The "must-have" gift book for loom knitters by the top expert on the subject, the second edition of Loom Knitting Primer: A Beginner's Guide to Knitting on a Loom with Over 35 Fun Projects is now updated to reflect the newer looms on the market. This new edition still contains everything you need to know about loom knitting, like gauge, yarn thickness, increasing, decreasing, color work, different cast on and off methods, and more. Additionally, it includes Isela Phelps's precise and easy how-to instructions, now newly updated, for making basic stitches and variations, and for using all the different types of looms, round and long looms, currently in the market. The project section is also updated to include more specific information about the looms used, with a handy chart of all the looms, with their gauges, currently on the market. But what hasn't changed is the straightforward information and the need for this book, making it the one to have for all loom knitters. If you only purchase one loom knitting book, this is the one to get! Review: Super Helpful Guidebook for Loom Knitting & Felting - 10/10 would absolutely recommend. If you're a beginner, get this guidebook!! Having never loomed before, I recently purchased an adjustable loom that allows you to modify the loom's size & configuration (i.e., straight, board, & round/circular,) depending on your project. I had no clue where to begin & started looking for some sort of beginner's guide or pattern book when I found this one, which was reported to cover knitting in the round, board knitting, & even felting, as well as a variety of beginner-friendly patterns. I was skeptical, but could not be more satisfied with my purchased! Whether you know what you want to make or you're looking for somewhere to start, if you're a beginner, I would absolutely recommend this book!! For my first project, I decided to make a flat panel garter stitch blanket in the round with bernat blanket yarn (go big or go home!), & thus far, it has been an incredibly useful resource to have on hand. Worth every penny! It goes into detail explaining things free video tutorials often dont, & has been super helpful to use/reference along with free online video tutorials. I love it! & have even gone as far as tabbing out the sections I find most helpful. In dedicated sections, through detailed descriptions & pictures, it covers everything you need to know (e.g., equipment & materials, casting on/binding off, stitches & stitch combinations, fixing dropped stitches, linking bind offs, creating flat panels, shaping, working with color, etc.), & offers a wide range of starting points, beginner-friendly patterns, & even explains how you can modify various patterns to suit your personal needs or specific measurements. If you're on the fence, just get it!! Review: Wonderful Loom Reference Guide - It was easy to get started looming with this book. I really like the projects. The instructions are crystal clear and easy to follow. I was afraid of knitting patterns, but the loom patterns are all easy to use for making lace and cable stitches.

Good begginer book
The book is really good for those just starting out. It covers the basics, although some of the terminology is a little poorly explained (like yarn over) and the beginning of the book uses the term "North American Indian". It's 2023...it's Native American or indigenous peoples. The drawings are pretty good but I would have preferred actual photos. You'll still need to occasionally look up a video for what's shown, at least for me, but all in all, it's a great starter guide

If You Are a Loom Knitter…This Is For You!
I borrowed this initially from my local library and found it so informative that I bought the book used. Lots of step-by-step pictures, detailed projects and one of the rare books dedicated to loom knitting. I recommend if loom knitting is your thing although for regular needle knitting-I don’t think it will be as helpful.

Loom Knitting Primer
I bought the book to replace the ones I lost in a fire. This is a better book as it has many patterns and ways to work them. I recommend the book .

Not for 3/8 gauge projects
Instructional drawings just ok, I will still need u-tube. Big disappointment was all projects are for bulky and super bulky yarns :( I'm a long time crocheter and have no use for yarns in the 5 and 6 range. My yarn stash is a little out of control so I want to be able to use the yarn I have lol. It seems to me that they could've included some smaller gage projects since there were more than 1 scarf, hat etc (all large gauge!) Look elsewhere for patterns using worsted weight or smaller.

Loom knitting but not necessarily for beginner.
It’s a very nice book. I think it’s great if you already know something about loom knitting. I know very little about it so I am struggling to figure it out.

Great reference
Great book with basic instructions for round looms and knitting boards. Written descriptions, photos, and Illustrations make it easy to leanin how to cast onn, bind off, shape, and do various stitches. I reference it when I need a refresher or want to try something new.

Excellent Guide
I have looked at the guide, in anticipation of Fall and Winter Season. I have done Loom Knitting for about 11 years but it was just trial and error - lots of error. Now, I have a guide to follow, already noted the proper way to 'start' a cast on and lots new patterns to try. Thank you for doing this guide book.
