Delicious
I got these because of doctor who and I see why they choose these for the doctors snack, It's sweet and fall apart in your mouth. Unlike regular gummies when you chew and hurt your jaw from chewing, these are an excellent replacement for that gummie fix

... was worried I'd order this big bag and not like them as much as Bassett's
I was worried I'd order this big bag and not like them as much as Bassett's. I'm glad I took the risk - they're great!!! I'm not sure I'm getting as strong a black currant flavor off the black ones, but that may just be faulty memory on my part. Follow up a few months after ordering my first bag (6/2/2015): I'm so hooked on these things that I found it was more economical to do an Amazon Subscription for these, which means you're also ordering THREE of the 2.2lb bags at a time. I'll just make sure to restrict myself to a renewal period of no less than 4 months to pace myself. So far I've only opened the first bag, which gets split between containers to be kept at work and at home. No problems with the jelly babies drying out or anything like that. One issue - when I first ordered a bag of these years ago, the green/lime ones were not green - they were a very off-putting brown color. When I got hooked on these again, the lime/green ones were always green - up until the time I ordered the three 2.2lb bags. They're all the same unattractive baby poop brown. They still taste good at least...I wonder if there's something about the natural (?) green color that doesn't like warmer weather during traveling? I agree with others that the blackcurrant flavor is a bit more grape...

A different kind of gummy
These are not like your ordinary American gummy bears, gummy worms, or even gummy fruit snacks. They are gummy, but a bit drier/flakier than that - like a closer to a dense and squishy foam than a gel. The flavors are surprisingly authentic, quite fruity and all of them distinct. They are sweet but not overly so; they have some mild chew to them. I usually have two are three at a time for a little snack. I don't think I'd order them again, because they aren't quite my thing and I prefer the Welch's style fruit snacks, but I'd recommend giving them a try if you haven't had them before, they're interesting and you get plenty in the bag to share around.

NOT Original English Jelly Babies
This is manufactured by Gerrit J. Verburg in the Netherlands. Labeling this as Original English Jelly Babies is purposely misleading and fraudulent. Real Jelly Babies are softer, have different flavor and texture and are covered in powdered sugar. In short, this is nothing like real English Jelly Babies. I used to buy real Jelly Babies from SweetGourmet and I have bought quite a few other treats from them but this time they've exploited customers and done a serious disservice. I doubt I'll buy anything from them again because of it.

Disappionting though hopeful some changes could be made. As they have potential.
As a DR Who fan I wanted these to be stellar. They, unfortunately were not. The jelly itself had a good texture, nice bite and chewiness without being too sticky on the teeth. These are not gummies, they are jellies like you'd get from orange or peppermint slices. You know the ones that come in wedge form, with crystal sugar on the outsides? Anyway, the issue I have is with a very bland flavor which is too sweet. Also they coat these in corn starch to keep them from getting sticky but the ones I received had so much starch coating that I was barely able to differentiate between the different colors. I'd also expected different colors to give different flavors. But the flavors were so bland they all tasted the same. So sad. And the starch taste on the outsides definitely did not help. I've written to them suggesting they try to make the insides of the jellies more flavoful, a bit more tart and to change the outside coating to something less like flour in taste and texture.

Worthy Jellie Babies at a great price.
These Gustaf's Jelly Babies packaged by SweetGormet are not the exact same as the Bassetts, but they are excellent They have I think one different flavor which is pear (delicious) they have the same dusting of white powder that to me seems more like a cornstarch to prevent sticking than any type of powdered sugar (same as the Bassetts) These are some lovely Jelly Babies. I think they are a bit chewier than the Bassett's which I like better.. I very much enjoyed the bag they came packaged in. It was resealable sturdy constructed bag that I believe protects the Jelly Babies much more than the standard bag the Bassetts come in. They were also much cheaper here in the US as they are packaged here in the US (appears to be a product of Holland) I will be getting these again.

Great size for sharing!
Like everyone else in the U.S. who likes these, I was introduced to them through Tom Baker in Doctor Who. I saw the show as a kid (after he had left it) and a friend of mine bought these at some convention and shared exactly one because he only had the one bag. I don't think I had them again for many years. I don't eat a lot of sweets, but for some reason these fill a niche for me when I have a sweets munchie. I also was disappointed in them when I tried them so many years ago. So, I don't know if my tastes changed or I acquired the taste. They really aren't like most American sweets. For my personal sweet tooth, I tend to buy the smaller 6 bags of Bassets because the bags are about the right size for me to open up and slowly finish off without them just getting stale. So, it's just about the perfect size. When sharing them at work ("Want a jelly baby?"), I buy Gustaffs because they are cheaper and more of a bulk bag. Both are good, but they do seem to taste a bit different to me. Very similar, but a bit different (unless I'm just crazy, which is always possible). Both are good and fit the same "category" of taste for me. I suppose that's a personal thing how something tastes anyway. It really is a unique taste I don't get out if other American sweets and is my number one preferred sweet treat--at least at the moment. :)
