Expected Information is Missing
We are looking to gain more knowledge about RVing and are inexperienced in the RV world. We have done years of tent camping (backpacking & car camping). We have also rented a class C a couple of times over the past 10 years. We are mostly interested in learning more about buying and using campers. This book is full of practical information about buying and using an RV or Camper. However, we are interested in renting several different types of campers before buying. We have an earlier version of RV Vacations for Dummies, which has a few pages about renting. We wanted a more up to date reference. On the back cover of this book, listed as one of the bullets under “Inside..” is “Decide whether to rent or buy” – see photos. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find any information about renting. I would give the book 5 stars, if it were not for the missing information. The issue is probably the fault of the publisher, rather than the authors.

Great for "newbies"!
Being brand new to the world of RVs, my husband and I wanted something simple and easy to understand to introduce us to this new hobby. "For Dummies" was the first place I looked! This book gave us lots of basic information and was a good educational tool for us. It can't go into detail because of the great variety of motorhomes and travel trailers out there, but it's a good foundation upon which to build. The humor included was a great bonus!! If you are amateurs like we are, I would recommend this reasonably priced guide!

Facts & funny!
This comprehensive manual is packed with facts, good ideas, tips, as well as thorough and clear explanations of some pretty technical aspects of RVing. This is just what we newbies needed! As an added bonus, the authors have a sense of humour, which lifts this from a solid, dry compendium of information to something that is informative and delightful to read. Facts and funny; what a combo!

Wish for duagrams
I was hoping for diagrams and better descriptions of hooking up propane, battery water for boon docking in a pop up. I still have questions. But still a very informative book. Too much info on what to look for in buying an RV. I’m not sure who would buy this if they didn’t already own one.
