I did a lot of research on different straws that I could take with me to restaurants to avoid getting plastic straws, which are horrible for the environment. I decided that I wanted glass straws made in the USA. Then I found the Hummingbird glass straws - both straight and bent - made in the USA with many excellent reviews, and they were just what I wanted. I decided to get the bent straws, which I really like, as the bend is at a perfect angle. I had some questions and emailed the company, and their customer service was top notch, as they quickly responded to all my emails and answered all my many questions. The glass ends are smooth and rounded, unlike some other straws I saw with sharp edges, and each straw is handmade, which is unique in this day and age where so many items are mass produced. They say the glass straws are shatterproof, and they told me that they offer a lifetime guarantee. They also include a small brush for those times then sometime might get stuck, which I think is rare. There are some less expensive glass straws available, but I believe the Hummingbird price is reasonable for shatterproof handmade glass straws made in the USA with outstanding customer service and a lifetime guarantee. First I bought the 9" x 9.5 mm bent glass straws, and I find that they are good for smoothies, etc. I wanted something a little smaller for iced tea, so then I bought these 9" x 7 mm bent glass straws, and they are perfect for iced tea, soda, etc. I haven't tried them in smoothies. I also find the 9" length to be just right for regular height glasses, and even for the Starbucks frapuccino I bought. Overall, I am very pleased with these straws and highly recommend them. I wouldn't have ordered the second set otherwise.

I’ve purchased Hummingbird glass straws exclusively after trying multiple different ones. They are durable- never had one break in the dishwasher or after dropping. Can’t say the same for other brands I’ve tried. They aren’t too thick and they fit my 32oz glass tumbler perfectly!! Definitely worth the money.

The straws arrived safe and sound. These straws are small enough to go through the Starbucks sipping/drinking opening with a bit of force. It also fits the Yeti tumbler’s Magslide Lid’s opening. I like the rounded edge of straw so they are more comfortable to use without stabbing the inside of my mouth. They are now my go-to reusable straws. It’s easy to clean. Disclaimer: I use a different small bendable brush that I got with another set of metal straws.

I ordered two different brands. One because they were the only ones with the tips covers I wanted, but couldn't find separately and the set was inexpensive. The second, the Hummingbird straws because they are made in the USA and looked really nice. They are thicker glass and, I suspect sturdier than the others. They are also beautifully made with softly rounded tops and bottoms, and perfectly clear with no flaws. I can't rate durability because I just got them, but I think they will probably hold up well.

I noticed that the plastic straws that came with my tumblers would make water taste skunky after a few refills. And they never really got clean after washing them. So I began looking for glass straws to fit my existing tumbler (a glass tumbler with a plastic lid from Target) and these fit perfectly. 7mm is the ideal width. Anything bigger than that is too large for a standard store bought tumbler. These straws are the perfect size, sturdy, well-made. The packaging was neat, solid, and will serve perfectly to store my straws in between used. I will order more.

Overall happy with product. Just wish the opening was a little bigger. This is my second order of glass straws from this company. Loved the first. Recollection is that the first batch were a little bigger with a bigger opening.

Often, especially when driving, I like using a straw for water, coffee, or whatever. I'm careful to use only BPA-free plastics, but prefer ceramic, glass, or stainless steel for my beverages, especially hots ones. One day it dawned on me that I was still using plastic - disposable straws, even in hot drinks. I started looking closer and found none noted BPA-free, AND they all seemed to be made in China. (And what other chemicals or harmful things could be leaching from plastics that are not yet common knowledge?) 'Switched to glass straws, and I love them! ........................ Also less plastic going into the trash, and maybe even hurting animals down the line. I won't post links, but you have likely seen ways that plastic, even straws, have injured animals. ....................... They're easy to clean -- Rinsing the inside is usually all that seems to be needed, but many times I do use a bit of dish wash and the brush that came with the straws. The outside, I wash as I would any glass. Then use again, or let them air dry and put them away for later. After months of use, I've had no problem with them - no mold, ... One did get broken. Hummingbird Glass Straws readily replaced it, standing behind their guarantee. The only "problem" is that they are sometimes noisy as I walk, or drive, with them jingling in my glass or stainless steel water bottle. If this bothers you, you will like having them fit your Yeti (or whatever) top so that they don't move around much. (I use them in various containers, and they don't fit snug in some. I may come up with something to help that.) I will soon be buying more, this time for shorter glasses, and a set as a gift. I definitely recommend Hummingbird Glass Straws. (No, these were not offered at a discount. I am simply sharing my review.)

Plastic straws are out in businesses, so decided to try glass instead. Just arrived, wonderful. Both sizes fit my mugs! Will be ordering more sizes in different colors too, thanks :-). Note to seller - these were sent in a soft mailer package. All 4 tall straws were loose inside, as the inside package was open. Looked like someone stepped on package in route. The small straw package was open too, but those straws were wrapped in paper. None were broken! Surprised that this wasn't sent in a cardboard box :-). Glad they survived! Thanks!
