Lowe's has apparently discontinued supplying parts (if they ever did) for the 80V cordless line trimmer a couple years ago. Searched for an aftermarket head & Weed Warrior Autowinder II Universal Trimmer Head popped up. This unit fits A LOT of trimmers, including the Kolbalt 80V cordless. It installed easily, just as the YouTube video demonstrated. No more difficult than unscrewing the old one and putting on the new one. Perfect UPGRADE, fit & function. It is a WAY better unit than the OEM head. The OEM head was supposed to be a "winder" like this one, but ot never worked right. This one is flawless. Stick the line through, even it out, wind it up. An interesting feature is on the plastic bump knob. The part that comes in contact with the ground when it's bumped isn't part of the spool the stops rotating when you hit it on the ground. Most bump & go spools are solid which is why they wear out so fast. This is the first trimmer head I've seen designed this way. Looks like it should prolong it's useful life. It's no heavier than the OEM head. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a replacement trimmer head. Just check the list of trimmers it fits. This thing is not very intuitive. It was easy to attach to my string trimmer. But aligning it to feed in the string is a pain. The holes get full of dirt and if you have too large of string it will not feed. Also found that most string is no longer round (it is star or square shaped) that makes it hard to feed. Once I got the string in it it would break off and be struck in the path of loading new string. Making for head removal which requires prying the head off. Then because it is dirty it does not snap back into place. Then it fly's apart into the weeds in many parts (see pic). Keep shopping this thing in not good. Ps: I did take pleasure throwing this in the garbage can. Junk.

Worked great until it didn't. For 1, .095 string barely fit into it, though it supposedly takes larger line. Had to drop down to .085. I bought it last June and it worked well through the rest of the season. Last weekend the head started coming apart (the one you don't have to take apart) and eventually broke the clip entirely. I love the concept, but spending a bit more for the next one.

I wish I would have known about these things sooner. The head on my 20v DeWalt was a pain to restring, but this is a piece of cake. Mounting was easy. No extra parts were needed.
