does this have to be powered from the battery or can it be powered from head unit?

Needs external power (not from head unit) from battery. I wired mine to fuse block.

will this amp handle 350 watt speakers or do i need a higher amp?

350 watt speakers probably have lower sensitivity which means a mismatch for this low wattage amp. Search and read about speaker sensitivity which is measured in dB.

What wires are required for a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee with base six speaker radio?

don't know I ran all new wires for four speaker system.

Is the outside of this amp made of aluminum?

I believe it is thin steel plate.
