Easy to use. Easy to clean, easy to reuse. In some cases there is a noticeable bit of power difference because of the air to fuel ratio. In some cases you might not notice it. It's not a huge jump in power but it can be noticeable in the right vehicle. I put them in everything. I got one in my outback. I had one in my RX. I had one in my Sequoia had one in my fusion. Every vehicle I've had I've put one in. I have not put one in my lx470 yet because it's going to need much more work than an air filter can do right now. So I haven't put that expense into it. But I will because I know how it performed in the Sequoia with the same engine. It was a noticeable difference and when you're at about 6,000 7,000 lb of weight, a noticeable difference can be significant matter how small of a difference it is that it's noticeable

I bought the K&N air filter for my 2016 Subaru Outback with 2.5i engine and installed it on 7-21-2016. It fits perfectly- as mentioned by others the only way it fits in this car's air box is to turn the filter 90 degrees so the filter slats are running vertically, not horizontally as it does on the OEM filter. The filter looks square but is not a perfect square. Build quality is much better and more solid than the flimsy OEM or aftermarket paper air filters. The deep side of the filter (air input) faces the front of the car which I installed into the front portion of the air box. I noticed right away that throttle response was better and much more immediate, and the engine sounds and runs more smoothly. After 2 weeks of having it installed acceleration and power have really improved. The lackluster acceleration was a drawback I've had with this car in exchange for good fuel economy, but I love everything else about it. After having had the K&N filter installed for 2 weeks acceleration has really improved to where I am very impressed and am having even more fun driving it. This is my fifth Subaru with the 2.5i engine. I was thinking my next Subaru would be with the 6 cylinder but no longer, thanks to this air filter. Apparently the engine computer system needs time to adjust to the increased air flow. This is not imagined on my part, power and speed have considerably improved, as well as smoother acceleration. Feels like power has increased by several horsepower. The car also idles at a lower RPM. I have not yet determined any increase in fuel economy- I've been having too much fun driving this car faster and harder than before. This filter really does great things for my car's performance! Don't hesitate to try it.

Perfect, easy replacement for the restrictive stock paper filter on a 2016 Subaru WRX. Start to finish, installation took about two minutes with no tools required -- and this is my first time replacing an engine filter. The filter housing has two clamps that pop right off, and then the housing will open just far enough to replace the filter.After about 13 months / 18k miles, the stock filter was dirty and clogged with leaves, dirt, and bugs. I noticed an instance difference after installing this K&N filter. I can't vouch for a specific improvement in HP or fuel consumption yet, but it definitely feels like the engine has more pep. With the stock filter, switching into second gear at low revs had a sort of hiccup in power delivery, no matter how I engaged the clutch. With the K&N filter installed, that hiccup is gone! The power band feels consistent and slightly more powerful. Couldn't be happier with the purchase.Don't pay a dealer to do replace your engine filter! They will charge anywhere from $70-$100 for a $15 paper filter that will only last a year or two. YouTube has plenty of helpful videos about how to install a filter on your make and model, and you'll be happy to have a higher quality, reusable filter.

I'd read a bunch of reviews saying that these filters could do many a splendid thing, but I'm from Missouri and we like things proven. The biggest attraction of this filter, initially at least, was that it's a lifetime filter that only needs to be cleaned every so often. Seeing as I'm tired of paying $15 for a replacement filter 1-2 times a year this sounded like a great idea, even if there was no discernible difference anywhere else. Once I wrestled the new filter into place I was anxious to try it out. I took off for about an hours' worth of driving on a route I'm extremely familiar with and noticed a few things. 1. Power delivery is now a little smoother. The engine obviously isn't working as hard as it was previously. 2. City driving hasn't seen any real increase in efficiency. I'm sure if you grandma'd it you could probably squeeze out some mpg in stop/go traffic, but in a practical sense there's no change for me. 3. On the interstate it's a whole new ball game. Set the cruise control to 70mph like normal and I'm seeing an EASY 2.5mpg increase! My wife drives long distances on a regular basis for her job, and this little filter is just what the doctor ordered! I'm no math whiz, but if I'm correct it shouldn't take any more than 9.5 tanks of that kind of improved efficiency to have the filter pay for itself. Pretty cool. But your results could vary.

Good quality product

I upgrade K&N air filters in all my cars and motorcycles.This one for my used 2018 Subaru Forester 6mt, it was a really tight fit. It it slightly bowed after all 4 corners were in place and the cover of the air box closed and snapped. Maybe it'll conform better after a few hot and cold cycles. Maybe if I get enough ambition I might take it back out and shave millimeters off the corners of the air filter for a better fit. It is in place exactly the way the factory air filter was in.

Saves money

Working great in my wife's 2011 Outback 3.6R. Really enhances throttle response at all RPMs and the engine is definitely breathing better and making more power above 4500 RPM. Certified butt dyno on the same on-ramp. The 3.6 also uses the exact same filter as the 4 cylinder models...and you can't tell me that Subaru put an oversized filter in every outback, legacy, forester, and impreza 2.5 and 2.0 vehicle simply because it was the proper size for the slow-selling 3.6 H6. The inverse is the vastly more likely explanation (that the stock filter is properly sized for the 4 cylinder cars and undersized for the 6 cylinder cars).Unlike most modern motors, this panel filter removed/reduced a HUGE bottle neck for the bigger H6 engine above 4500 revs. Whereas it used to labor from 4500 RPM to redline during highway merges, now it races up toward the redline with a different and smoother tone to boot. The difference is stark and even my wife could tell from the passenger seat. My other car is a 1999 Porsche 911 also with a flat 6....so the likelihood of a placebo effect occurring in such a vastly slower car is unlikely. A .9 MPG improvement has been observed so far, in heavier-than-average traffic on my wife's commute since installation due to some road construction.I came from Denso (OEM), Mann, Mahle, and Purolator PureOne filters before, with proper pleat-counts. I am not so certain that this K&N would have the obvious improvement that this filter shows for the 3.6, but I am a fan of K&N regardless.

Habe mir den Filter für meinen WRX STi gekauft im Tausch gegen den originalen Platten Filter von Subaru.Passt einwandfrei, Macht etwas mehr Ansauggeräusche und lässt die Luft mit weniger gegendruck fließen.Mehrleistung hab ich aber nicht wirklich gespürt.

バイクでも有名な老舗メーカー、車用は安いですね｡汚れたら洗浄してメンテナンス用のオイルを塗布して再使用出来ます。吸気抵抗も少なくなる為汚れていた古いフィルターから交換の直後はアクセルの応答性が良くなり､本来のエンジンの性能を快復したと思います。燃費はスバル車なので気にするな!交換は簡単(個人の感想です)吸気口からチラ見えするフィルターに気付く人は居ない｡持ち主の自己満を満たすアイテムです。付属のステッカーをさり気ないところに貼りましょう。

In genere non faccio recensioni molto lunghe, ma su questi filtri ne ho sentite di ogni, quindi avendolo comperato vorrei dare il mio contributo. L'aspetto e la qualità sono di gran lunga superiori a quello originale, la plissettatura di carta è sostituita da un tessuto di cotone impregnato di olio tenuto in forma da una fitta ma fine griglia metallica, anche il telaio anziché essere di plastica rigida è fatto in una robusta gomma morbida, per rendere più stagno l'accoppiamento con la scatola del filtro. Il suono del motore è diverso più “rotondo”, la spinta è leggermente migliore fino a 2000 giri, più corposa. Per i consumi scriverò più avanti. Dimenticavo, montato su di una subaru 2.5 benzina con impianto gpl con 320.000 km all'attivo. Spero di essere stato utile.
