Cyber Gun

I've been getting into making these little wooden puzzles, and had been wanting a rubber band gun to plink around the house with. I was torn between this one and the Wolf-01 from Ugears - I'll eventually get that one, I'm sure. However these... these have been a blast! Building it was a lot of fun, though it is worth mentioning you will want to make sure you have a sharp knife or exacto knife on hand - one of the issues I ran into is I didn't cut some of the toothpicks flush on some of the parts, causing my rubber band gun to seize up once. Once I realized that was the problem, I was able to clear it out and now the action is much smoother! I ended up liking the build and gun that I ended up picking up two of them, and the second one went much smoother! I would definitely recommend it - I think both kits took me about 1-2 hours each. Easy to put together, and they come with everything included except for a knife (and maybe a set of needle-nose pliers to help break the tooth picks cleanly. I just scored the bottom of the toothpicks with the exacto knife and snapped them that way, sanding down the break-off point to make it look neater.) I also had to test support, as while troubleshooting the first gun I damaged one of the pieces that keeps the gun held close. However, Wood Tricks was quick to send a replacement part to resolve the issue, so so far I'd highly recommend these!

I love the design of this and it took some time to build which was perfect for me when I needed something to do on my spare time. The separate mags is also interesting and it's fun to fiddle with, but I had followed the manual closely and I have not gotten this to work. I took it apart and tried different approaches and even re-did what I saw on the manual and I just can't squeeze the trigger once mag is loaded. Although I was disappointed in not being able to barrage someone in rubber bands it's still a nice thing to keep at my desk and toy with.

I bought this for my son. We've been building it together. Fun activity. Made well enough.

The gun will not work as designed. The puzzle is difficult but not impossible to put together (could have been five stars, but); the materials are incredibly cheap and will break easily if you are not careful (would have been four if I could have stopped there, but); The gun requires a number of small rubber bands for internal mechanisms, those rubber bands are super brittle and break almost as soon as you look at them, also there are not any extras (that would have dropped it to three, but); the firing mechanism as it is designed will not work, it requires a rubber band to wrap around the firing pin which is held in place by two stationary toothpicks, the band simply loses tension on the toothpicks, not moving the pin at all and nothing can be done to fix the issue based on the design and instructions (would have been an angry two stars, but); quality control on these is horrible, I ordered two and one came with missing pieces. I opened the box which was still sealed in plastic, the internal pieces were still sealed in plastic as well, opened those up and there were pieces punched out and missing! Luckily I was able to use the rubber bands from the second kit to replace the broken bands from the first one, at least. However, I still don't have a working model, incredibly disappointed, not worth the time effort or money, (it earned it's one star).

I like this one. The thickness of the wood makes it sturdy and the parts don't feel like they are going to snap when you remove them. The direction are simple and easy to understand. Overall I think it's great. I haven't completed it yet but when I do I can't wait to test it out on the targets!

This is the first product I've bought I've felt was bad enough to return back to Amazon and also leave a review for. First and most importantly, I assembled the product exactly as the instructions instructed and feel that it can be dangerous to allow kids to construct this by themselves. The product has some parts that are held together by cocktail sticks which by itself wouldn't be too big of an issue however the tolerances of the holes pre-cut into the wood can be so tight that the amount of force needed to push the cocktail sticks into the wooden pieces even if you wax them is so much that I could see someone getting hurt quite badly if their hand slips. On top of this, the instructions at some parts actually direct you to press pieces into place with your hand in the path of these sticks which are quite sharp and the instructions don't direct you to sand them down to be more blunt or anything. The wood quality itself is quite low with the majority of the smaller pieces splintering when being popped out of the wooden sheet and no spare parts being on the sheet itself incase any of these pieces break which did happen to me during construction but was able to be glued back together. The instructions while badly thought out in my opinion with the whole pressing your hand into cocktail sticks were clear and easy to follow however a lot of the text I couldn't seem to find an English translation for on the sheet. The construction itself took about 2 1/2 hours and left my hands quite bruised and sore which I'm still feeling a few days after buying this and while it was actually painful to construct this. If the quality of the wood was a little better than the tolerances on the parts weren't so bad this could be a relatively fun and easy thing to make. Unfortunately, after fully assembling the puzzle I was disappointed to learn that the mechanism to fire the rubber bands doesn't actually work. After taking a closer look at the mechanism it appears that the trigger piece was improperly laser cut and doesn't actually reach the little hook that needs to be pulled on to release the rubber band though I can't be for certain this is exactly why it didn't work and is just my observation. After assembly and having the problems I had I looked back on the product listing and looked at the reviews which I should've done from the start and noticed that the majority of the reviews of this product that are from the UK are between 1 and 3 stars. I'm not sure if this means that the product that is sent to the UK has some flaws as I noticed some reviews had the same issue with the puzzle not firing. I'm thankful that Amazon has refunded my purchase and I have since used the money to buy a similar product from a different brand that has thankfully been a much more pleasant experience to build and actually fires.

Ich habe bereits mehrere Holzbastelprodukte von unterschiedlichen Herstellern und kann nur sagen, WoodTrick ist vom Aussehen sehr gut. Aber bei der Funktion versagen fast alle Produkte. Bei Herstellern wie ROKR oder UGears hatte ich bisher noch nie Probleme bei der Funktion. (Ich sehe WoodTrick nur noch als teures Brennholz)

The fittings are excruciatingly tight and are impossible to build without proper tools, at least not with the toothpicks they are giving you ... The firing system is somewhat unreliable, the fit is simply too tight even with all the sanding and buffering I did, one of the pin-wheels broke after a while. Cool piece to show friends but could have been made much better, with better fitting, better assembly and none wooden material on some parts to improve efficiency and durability.
