Northern Breeze Screen House

This screen house is the center of my big camp. I upgraded to this one after struggling in the rain with another, lesser quality screen house. The Northern Breeze is worth the extra cost. The walls/awnings provide shelter from the rain as well as additional privacy. It can be a little difficult for one person to assemble, but I've managed. It is very well designed. I've spent many hours in bad weather inside this and it is so nice to be able to reconfigure the awnings and walls. During extended rain, it is more comfortable and far less claustrophobic to set up an awning rather than keep all 4 walls down. However, If you set up the awning as pictured, it will pool with rain water. The water slopes back toward the tent and doesn't drain until it is really full... then it will dump. For better rain shedding, I only use two poles and set them with a long pole on the end, a short pole in the middle and only a guy line to stretch out the corner. This provides a proper slope and the rain drains to one side. A single set of awning poles (1 long & 2 short) is included, but you can order more directly from Eureka. Get at least one more long pole. I've been really happy with this and all of my Eureka tents. Happy Camping!

We have used this for several years now, and we love it. It has held up though several fierce storms. (Like when the rangers came into the campground and told us all to get out). Kept us safe from the bugs of Northern Michigan. Many a lovely evening looking out over the lake in bug-free splendor. Sturdy, functional, and it does what it is supposed to. A warning, however: this thing is a BEAST. It's heavy, and takes two people to set up. Once you take it down, it's hard to get clean and dry for storage. We find it is more than worth the effort. If you keep the front fly up on poles during rain, the water pools on top. We have not been able to find a good way to alleviate that. We tend to close the front when it rains. And stay inside snug and dry.

First of all. The 12x12 is huge. The pack is a bit heavy and it's about the size of one of those large army duffel bags. 3.5 to 4 feet long maybe. It is just too cumbersome to put this up. You do it once and then remember how much time it took and never do it again. Nothing is really waterproof. Just opening this huge mass of blue and trying to lay it out, find the corners....ugh. I'd rather put up the tent and my REI shelter and be enjoying nature, not getting frustrated over this mess.

I am happy with the Northern Breezeway. I live in Alaska where we not only have a lot of bugs to contend with but we also have constantly changing whether that can be a challenge for any screen tent. The vertical side walls and the built in rain curtains were a good feature for the constantly changing weather. We stayed dry through a couple of heavy rain storms. I also liked the awnings because it was nice to sit outside the tent, under the awning, when it was sunny. The 2 full length doors with multiple zipper options were also very useful. In fact, when it gets really windy I would recommend completely opening both sides so the wind can flow through (more about that later). The size of the space was also very nice. We didn't have any problems assembling but there were two of us and my husband attached the highest clips because I can't reach them. If it was only me assembling the tent, I would need to attach the high clips before erecting. Things to consider: -In heavy wind, this tent needs to be staked down well. Consider purchasing steel stakes if wind is an issue where you are. The plastic ones that the tent comes with just don't do the trick. The tent flipped on us because we did not have it staked down well and we had the rain curtains down. Completely opening both doors to let the wind blow through also helps. This is an issue in all screen tents. The screens also catch the wind, regardless of whether the rain curtains are down. -The screen sides don't go as high as some other tents. This makes it a little dark inside and taller people need to crouch or sit to see out. This was not a big issue for us because we were sitting most of the time when we wanted to watch what was outside. Plus it seems like it would compromise some of the sturdiness of the tent if the screening went higher. Never the less, it would have been nice if maybe the tent was made with brighter fabric. -the awning does collect water when it rains but we have not had a problem with water pooling up there for too long. It seemed like when water got to a certain level it would just pour off one of the sides. In fact, we had friends who would shelter themselves under the awning part of our tent while it was raining. We ordered extra poles so that we could have an awning at each of our doors. We really liked the awnings. Even in the rain. The tent only comes with poles to prop up one side. Hope this helps. Overall we are very happy with our purchase.

This screen house is easy to put up and we love that you can drop the sides depending on sun, rain, wind etc. We also like how high it is. However, after one use we had holes in it. Be very careful packing this up because it seems easy to tear.

At first, I was very pleased with my purchase of the Northern Breeze Screen House, but that quickly changed when wind was added to the equation. Even with placement of additional guy lines the screen house was barely able to withstand winds of more than 14 mph, and I attribute this to the high profile of the upper portion of the screen house as well as the structural design (cross poles would be a very handy addition to prevent collapsing). The poles were getting noticeably bent with each subsequent use, and for an over $400 purchase I expected more. My screen house met an untimely demise at the hands of 18-20 mph winds, which are not uncommon in the mountain states, and I could only recommend this product for light use in good weather. I feel so strongly about this that after hundreds of Amazon purchases, this is my first review. If you routinely deal with moderate to high wind, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere...

This tent is a bit pricey, but worth every penny. This tent is relatively easy to set up and is well made. It has seen plenty of heavy rain and strong storms, and always stays dry inside. The built-in rain curtains are also very convenient when the weather turns bad. This tent is very roomy as well. During one storm, we fit 10 adults and a picnic table inside it comfortably. I do a lot of camping, often in inclement weather. I have had several screen tents, and this one is the best by a long shot. I would recommend this to anybody.

The walls are close to vertical and the roof is really tall which makes it very roomy. It easily fits a large picnic table with room to spare at the ends. The construction is high quality and it has held up well in wind and rain storms. Each of the four walls can be a separate awning with grommets at the corners and the walls and screen can be completely rolled up to make moving big things in and out a breeze. A lanyard is provided at the top to hang a light.

I just received this screen house after much research online. I set it up in my yard and was impressed with ease of setup (although there were no instructions included). It is very spacious but may be a little large for some campsites. The build quality is very good with solid aluminum poles that should last for years without issue. It is a far better product but of a similar design of woods screen house that this replacing. Time will tell but out of the box i am very pleased with this purchase.

Received this really fast and it is the only one of it's kind that has a screen but also the coverings in case it rains and you can keep things dry. Looking forward to using it this summer. Have now had it for 2 years of use. Last summer we had a really big wind during the night. We had pegged it down and it held fast. It's nice and big so we can put in a large picnic table and chairs. It does take 2 people to set up but is relatively easy to set up.

Great tent. perfect for setting up a dinning lounging area on a campsite or at home. A little big for us now that the kids don't follow as much but still great quality. It is the larger model so the pack is really big for smaller cars. For pick up campers like us it doesn't matter much.

I originally planned to buy a Paha Que because of the additional fly for the roof but the cost of shipping, customs & duties from the U.S. was prohibitive. The Eureka was a good choice. It has, so far, withstood rain, bugs, sun and a little wind. It is an excellent cooking shelter: spacious enough for a picnic table and other gear (coolers, etc.) It does require 2 people to set it up, especially if there is a bit of wind, so that's a bit of a pain. It is big so it holds a lot of wind. Be sure to stake it down securely and be prepared to attach guy ropes to the poles. Since there are no attachment points for this use climbing (or other braided cord) to make a prussic around the pole. I wish Amazon.ca carried the optional floor for this tent. I notice the price has gone up considerably since I bought mine. It's a great tent, but at $900?! Unfortunately, only the Paha Que seems to come close to the quality (based on research not personal experience). The others are not much more than toys. A the price I paid a few months ago, this was a worthwhile purchase and it seems like the kind of product that I will get many years of use from. Pleased overall.

quality seen as soon as it's opened ! easy to set up, lots of room and nice to have roll down sides for weather protection. Well worth the extra coin compared to other makes.
