Bought the base coat and cold water top coat . Put on a new base coat and topcoat to begin the northeast surf season. Wax went on evenly and provided great traction

Okay, so this review will piggy back and actually have me revise a previous review. I wasn’t super thrilled with the Double Barrel cold-water wax I got previously. I used it on a bare board and I had a really tough time getting it to adhere. With the Double Barrel basecoat wax I had none of those issues, and after applying an underlayment with said basecoat the ‘regular’ DB wax went on nicely. I didn’t have any of the gumming-up problems I wrote of previously. This is decent wax. I still don’t know if I’ll go out of my way to order it specifically, but the samples provided work as they should and I’ll continue to use it until its depleted. My local surf shop usually hands out bars of Sex Wax or whatever with pretty much any purchase so it makes my wax purchasing a bit of a non-issue as compared to other surf products I buy.

This base coat works great. I usually don't use it, but it is extending the traction on the board by using less regular wax during the summer 'melty' months for me for sure.
