A nice simple design. The spring is basic but better than the coiled steel of other products which can get clogged with dirt etc. The handle locking mechanism is simple but good. Other makes often have a small lever near the handles/blades pivot point and sometimes self shut between cuts. Not on this one. Blades - sharp as you'd expect from Japanese steel. I've only had it a couple of days but I'm really impressed and expect a long life.

The quality of the blade is as it says. Really good blade, very sharp! It's excellent for hardwood. It's easy to handle, but the clip that keeps the blades close cant be removed with the same hand that is cutting; both hands are needed. Nevertheless, the tool is the best I have in many years of buying other scissor brands.
