book
This is a bit of a classic, and I can see why....it assists with slowing you down and centering in the here and now with breath; really powerful and yet so simple. Great benefits for just applying the simplicity of the breath, very Zen of course..

Timeless Introduction to Zen and the Art of Living
Of all the books written about Zen, Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind remains one of the most profound and accessible I have ever read. More than a book about Zen, it is a book about how to approach life itself. I first encountered Shunryu Suzuki’s teachings years ago, and I continue to return to them regularly. What makes this book extraordinary is its simplicity. Suzuki manages to communicate deep insights without complexity, intellectual gymnastics, or spiritual jargon. His words are clear, direct, and quietly transformative. What I value most: * The concept of Beginner’s Mind: The idea that true wisdom comes from remaining open, curious, and free from fixed conclusions has influenced both my personal practice and my professional life. * Practical rather than theoretical: This is not a philosophical treatise. It is a guide to practice, presence, and direct experience. * Depth hidden in simplicity: Many passages seem straightforward on a first reading, yet reveal entirely new layers of meaning years later. * A book for life: Few books reward rereading as much as this one. I discover something new every time I return to it. As someone who has spent years studying meditation, Zen, self-mastery, and human potential, I consider this one of the essential texts in my library. In fact, it is one of the books I most often recommend to people who want to understand meditation and Zen without becoming overwhelmed by academic or historical detail. The 50th Anniversary Edition preserves the timeless quality of Suzuki’s teachings while making them available to a new generation of readers. A quiet masterpiece. Simple, profound, and endlessly relevant. One of those rare books that grows with you throughout your life.
