Great game! Finally something different from Call of Duty
This game focuses on strategy and tactics to complete missions. This is NOT Call of Duty! If you run in, guns blazing, you will be taken out quickly. There are no re-spawns here so once you are dead, you are a spectator for the remainder of the match (which tend to last about 5 minutes). The entire game is designed around using the environment to your advantage. Their are different types of walls, windows, floors, and ceilings; some can be "breached" (blown up) fully, while others can be partially exposed (and some not at all). The graphics, especially with explosions and debris and very impressive! One of the most important aspects of this game is understanding how to use this to your advantage. If you are attacking, focus on getting a line of sight on your enemy where they don't expect. If you are defending, make sure to careful analyze your room for vulnerabilities. The variety of classes offered in the game is especially impressive! The base game has 10 attackers and 10 defenders, each with their own variety of guns and special skills. Trying out all the classes with different strategies is definitely one of the best parts of the game. The game also offers a large variety of maps in the base version, which definitely take some time to learn. Once you have the setups down, games become much more fluid. Even still, players throw curve balls my way all the time! The only disappointment for me was the lack of guns and mods. Pretty much every character has a choice between a "rapid fire" weapon (rifle or SMG) or shotgun and a secondary pistol. The mods consist of flash hider (which doesn't seem to effect much) or compensator, and things like an enhanced grip and laser sight. It didn't take long to purchase all the operators and mods, so now I'm just saving up for the new (free! no paid DLC required) characters! This, however, does not take away from the experience enough to sour my opinion of the game. It is a bit disappointing that the game does not include any single player campaign (besides some tutorial situations), however, the multiplayer is more than enough to provide hours of fun! The game is best played with a group of friends with mics to ensure communication and planning. Don't get frustrated!

Best FPS in a Decade
This is the best shooter I've played in over a decade (my top list in order of age MoH:AA, Halo2, MW2, BF3 and now Siege). I've been playing this game non-stop with my friends since December and we haven't slowed down. Ubi keeps releasing high quality DLC (including characters, weapons, maps, and un-lockables) and patch balances at no cost to the consumer - they have two more planned this year. Why do I love it? It's a methodical and tactical team work heavy game. Plugging in your mic and communicating with your teammates is critical to success. Sprinting through the world CoD style is going to get you w/ a K/D of .001. Nobody is going to spawn behind you because there are 3 minute rounds with no re-spawn. There is a ranked system which allows you to move up in levels - think Halo2 days. And there are items/customization items to unlock that I'm not even close to unlocking all of with this many hours deep. When you come back in a ranked match and it's you versus 5 others the adrenaline is like the good ol' days of a crucial match to get that 50 in Halo2 (never made it past 49 - was 50 possible without cheating?). I have one friend who bought it and stopped playing (only one who stopped, the others are addicts like me). He was always the guy in Halo3 (didn't know him for 2) when I'd be crouching in a room with a shotgun ready to trap someone, hold the lead as time expires, or want to do a pincer movement, he'd ignore my pleas for my teamwork and charge out into the open because he trusted his BR skills. If that's your style, he seems happy playing Overwatch so I suggest you pick that up instead. PS I don't get the reviewers who said this game isn't enough, or they didn't give enough content. There is a mini campaign mode in the Situations that allows you to get the feel for the game and even has a little bit of cut scenes. You don't need more than that from this game. The multiplayer is where the meat sits and Ubi continues to devote time to expand/perfect it. When a game can suck up this many hours it has more than 90% of the games I've wasted money on in the past (looking at you Battlefront trash).

Great Game That Gets NO LOVE
I ALWAYS wanted a game like this!! Some people will complain or have complained that there is no story mode - which there isn't. But do yourself a favor and do some research before you buy something, typically that is what a smart consumer does. Moving on, the reason why I LOVE this game so much is that you HAVE to communicate (via headset) with your teammates if you are going to succeed. Plan and coordinate how to you are going to breach a building or plane or whatever to rescue a hostage, disarm, or plant a bomb. The game mechanics are spot on, I have yet to come across ANY glitches. The game is just realistic, you can shoot through wooden walls and will someone, but don’t expect the same with concreate or steel enclosures. There are also a multitude of weapons and gadgets available depending on which agent you choose of course. You also have a RC camera so you can spot enemies and better plan for a breach or defense. You can also use surveillance cameras to spot hostile targets as they move around in halls and corridors or the grounds. You can also repel up or down buildings, crash through windows or wooden barricades. If you love espionage and applying tactics and team building, then this is a MUST by tom play with strangers online or with a group of friends. This is as real or as good as it gets without being so futuristic or sci-fiey.

People, consumers, need to do their homework.
All the one star ratings here need to relax. The game is not garbage. So allow me to address the complaints and good things about this game. Ok, so let me address the one and only complaint. This game has no campaign mode. If you have played prior rainbow six games this games developers have forgone with a traditional campaign. While it kind of sucks, because I love video games with story driven campaigns, the developers had released the fact prior to launch that this game was not going to have a campaign and that it was going to be online cooperative focused. People are one starring this game because they have to pay the ps+ subscription to play the online cooperative play. Ah, duh? They apparently didn't do their research prior to buying the game. Also, some complain on the amount of content. At launch it was also announced with a detailed outline of the entire first year, through 2016, of all the free updates/dlc that will be available, including new maps, operators, optional skins, etc. Now I kind of feel for some complaints where I believe the makers should have had an offline terrorist hunt available for people who don't want to play online. But at the same time the makers reiterated at many media covered events that this was going to be online competitive/cooperative focused. On a different note, my only complaint about the game is that I think that operators should have a bigger weapon variety to choose from. I like that operators have specific countries and therefor use weapons from those countries, but their are many more firearms out their, and equipment that should be in the game. And to address complaints about having to pay for intake content, it is OPTIONAL. As Said By Developers Many Times. And as said does not give a strategic advantage to the add on content which is only weapon skins and in game money earned boosts. Positive thoughts about the game. Tactics rule. The developers said that experience, tactics, and communication amongst teammates was going to be important, and that was nailed head on. This game relies on each of those for a team to be elite and work cooperatively to achieve victories. With a group this game is insanely fun and play enough together and you learn each other's strengths and weaknesses and grow off of that to develop your own skills and share tricks of the game with each other. The sounds of everything in the game are solid. The visuals, from wood splinters flying when a bullet sizzles through a wood wall or barricade, to the detail in overall destruction of the rest of the interior of the buildings creates new entry points or distractions to help eliminate the enemy or reach an objective. The game in my opinion is solid if you payed attention to what the developers said it was going to be, an online coop/competitive, tactical driven game. To my rating, I gave this game 4 stars because I was disappointed that their was no campaign or solo mission story. Otherwise, this game is a solid, modern, tactical, communication-oriented, multiplayer focused shooter with free content coming out for the next year. This game does not deserve low ratings or perfect ratings. It has its quirks but is overall a fun game. It is difficult but once you get the hang of it it's fun. So make some friends in game and hunt some terrorists!

I am addicted...
So I originally had access to the beta for this game when it first came out. At first I didn't like it so I went back to playing Call of Duty. A few my friend suggested I should get the game again but I was a little leary about it from playing the beta. Once I started to play the game I realize it's completely different gameplay from call of duty. After 2 days of playing the game I was completely addicted to the tactics and team play that is needed to actually accomplish the objective. Unlike call of Dutys linear gameplay you have to look around corners and think the process through prior to actually just going to the direct objective. This has been the type of game play that I have been waiting for since call of Dutys gameplay has just gotten more extreme of running around and jumping around. I would recommend this game to anyone that's looking for an alternative first person shooter. They are some bugs currently in at the game developers are working on which doesn't affect the game to the point that I don't want to play it, but they are currently working on a few patches. Once these patches are implemented the game will be solid. I look forward to the new operators they release every few months and the new maps that they are providing to everyone at no charge.

Rainbow Six: Siege
One of my favorite games I have ever purchased. I have sunk countless hours into this game and continue to keep learning new tactics with both different operators and maps. While this game doesn't require you to be online to play through the ten situations that I would recommend playing through to get a good grasp of controls and concepts, the game has no story mode so being online will be a necessity the majority of the time. I'd also recommend having a decent headset/mic that will really help you hear more and the direction from where your enemies are coming from. Communication is vital in this game so be sure to listen to helpful teammates and communicate intelligence with them. This game is essentially a team-based 5v5 tactical shooter where you play to win the majority of rounds and have only one life per round. Game modes include, Secure Area: Secure a location or kill the enemy team. Bomb: Plant/Defend a bomb site or kill the enemy team. Hostage: Rescue and extract/Defend a hostage or kill the enemy team. You only need a single bullet in this game, head shots kill instantly or with 3-5 body shots will put someone down. You'll make a lot of friends playing this game and is even more rewarding to play with them than solo. Have a fun time playing!

In a world of COD Clones, R6 Siege is the Tokyo rose of the trailer park.
This is probably one of the better first person shooters I've played in awhile. With everything playing like a call of duty game these days, it's refreshing to get an actual tactical shooter back. Sorry kiddies, no running and gunning here, that will get you shot. Siege sets you up with operators, attackers and defenders. Each one with a different "special" whether that he playing open walls with thermite, or emp'ing electronics with thatcher. Also, you don't get to pick a preferred weapon, each operator has their on preferred guns, the most you can do is choose from their main weapons which may whether be a machine gun, shot gun, or shield. But you can put scopes and silencers on them, or charms which are pointless, but hey smoke'em if you got'em. R6 Siege is best played online. Although you can play offline in this mode called situations, which are set up between rescuing hostages, defending hostages, or defusing bombs. There's also the usual terrorist hunt. But the Game is best played online.
