Tiny camera, huge protection. The car key-sized Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2 with voice control (only available in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Swedish) automatically records 1080p video and provides discreet eyewitness incident detection. It is your responsibility to know and comply with applicable laws and rights to privacy in jurisdictions where you plan to use this device. Review: Love this dash cam! - The Garmin name is worth the money. Great camera. Very small size, is completely hidden behind rearview mirror. But the splitter so you can plug it directly in to the power supply on the back of your mirror, then you will have no visible wires and it powers on and off with your ignition. However, you can wire directly if you would like it to record even while parked. Quality of the video is great. The voice commands are a very nice added feature. The app works great as well. Make sure you get the correct SD card. Easy to install, runs without thinking and you can just tell it to save video or take a photo and it listens to you. Review: Works great - This one actually works and it records too many incidents, especially on bumpy roads, which is a good thing because the dash cam I had before didn’t record anything when I got in an accident, but it recorded a bunch of random stuff would highly recommend this dash can

Tricky setup, great product
This is my second Garmin mini 2. I bought my first one new months ago and wanted a second one to record the back instead of the dash, didn't want to pay full price. The renewed/refurbished one came with everything the new one had, with just a generic Garmin box instead. The quality was indistinguishable from the one I had purchased new. The only issue I had was with setup. Whereas setup with the new one took about 5 minutes, this time around took me around 45 minutes. I speculate that this is because the camera was previously paired to someone else's phone. During the Bluetooth setup portion, it wouldn't connect no matter what I did, and the few times it did I was prompted that it was paired to another phone and needed to be removed. I was literally on my last attempt of resetting/disconnecting/re-running the steps before giving up, and out of the blue it worked and setup. Again, I can only speculate that this was because it was previously setup, and since the camera can't be reset on it's own, it shipped to me setup for the previous owner. Having owned the same product before, I know it works great, but I'll be sure to update this review if for whatever reason the renewed one has any issues.

Love them
I’ve used this product for many years and Even though there are newer versions I still only buy and recommend the 2 mini because of how small and simple it is, only one button on the back so if anything goes wrong your not searching for the record button but it also already has a good auto record with the app being free you can set up the sensitivity for When to record, This has saved me many times during insurance claims.

Not what I expected
I have two of these cameras, and I have been using them for a couple of years. I initially chose them for their cloud capabilities, expecting better performance than a regular, cheaper camera; however, they failed to deliver on that front. The cameras only connect to my home Wi-Fi, and the upload function rarely works properly. The image quality is also quite low. Additionally, the app is poorly designed, with connection issues occurring every time I use it. One of the cameras started displaying SD card error messages, and I swapped the card several times with no improvement. Now, it is stuck in firmware update mode, and I am unable to do anything to fix it—even a hard reset doesn’t work. I am very disappointed with this camera, and I would advise against wasting your money on it.

Great Dash Cam Upgrade
My front/rear pill box ojocam has been flaky on me ever since I've had it, not always recording correctly. I was looking for a replacement that was similar in size and this garmin dash cam is the closest I could find in a decent price range. My only real complaint about this camera is the app and how finicky it is trying to connect to the cameras through it. I bought 2, so I had to do it twice. Not a big deal to not be able to view the footage through the app as if something did happen, I would most likely just pop the SD card and view on a laptop anyway. The picture quality is very good for the price point and size of the device. If you are familiar with wiring things up in a vehicle to the fuse box, installation is pretty straight forward. I love that it beeps everytime my truck starts so I know that both cameras are powered on and in a "record" state(I think you can disable this but I'm not sure since I wanted them to beep). Overall, a great product for the price.

Refurb is the way to go
Looked brand new when I received. Set up was a breeze. The printed manual is worthless but just download the Garmin app and that makes set up super easy. I mounted this behind my rearview mirror and I can't even see it when I'm driving. Bought the dongle to connect power to my rearview mirror and there are no cables showing. I did have to splice the cable that come with it to make it super short but that took 3 minutes. Just a box cutter and some electrical tape. There's only 1 wire inside to reconnect as it is for power only, not data transfer. Gives a nice audible beep when I turn on my car so I know it's working. No issues with connecting via wifi to view/adjust the camera. App is well done, pretty intuitive and easy to figure out how to save recordings. Will buy another for my other car.

Compact and Reliable Dash Cam
I’ve purchased this dash cam twice, and it continues to impress me with its performance. The compact design makes it easy to install without obstructing my view, and it captures clear video quality, both during the day and at night. The automatic recording feature is a great convenience, ensuring that I have video evidence in case of incidents. I also appreciate the built-in Wi-Fi, which allows for easy video transfer to my phone for sharing or reviewing. Overall, this dash cam offers exceptional reliability and peace of mind on the road, making it a smart investment for any driver.

Decent app and quality of camera - wifi is wonky
It took a bit of work to get this working on my Garmin Drive app. I had to find troubleshooting instructions online and follow them exactly. When you have Wireless CarPlay in your vehicle, you have to do some extra work to disable that functionality first. The camera itself is discrete but I wish there was a way to turn the Wifi on it on/off so it wouldn’t cause occasional signal issues in your vehicle.

Excellent
Great little (literally) camera. Installs very easily and you can pretty much hide it entirely. The “okay Garmin” feature is brilliant because instead of fumbling for a save button, which is great in case of needing to do a quick save. Brilliant in my city when the maniacal taxi drivers run red lights while on their phones.
