I've been using Hunter fans for over 30yrs and never had an issue. One of our (5) house fans quit working and after trouble-shooting the unit, found it to be a bad motor. Found this one (no light) and would blend in well with existing decor. I had to return the first fan I purchased due to a bad motor as well. It only spun in one direction and I did my checks to find it was bad. I do a bench test in my shop prior to hanging, with just the motor assy. and switch unit, just in case there's an issue. I could rate this a one or two star, but it isn't due to design, just a bad motor, but that one went back. Having done this many times, this one is even easier due to just having three wires to connect. Ground, neutral and power are the only ones you need to wire nut together at your connection box. Once the hanger is securely mounted, it's just a matter of hanging the fan unit (sans the blades, they go on later) and connecting all three wires to their correct position. Mount the fan blades and escutcheon plates and then plug in the switch control, which is now a simple plug-in connector you can't put in wrong. Do all the final checks and supply power. This one has no remote control, which isn't a priority for us, as we use a wall mount light switch for ON/OFF and leave the fan set at the #2 level because it moves the air better. The fan is a 52" diameter and will fit well in a room size of at least 12x12ft. Our room is 20x20ft and does the job well. Plus it is VERY QUIET! A plus for sure, even at the #2 speed setting. Using five blades in my opinion makes it smoother and quieter compared to our four blade units. I don't hear any humming from the motor at all. Whether you purchase this fan or another brand, I highly suggest you bench test the unit before you go through the trouble/work of getting it all installed, hope it works, only to find out there's an issue and have to take it down again. Worth every penny! This Hunter 52-inch ceiling fan looks fantastic in my living room. The matte black finish is sleek and matches my decor perfectly. I love the multi-speed motor and the pull chain control makes it easy to adjust. It's very quiet while running, which is great for movie nights or relaxing. The height is adjustable with included downrods, and the traditional design adds a nice touch. Overall, a great quality fan that I would definitely purchase again.

I was replacing a 25 year old Hunter Fan that was still working great when it was damaged by workmen. This fan installs like the old one. A much smaller motor (25 years newer technology or cheaper overseas parts? Who is to say?) Two extension rods from which to choose and plenty of spare wire in the event you need a 24" rod for a vaulted ceiling. Installation straighforward, and extra screws included for those who dropped one and it rolled away into the night (Yep). The old Hunter fan was dead silent in operation. This one has a very slight hum, but not so much that it is objectionable. I paid three hundred dollars 25 years ago for the old fan, I paid seventy dollars for this one. Looks good, and is a great value. Will likely order this again when I replace other fans in the home.

Bought one for our master bedroom. Liked it enough to buy a second one to replace the old one in our living room. Both work great circulating air. We live in Central Oregon where it gets hot in July. We don’t have AC & don’t think we need it with these. Because of our high ceilings I bought 3’ extension rods. It was a project but not too bad, maybe 90 minutes They look great too

Mr William W. Wood. In below reviews, i have faced the same issue ! I agree with you There was a humming sound. Yes. My fan blew off with a smell. This is a defect? I connected to normal ceiling 220v And smell started coming and it stopped working. :-( I paid an amount in which i could buy a AC. But it ended up in this. How can i get an replacement

This is a quality built fan. It is very quiet and it moves a lot of air. Fantastic value! It is rare to find a product where the assembly instructions are good, but these instructions are amazing. They are well thought out and very easy to follow. We liked this fan so much we purchased two more.
