Can this be used to convert a ceiling fan that has pull chains into a fan that can just be controlled by the remote?

Of course it can. If your fan have pull chain switch, before using the wireless remote control, use the switch to turn the fan speed to maximum and turn the fan light on. In this way the switch and the wireless remote control can be used together.

Some LED lights are non-dimmable, light dimmer only supports the ON/OFF function in that case, and it may cause to flicker when using the dimming function.
