How similar is this game to Sushi Go?

Similar in that both are set building games with sets of different values and special ability cards that increase/decrease points. The math element of each is similar. The key difference is in the set-building mechanic. In Sushi Go, you draft your sets by passing the cards around the table. In Go Nuts for Donuts, there are cards face up on the table, and each player makes a secret bid for what they want. If two or more players select the same card, no one gets it. So there’s a different strategy to winning. We have both Sushi Go Party and Go Nuts for Donuts, and enjoy them both. Both feature similar art styles and some game play similarities, but they are different enough that they don’t feel like they overlap.

Do you need pen & paper to play this game?

No....great game for all ages in our family. You'll love it.

Do you have to be able to read to play this game?

Yes, each card has a different point scale and contingent strategy features. I play this game with my five year old and he can't read the cards. He's basically memorized what each card does. Otherwise you can always explain the way the cards score points. To be safe, this game is solid for 5+.

I'm searching for the game go nuts for donuts and that title shows up here, but the picture is for another game called empires of the north. help?

This is the donut game. Amazon’s catalog page has the wrong picture for this item.I would estimate about 50% of all Amazon catalog pages have errors of some sort on them these days. It’s a shame, they don’t seem to care about accuracy - only making money.
