OMT Wheel Bearing Puller Tool Compatible with Harley Davidson Motorcycles

Bought a set an on the first use the big nut got stripped and couldn’t use it. Immediately got a replacement and look for info on how to avoid this. Be sure to use 3 in 1 oil on the threads and heat the wheel around the bearings with a torch. Use wd40 around the bearings. After that this tool worked perfectly.

If I could give this no stars, I would. The large nut is the wrong size for the threads machined into the removal tool. When I first spun the nut onto the tool, I noticed it had a lot of play, but I figured, what the hell, I would give it a try. The second the nut bottomed out against the base and had any load put on it, it started skipping threads. I removed the nut and tried it on another one of the removal tools in the kit. I could literally move the nut back and forth on the threads just by pulling and wiggling it. Another review said the nut was M18x1.0. Nope, that's not it either. An M18 nut seemed like the correct diameter, but the thread pitch was not right. At that point I figured this POS was junk anyway, so I tried forcing the M18 nut onto it to see if I could rethread it. I didn't have the correct die and didn't feel like buying one just to fix a brand-new tool. That didn't work either. I'm also not paying $500 for the JIMS tool. That's absolutely ridiculous for something I may only use a few times. I found a similar tool from OTC for around $180 that looks like it is much better quality than this one. I'll update this review once I receive the OTC tool and have a chance to try it.

I bought this specifically to change out my wheel bearings on my Harley FXDL. The cost of this tool was less than half the labor to have someone else do the work. Pulling the bearings out worked great and easy to use first try. The installer was a bit tricky but if you keep everything straight and bearing perpendicular to the race it works fine. Great investment if you have more than one bearing replacement to do. If not, it may easier to take it to a mechanic with the proper equipment. Recommend this product for DIY'ers with a little experience changing out bearings.

If you know how to properly work a bearing puller this will get the job done. I’m convinced some of the other reviews are from people that misused it. I have 25mm bearings on my bike and without a single issue I pulled old and installed new bearings quickly and easily. I spent less than 30 minutes on the install. Super fast. All the materials feel very well built and durable. I couldn’t find a better value for the money. Zero slip perfect fit and built to protect the finish of your wheels.

Definitely worked the quality of the hardware wasn’t the best had to get a second one but would still recommend it for the price made the job way easier

I don't understand the negative reviews. I pulled my front bearings on a 16 Electra glide ultra in about 10 minutes. Unit pulled them perfectly I have yet to install the replacements yet. I do believe that the pullers are a little undersized but that eased putting them in and once in I tightened it up a bit and pulled it out untill it slid under the bearing and then tightened it up and pulled it out no problem. I also tightened up the expansion bolt before use to spread it open some. Nice addition to my toolbox

As others have stated the nut is junk! After opening the box I checked all threads and the main nut had damaged threads! Cleaned it up and didn't even get a full turn with the wrench trying to pull the bearing and it starting slipping. Went to auto stores and hardware stores and nobody had a replacement nut to fit these beating pullers. Dont waste your time with this!!!

Probably doesn't deserve three stars, but some finagling got the job done. You wouldn't want to rely on this tool regularly. The biggest problem with the set I received was the long installation bolt. The provided nut was tight on the threads, so my thought was to run the nut all the way down the threads with some oil to loosen things up. The further I went the tighter until it wouldn't budge. Somehow trying to back the nut off produced the same effect until the nut would not turn with a for foot pipe on the wrench. I had to cut about an inch off the end of the bolt with the nut all but welded on the end of the bolt. This I took to a hardware to find a nut with the closest fit to the threads on the cut off tip - 1/2 inch. The next step was cutting the threads with a tap and die set, as the new 1/2 inch nut would not follow the factory threads. If every set made by this company is like this, count on this being the solution other than buying your own long bolt and nut for installing you bearings. An additional word if caution: be gentle with the threads on the bearing extractor.

Kit looks well manufactured. Not used as yet but sure it will do the job.

Changed one set of bearings worked just fine. You will have to figure out wrench sizes as you go as the instructions seem to be wrong.

Very cheap Quality Hardware. The nut stripped on the first time using it and I was absolutely within the parameters of its capabilities I didn't even exceed 60 foot pounds and the nut stripped now I have to return the whole thing because it's useless with it the nut and try and get another nut they don't sell them
