant, the photos and layout make it look like a "Kundalini Yoga for Dummies" - which works for me! Seriously, there is info about the chakras, a little history, some food ideas, lovely meditations including for kids and couples and a nice selection of kriyas as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Sometimes illustrations of postures are not so clear but the photos in this book are great examples to work from. The only thing I found to be a little strange and off-putting was the fact that the yogis pictured were not wearing white - the customary clothing for Kundalini yogis.The author writes another text that has been recommended for my teacher training so she knows what she is talking about. Overall an accessible intro for someone wanting to learn more about Kundalini yoga.

Bought for a gift and ordering one for myself!!!! Great book!
Had seen a yoga person on YouTube mention this book so I ordered one for my sister in law who is a yoga teacher. I struggled to actually gift it and am now ordering one for myself! Excellent and insightful information on kundalini, mudra's meditation and kriya's. LOVE the illustrations and description of what it does to help you energetically. Highly recommend!

Great book
I have no experience with Yoga and get frustrated with too much information; I like SIMPLE steps with pictures. This book is easy to understand\follow; great binder for holding book open; covers all the basics from stretching, poses, relaxation, meditation; recommend also purchasing a beginner DVD; doing so really helped me to simplify where to begin. Purchased Kundalini Yoga: A Complete Course for Beginners with Nirvair Singh Khalsa (no frills mid 90s quality!) makes taking ones first steps into Kundalini Yoga super easy.

Filled with wisdom and easy to read.
This book is every easy to read and all the exercises are explained in detail with photos to illustrate the poses. I love that they include lots of extras about the overall lifestyle of Yoga such as recipes and breathing exercises. It's a great resource.

Bon livre d'initiation
Bien écrit et riche en images pour aider les amaeurs de yoga. Series organisés positivement par système (et non par pathologie comme autres ouvrages) ou condition de vie. Mes filles adorent regarder les images et se sont lancés à faire du yoga grace a ce livre.
