Can I use this without installing the driver? Downloading a random file from an unknown google drive is super weird.

It will not work without the virtual driver. Yes, you need to download it, and while it seems weird, 👽 it seems to be safe. I've been using it for several months.

In the display setting, you can change the screen resolution. To support 1920*1080, make sure your USB port is 3.0.

No. Not to set up a second extra monitor. I tried over and over again. Following their directions. Installing the software, installing, In fact, I have two as I hoped to set up my spouses Mac as well. I’ll send you one free and see if you can get it to work.

Downloading and installing the driver couldn't be simpler... I'd had so much bad luck buying other adapters that just didn't work at all! The additional USB ports are also an added bonus for me, so so happy! I also purchased the VGA to USB cable, and that works just as well (and even works on the same driver so you only have to install once)!
