I purchased this item to help clean out my gutter downspouts that are “S” shaped. Worked well other than being small, but after running it in and out and picking the leaves out , the downspouts got a well deserved opening up 👍. The return spring is a bit strong but it does grip the leaves and holds tight. Overall I’m pretty happy to have gotten this tool to do the job 🙋‍♂️. I highly recommend the tool.

Had a clogged up toilet. Looked at options on Amazon to prevent a costly plumber visit. In minutes the clog was gone. Saved me $150 - $200 for a service call. I will use this for other non drain pipe related needs as well (as a grabber for instance). I can't believe this thing isn't rated a five star. Works as advertised

This grabber has a fairly typical plunger-driven spreading 4-claw functional design, but is longer than most and has a plastic jacket on the coil cable. I guess the jacket keeps liquids from penetrating the cable from the sides, but they can still get in at the end, so perhaps the jacket is more for avoiding the coils snagging on the edges of whatever the grabber is being inserted into. One unusual and interesting characteristic is a sort of "snap action" of the claws when they fully open. This "snap" (usually) can be felt at the handle end, so it confirms whether the plunger has been pushed in far enough to fully open the claws - which is helpful when the claw end is out of sight. This avoids grab failures due to unopened claws. However, the "snap" is not as noticeable when the claws close. While the long length is useful for "deep grabs", it also makes the tool a bit unmanageable when doing shallower grabs... and, like most such tools, the only way to guide the claw end is via pushing and/or turning the cable - so dealing with excess length makes control rather difficult. (I guess it's best to have a cable length just a bit longer than the necessary reach - so it may be good to have several grabbers of different lengths). The only (minor) issues with mine is some molding "flash" at the parting line on the T-handle and around the rim of the plunger button (This has to be removed/smoothed to avoid possible skin cuts), and for some reason, the plunger section is a bit canted where it's crimped onto the cable. (This isn't a functional problem; it just looks weird. I suppose that it could help a bit for turning the whole assembly while guiding it into a tight space - so perhaps the cant is intentional). In any case, the tool works well, and appears to be good quality.

Not Just for Drains! 🔧 I actually haven’t been able to use this on my drains yet because I misjudged the size before purchasing. I read the instructions beforehand and thought it would fit, but the drain strainer/guard openings on my sinks are too small for it to pass through easily. That part was my mistake, not the product’s. I originally bought this after trying one of those cheap plastic hair-clog remover tools, and it was awful. It bent, snagged, and basically disintegrated almost immediately. This style of metal grabber tool is much sturdier and far more versatile. I had one years ago, and you’d be surprised how often it comes in clutch. It’s great for grabbing things that fall into impossible-to-reach spots under the washer, dryer, or refrigerator. It’s also super useful in the garage for retrieving dropped bolts, sockets, or random parts from tight spaces… especially in an engine bay. 😬 Even though I can’t properly review the drain-cleaning aspect yet, the grabber tool itself is solid, flexible, and genuinely useful to keep around the house or garage. I personally rely heavily on reviews and try to include the details I’d want to know before purchasing. Hopefully sharing my experience helps someone choose the right item the first time 😊

It's very strong, easy to use and has an incredibly long length very high marks for that. Plus the gripper at the end great for grabbing and removing blockages from drains. but where it falls short is in maneuverability. it's not very good in tight spots. And because of the grip at the end which works great with one drain clogs say as in a sink. but not so good for multi-tasking on a deep shower 2 drain system clog.i found it almost unusable in that situation. I would definitely recommend it for clogged sinks with simple clogs for clearing hair and debris. one drain showers ect. I can't comment on toilets as I didn't have any clogged toilets to try it on, but in my opinion it's perfect for retrieving whatever kids might toss in the toilet and clog it. it's really built for that. You will not be disappointed with the price you pay, if you need it for any of this.

I had a clog in bathroom sink. I thought this would be a good option to possibly clean out the trap. Unfortunately, the head is not very flexible. There is a spring that protects the jewels from scraping in the pipe and because it’s not very flexible trying to get it through the trap is almost impossible. It just does not have enough flexibility. This product is good if you have a long section of pipe and something fell into it, but if it has Benz that are pretty tight, then you can pretty much forget this. If I had to do it over again, I would’ve bought a $29.10 foot snake hand operated because the head of the snake would have been easier to navigate specifically due to the flexibility in a snake. As far as the jaws are concerned, I don’t find this product easy to use. It requires some hand strength to get the jaws to open and I don’t really find that the jaws grab a lot. The design is not that good. The quality is not that good either sorta has that cheap feeling to it. There are better products on Amazon, but if you have a clog either in the kitchen sink or in the bathroom sink in all honesty, you really want to buy a snake it’s worth it in the long run because this is not the answer *** Do not use this in the toilet. It will scuff up and marring the porcelain. This is made for drains, not toilets. There is a snake that is specifically made for a toilet that have a coded head that will protect the porcelain from scuffs and marring ***

So my sister, who is 29 years old, dropped her toothbrush in the toilet. Forgot about it. Flushed the toothbrush. The story doesn’t line up, but the end result was a clogged toilet. I thought - it’s over for us. We’re going to have to replace the toilet if this doesn’t work. But it did work!!! But not in the way you’d expect. The claw grabber is actually really strong and great at grabbing. We did some test runs before it got contaminated by toilet water and it had no issue grabbing objects and holding on tight. We stuck it in the toilet and down the pipe and kept grabbing… toilet paper. Go figure. But we kept sinking the grabber farther back into the pipework. I did not expect the toothbrush to come out easily. We were shocked when after just a few minutes the toothbrush came out - and NOT in the grabber. The snake action is actually what got the toothbrush out.

Was able to get in behind our shelves and retrieve a lost thin bag, amazing!

Dropped a piece of plastic in my lawn mowers fuel tank. Got this on a the off chance it'd work and it did! First time. Very satisfying to use too with the little grabber things.
