Be careful of your buyer, they may have a fake
This game is really fun and should not be missed. But some people that sell the game (most all of them) have a fake copy or are trying to sell you a fake copy. These fakes work fine but they will randomly delete all your save data and most of the time not let you transfer your pokemon. These fakes can be spotted by just looking at the game card. If it has a label that's put on poorly (aka by hand) its most likely a fake. One sure way to tell is to look at the inside of the game. If you can see a yellow circle hidden slightly by the sticker on the front, ITS A FAKE. The yellow thing is a battery that's cheaper and wont last as long. But the most sure way to tell if the game is fake is by turning it on. If it goes the the title fine it may still be fake. Pressing start should bring up the the save file. If its say's something like "The game data can be loaded" then "The game can be played" THIS IS 100% SURE A FAKE. I hope this helps any one trying to get a good real copy of this game. The best way to not end up with a fake is saddly just to buy a new one, even though its gonna cost a lot.

Top tier quality
I ordered off of the seller, lollipop3, 3 times already and I would absolutely order off of this seller again I’ve ordered leafgreen, legend of Zelda classic nes series, and this game, ruby Without getting off topic with the other carts, the ruby cart is 100% authentic and I don’t remember what the posted condition was, but it is in very good quality and looks like as though it has been used very, very slightly or has been through normal day usage The sticker isn’t peeling anywhere nor is it in any bad shape. Also the cart’s shell isn’t damaged either Also props to the seller putting the warning in the listing that the internal battery is dry so I could get some batteries ahead of time All I need now at the time of making this review is Pokémon Red and I’ll have all of the mainline Pokémon gb/gbc/gba games and then I’ll work on getting all of the DS games and when I do, I’ll make sure to look out for any of lollipop3’s listings.

Pokémon Ruby, an authentic experience
I missed out on Generation 3 of Pokémon when I was a kid, and I wanted to get a GBA game. I saw Pokémon Ruby for sale and was a bit worried when I saw the pictures—I mean they did hit the right notes as to real vs fake cartridges (imprinted numbers on the label, the quadrants on the top left corner in the back of the board), but I wanted to see it for myself. After getting it, I’m absolutely pleased with the purchase. This cartridge is in better quality than I expected: it was at an affordable price, it’s clean, no “dried battery” message—it feels like I got this game when it first came out! I’m glad I get to experience the third generation of Pokémon in an authentic way (on top of being able to get Regigigas in a legit method now, migrating the three Regis over to Diamond/Pearl/Platinum)

Faulty copy.
I ordered this game last weekend because I was feeling a certain nostalgia, got the actual game a week before they estimated it would get here so I was very happy to receive it. The game worked perfectly for about.. a day and a half, then after I saved and turned it off, upon booting the game back up and loading my save, all characters were invisible and/or absent and I could not move. Upon starting a new game, I could not even see Birch at the beginning due to him being invisible. I did not tamper with the cartridge or anything along the lines of that, it simply just stopped working properly. Also there are a few stains on the outside, maybe even inside, of the cartridge of unknown origin that were present at the time of receiving the game. I will never buy from this seller again, or possibly any used games dealer. Waste of my hard-earned money.

Watch out for bootlegs!
The game itself is great, almost no complaints other than the fact its probably one of the hardest in the series as the Elite Four and Gym Leaders are rather over-leveled and know really good moves. However, when you're BUYING this game off Amazon, CONTACT THE SELLER AND ASK FOR A PICTURE OF THE LABEL IF POSSIBLE. Check that you don't buy a bootleg version by mistake. There are videos on YouTube that show you how to tell whether if your cartridge is a bootleg or the real deal just by looking at the label. Bootleg versions have faulty save functions no matter how long the cartridge has been used. They will save but your save file is always at a high risk of deleting itself, especially if you're playing it on a DS (in other words, a seller telling you that the game saves properly won't be enough). One sure fire way to tell if you have a bootleg version is if whether there is a message about your save file every time you start up the game. If the game ever says "The save file will be loaded..." or "The save file has been deleted..." when you get to the main menu, then you have a bootleg copy.

Decidedly retro
This is an older game I got for my oldest son - he is a Pokémon fan and has been very interested in the history of these games. He picked up a book that mentioned Ruby as a precursor to the more modern 3DS games, and just had to play it. Note one thing...these older games had batteries in them that are probably long since dead. Enterprising people could probably open the cartridge to replace the battery, but in our case it didn't seem to be strictly necessary. This cartridge will play on the Game Boy Advance or the older Nintendo DS. It will not play on the 3DS. My son enjoys the game, he says. It's typical Pokémon, and if you're looking at this then you probably know what that all means. All in all, it's an interesting look at what the state of the art used to be and just how far mobile gaming as come.

Authentic cartridge
It is a legitimate copy of sapphire and has a new battery, but works just fine. One way to identify a real copy is to see if the the back of the motherboard has the 4 small rectangles on the top left and three circles going down on the right. On the outside of the cartridge there is usually more often than not a number stamped into the sticker.

arrived promptly and was well packaged (game only in bubble wrap, no box / guide (i.e. stuff that comes in a brand new pokemon game) - but this is to be expected, and was described as such by seller). the battery has been replaced and the game functions as it should nintendo have taken steps to make counterfeit copies unplayable / wipe the game when interracting with newer games (e.g. diamond and pearl) I have linked it with other pokemon games, and I am in no doubt that this is an authentic copy is a slight imperfection (as if the cartridge is misaligned by a fraction of a millimetre, would describe it as an infinitismally minute click / wobble when the cartridge is in the GBA) which I suspect came from the battery being replaced (as i don't have this thing on gba games that have not been opened up / old pokemon games), however it has no bearing whatsoever on the playability of the game, and doesn't jeopordise the hardware at all. frankly, i suspect that this is just me being a pedant, and that it is a 1 off (not noticable) imperfection. now just to catch 'em all...

The seller was helpful to notify the status of the purchase and delivery. At the end, the delivery was earlier than the expected delivery date. I am a satisfied customer.

Honestly I forget how amazing the postage is on games like this! Turning up literally two days after being ordered is totally my number 2 reason to ever consider buying Pokémon games again! Sapphire was the first ever hand-held console game I ever played and the nostalgia trip I got the moment I saw the start title screen was amazing, I'd highly recommend anyone buys this game just on the bases that it arrives pretty quick, comes in brilliant condition and just works perfectly. If that's not enough information for someone to get this they're totally missing out on an amazing game that was the best game of my childhood, right up there with the original Spyro trilogy!
