Nice simple comb that just works
Needing a basic comb for my thinning, graying hair, I picked this up after my daughter suggested it. The teeth are close together, so it smooths my fine hair without snagging. I keep it by the bathroom mirror and use it every morning before my walk. One morning I realized how small it is, so it slips easily into my handbag for my water aerobics days. That made me especially glad I bought it. It feels sturdy without being heavy, and it’s easy to rinse clean when I use a little styling cream. Nothing fancy, just a good everyday comb that does its job.

Great for curls
I use this comb to comb through my curls. It works great because it helps separate my curls without poofing them. My daughter loves it as well, so I got her her own so she stops taking mine.

Good quality basic comb
It is constructed with a hard plastic, it's durable, and reasonably priced. I recommend this brand if you're looking for a basic men's comb that lasts a long time.

Perfect for anyone with hand pain
I love this comb! I broke three fingers on my right hand almost two years ago, and since then it's been difficult to use traditional flat detangling combs. This comb is much easier to hold, works great, and puts far less strain on my fingers. I'm so glad I found it!

A small comb for my desk
I ordered this during a late-night browse because my old comb had vanished into the usual desk-drawer black hole. As a remote software dev, I spend too many mornings going from bed hair to camera on in about five minutes, so I wanted something simple to keep near my monitor. The seven-inch size fits in the drawer without taking over the little space I have, and the black finish looks plain enough that it doesn’t feel like a random bathroom item sitting beside my keyboard. The fine teeth work nicely on my thin-to-medium hair for smoothing down the sides and fixing my part. I used it yesterday before a video call, with one hand still holding coffee, and got things looking presentable in under a minute. It feels straightforward rather than fussy, which is exactly what I wanted for a quick morning reset. I also like that I can hold it securely while combing without making careful little adjustments. Glad I bought it for the desk drawer.

Big comb, does the job
At first, when I saw the size I thought it was too big…. When I went to untangle my hair…. It turned out to be the best comb I have had. My hair is really curly and damaged due to chemical treatments… I had an awful time attempting to untangle it to the point I just stopped. This comb is big, wide toothed and has increased space between the teeth …. It made the task much simpler…

A comb is just a comb... except when it breaks
When a comb breaks, it becomes useless, especially if it's missing a number of teeth. You can no longer comb your hair with it, as you'll likely as not leave strange patterns on your head, depending on how many teeth are missing. I feel like an expert on this, as many of the combs that I've bought over the past few years have ended up this way. Finding the ACE Combs All Purpose 7" Comb here was just a matter of chance when I was looking for something else entirely unrelated. It was sitting there in the "Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought" just below the CR2032 Lithium-ion batteries that I had been considering, and yet it was quite coincidental because YADC (Yet Another Drugstore Comb) had broken a few days before. And this was specifically the one that I had been looking for, the personal flashback model, the one with half regular and half fine teeth, the kind that I had used years ago yet seem to be missing from the drugstore shelves and racks today. I grabbed it. I could have bought the ACE All Purpose Mock Turtle Finish Comb , but I had been looking for the old, original black hard rubber comb that I had remembered from earlier times, the one with about 65 fine teeth and around 35 regular teeth. And when it arrived I checked it out and that's exactly what it is. I don't know if it's still made of hard rubber anymore, but it didn't snap when I flexed it, so I have no complaints so far. For those who are prone to losing them, there's also the ACE Comb, 7"All Purpose (Pack of 3) , which may be confusing as the product specs say "1 Piece count," but it's a pack of three of these as reviewed above, just from a different distributor at the time of this writing. While I was waiting for my original order to arrive, curiosity about the origins of combs made look up the history of these simple gadgets that we take for granted until they break. They're among the oldest tools found by archaeologists. As early as 5500 B.C. the ancient Egyptians carved out combs, and in ancient China, they were worn as hair accessories that reflected one's social status. Combs have been discovered in very various forms from settlements dating back to 5,000 years ago in Persia. In their earliest forms, combs were carved from wood and sometimes from bone. Tortoiseshell and ivory were common high-fashion combs, but concerns for animals' rights shifted to predominantly wooden, hard rubber and plastic combs. There are said to be three types of combs; functional hair combs, decorative combs and flea combs. Regular hair combs are used to style and maintain ones hair. Decorative combs are meant to dress up the hair, and serve absolutely no purpose in taking care of your hair. Flea combs are used to search for tiny parasites like fleas, lice or crabs. And do note that sharing combs is not recommended, as that's a common method of transmitting fleas, crabs, lice and even infections. So to keep your hair and scalp healthy, wash your comb regularly with a decent shampoo. I hope that you found this bit of trivia about the humble comb to be interesting if not enlightening. As I noted in the beginning: a comb is just a comb... except when it breaks. Mine is still going strong. 4/12/2012

Goody, goody gumdrops - this is a GOOD comb!
Goody, goody gumdrops - this is a GOOD comb! Seriously though, the Goody Brand has been around forever and it is much better quality than cheaper combs out there - made to last many years! This one is great; has a comfortable handle. It is quite large and the space between 'teeth/tines' of the comb is on the larger size. Works well for my long hair to help "preserve the natural curl" that a finer tooth comb will just brush out!
