When the timer goes off does it keep reminding you until you end it? If I am outside and miss the initial alert does it remind?

No it does not, it will automatically shut off at 30 seconds on all 3 models, and stay off to preserve battery. The beeper is quite loud and you might hear it outside if you are near, but no it will shut off after 30 sec. and stay off.

Can i set the timer for seconds as well as minutes? i'll use it as a sports timer and want to set it for 2min 45 sec. will i be able to set it?

Yes, all you need to do is hit the minute button til it stops at 2 then hit the seconds button til it stops at 45. Then hit start and it will start the count down. It has an auto memory so if you hit start again (after previous count down) it will once again count down from 2min. 45 sec. over and over until you input a new setting.

Does this timer have a warning beep at 10 minutes and 5 minutes before final timer goes off?

No, it does not have a pre beep. It will go off at the exact time desired and beep for 32 seconds if the stop button is not pressed first. It will then not beep again until reset.

Can you read it in the dark?

No, you can not read it in the dark. There is no back light.
