Is this pasta thin like vermicelli?

No this is not like vermicelli but regular spaghetti. It is the best pasta my husband and I have had and we eat a lot of pasta. While in Rome we ate at a small restaurant and loved the pasta. I took a picture of the package they used and have purchased ever since

what is the shelf life?

The "best if used by" date on a recent purchase is Jan 10, 2025. So about 3 years. Similar to other dried pasta. This is a very popular and recommended brand in Italy, though there are many good ones.
