It’s a very long and very detailed book!
I never know there was so much involved in welding. For me - taking a class at the local junior college - the book is overkill. The book explains the “science” of welding and provides a path for learning. I bought the book through Amazon. The price was less than half of the price at the campus bookstore.

I needed this book for welding, a shop class ...
I needed this book for welding, a shop class I had to take. This book is very descriptive & explains welding processes for both beginners & up to the higher levels of welding. While conducting searches for answers on google regarding the end of chapter review questions this book, or the versions prior to it, routinely came up in the searches database of possible results. This tells me that this book may very well be worth looking at if in the welding field.

NEW BOOK FOR A GREAT PRICE
My son starts his welding training and the book 8 edition was available in the college for $120. I got a great deal with Amazon. Same ISBN, new condition and fast delivery.

Good book for Journeymen and Apprentices
Also extensive knowledge of all the welding processes used today in detail. Often teaches different options of various welds. I run a small welding business and keep this in my welding rig. Its handy if you've forgotten how to set up for different processes. I primarily weld SMAW and GTAW structural and piping and vessels very little wire or flux core. This book would definitely help me set up a machine if needed.
