It seems like this would have to be cleaned after every use? Doesn't the lotion or bronzer or whatever you use dry out and get nasty after each use?

Depends on your ick tolerance. Some people can use this for a week and not mind. I can’t. I apply lotion on my back after a shower. I find I have to handwash with body wash and rinse this applicator right after and hang to dry in the bathroom so it’s clean and dry for the next day. Washing in a washer is not practical for me since I only use my washer when I have a full load. I don’t have a full load to wash daily.

Will this work for serums?

I have used this applicator for both lotions and oils and it has worked very well. I have not had the opportunity to use an actual serum but I don't see why it wouldn't be just as effective.

Does it work well with Tanning oils?

Yes, the product will work the same with oils as well.

I usually use spray sun block when I go outside. Can I spray onto the applicator and have it work that way?

I don't think that would work, as the spray would be absorbed quickly by the applicator. You could try sunscreen lotion, but I don't know if the application would be equal across the entire back. The result might be a splotchy tan!
