These expanded within 24 hours of taking them out of the box. We washed the covers but did not notice a terrible smell- we just wash everything we bring into the house these days. I got one because I am having surgery. I got one for my husband because he snores like a bear. The height is perfect. If we want them higher, we can put something under them, but they do not cramp your neck like two or three pillows stacked. I am happy with this purchase.

I had retinal surgery where I had to be face down for 2 weeks. That meant sleeping on my face. I rented equipment to help with keeping me face down but the sleeping situation was awful. The pad pressed on my face so hard that after 20 min the pain was unbearable and I had to wake up and move to the couch for another 20 min. This pillow was amazing, but I had to cut a hole after measuring the size of my face and made some vent holes so I could breathe while face down. This was so comfortable that I was able to lay face down all night without pain which finally allowed me to get rest. Totally worth the money, was a Godsend.

Just did not work for me. Very large - and I am rather short - so it was really hard for me to use. Not for a short person. I felt like I was trying to slide down it constantly ---very hard for me......Needed it due to a medical problem I was having. Very nice quality - just not for me...

This is a pretty firm wedge, but the blue "foam" on top is a little softer than the under part... which is fine because all you really feel is the part you lay on anyway. The cover is nice (although hard to zip up if you're putting it back on after washing). The angle is a bit steep and I end up sliding off during the night, not sure what to do about that. I've tried a pillow under my knees but only helps so much. What I didn't notice at first when buying and bothers me now is that the bottom edge that you lay on is not tapered completely, it is a squared off edge. I have another wedge that I got for my husband that is tapered (a true wedge/triangular shape) so it transitions well into the mattress when laying on it and is more comfortable and you cannot feel the edge of it.

My doctor recommended a bed wedge to help with reflux. I wasn’t interested in spending a lot of money, so I chose this one. The package was so small that I thought I got the wrong thing. No. Somehow these things get squished into surprisingly small containers. The directions say to give it 48 hrs to fully expand but you can use it after a few hours. While I slept on it the first night, it too more like 72 hours to fully expand. It’s cool and comfortable to sleep on. It does take some getting used to so your head is up high enough on the wedge to really help with reflux. I did not notice any odors, and I’m pretty sensitive. If only I didn’t slide halfway down during the night, it would be ideal. However, I understand that’s a problem with all bed wedges. I can sleep quite comfortably both on my side and my back.

As usual, it arrived all scrunched up in a small HEAVY duty plastic bag. This pillow is REALLY BIG. It's at least 2 feet Wide. I opened it up & let it sit unused for over a week. It fully opened up EXCEPT underneath on the bottom was this HUGE DEEP CRUSHED IN HOLE... like 1/3 of the underside was CRUSHED IN. After over a week, I tried using it for a couple of days (watching TV in bed) & tried sleeping on it too. I LOVED IT, except for the HUGE DEEP SUNKEN HOLE UNDERNEATH. I shoved a small towel in the HOLE FOR SUPPORT. I already have 3 pillows on my Queen size bed, & I realized this Huge Pillow & TOWEL was really the last straw. As it is, the Kitty takes up HER HALF of the bed, so the "FAULTY PILLOW" was a good excuse to return it. I'll make do with the 3 expensive Pillows I already have. This FAULTY DEFORMED PILLOW was a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. This is why I will not buy one of those expensive FANCY SCHMANCY "rolled up" FOAM MATTRESSES. What do you sleep on if YOU HAVE TO RETURN IT? OH YEA... I always keep my old mattress in the middle of my dinky A## apt. for 60 or 90 days.... Don't you?

I primarily use it to reduce snoring so I did not rate the attribute - "pain relief". The pillow is made of good quality materials, both the foams and pillow case. It's comfortable, easy to get use-to and the descriptions/spec's on the site are accurate. The high-density foam retains its shape well, provides good support and the cooling gel foam layer seems to fulfill the breathability promise. The pillow case is soft, comfortable, easy to launder and seems to be durable. Overall a good quality product at a competitive price. Customer service is great - prompt, attentive and hassle-free - can't ask for more than that!

It was recommended that I have an incline pillow for sleeping after a bilateral mastectomy. Essentially, stomach sleeping is impossible and a flat prone position would be very uncomfortable. It was a solid recommendation and I am pleased that I followed up on it. Although I prefer sleeping in a recliner, I am able to easily manage at least 6 hours in bed with this pillow. it is easy to lie down into position and also to rise from the pillow. It took a bit of adjustment to identify the best position; however, I found that putting the small of my back at the base of the pillow was most effective. I do use a folded towel laid on this pillow for a head pillow. The unexpected benefit of this pillow is using it when sitting up in bed. It is the most comfortable back rest I have used. Consequently, I will continue to use it after I no longer need it for sleeping. I have no idea when that will occur however.

Good item

I've only used it a few nights so far. When I got it first, there was an awful strong smell, so I had to let it air out for at least 5 days. Definitely worth waiting for though. I find it very comfortable. I have acid reflux, so i have been wanting to try a wedge pillow for ages but was weary as I haven't always read good reviews. I also have back problems, so I need to use an orthopaedic pillow too, so the pillow actually works pretty well with the wedge. I was worried that I'd feel too high up but this isn't a concern, and I share a double bed with my partner. I have noticed that my acid reflux isn't as bad. I usually suffer every night. I also like to read in bed, so I've also turned the pillow over so that I can sit with my back to it, and I find this comfortable too. I hope that I'll get good use out of it, but I'd be happy now to spend the extra money on a more expensive one. I thought the price of this one was reasonable and worth it for my first time using one though.

Can't fault the item, it just wasn't for me. I kept sliding down the pillow during the night so it was pointless

Wedge shaped support pillow. It doesn't appear to entirely made of memory foam though, just as small 1" thick layer on top of much firmer type of foam that makes up the rest of the wedge. I'm also not convinced that item is new, as I removed the cover to wash it before use, the memory foam layer underneath is discoloured down the middle, like someone has already been laying on it. It doesn't smell used though and isn't misshapen in any way. The suspect condition of the pillow is why I've taken off 2 stars. Onto how effective it is. Surprisingly, it absolutely does the trick, I use Sleep as Android on my phone to track my sleeping and one of the features is recording how much you snore, usually my snoring can be anywhere between 12 and 20% per night, with lots of recordings of it. After using the pillow for one night, the percentage dropped to just 1%. I've tried lots of things to reduce my snoring and they simply didn't work, but this does appear to actually work.

This pillow is well made with a nice soft cover that can be removed for washing. I find the height of the wedge very comfortable to sleep on and it raises my upper body just enough to help ease the gastric reflux I suffer from.
