Fox Run Dough and Bowl Scraper, 4.75" Flat Edge Bench Scraper, Green

This is one of my favorite things for $6.00 (at the time (2022) I ever bought - it's a dough and bowl scraper, yes. but the kicker? I used it once for some bread making experiment thing my wife and I were doing but it has since been a staple in my "all purpose" drawer. A sort-of "Swiss army knife" for numerous things. This thing has removed 3M taped things on walls easer than dental floss, it scrapes the rivets of a grill with ease and burnt-on food from any surface, it gets little pieces of food or things that get stuck in little narrow openings (next to the oven, for example), it acts as a make-shift putty knife for small hole repairs (wash it quickly), it scrapes and breaks up ice from the interior of the freezer or vehicle windows, it pops out the underside of a baseboard or trim if needed (I've grabbed it for this and it worked perfectly), it opens boxes using the edges, it gets sticky residue off of countertops, I mean, the list goes on and on. It's easy to hold and grip, it doesn't scratch surfaces due to it's material, it has yet to break or bend. It's honestly probably my favorite "tool" that I own!

Let me start by stating the obvious: As others have clearly stated the "product description" dimensions are inaccurate. The 5.2 x 8.1 inches measurement is for the cardboard packaging, NOT for the scraper! The scraper is 4.75 x 4 inches. (Who's the doofus on the Amazon staff who writes up the product descriptions? Does anyone really care about the size of the packaging?) I know this is going to sound like I'm kvetching, and I realize that advertisers are given a certain amount of leeway in writing ad copy, but a "3 in 1 bowl scraper"? Yes, it's a bowl scraper if you use the green handle as the scraper. (The gray blade end will not work in a rounded bowl with a narrow bottom.) Yes, it's a cutter/cutting board scraper. (That's what the blade is for.) But a measuring guide? Yes, it is marked in inches (up to 4 1/2) on one side, and centimeters (up to 12) on the other; but there are only hash marks, no numbers. Marginally useful as a measuring guide. However, I bought this gadget for when I make bagels. So after the final time that I let the dough rise and I'm ready to cut it into pieces--voila!--I now have evenly cut pieces. It works so much better than when I tried using a knife. So is this scraper/cutter going to do everything I ask of it? Absolutely. Just make sure that you are aware of the actual size when you order, or you might be disappointed. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I have a stainless wood handled dough cutter/scraper that I love and use all the time, but a smaller, lighter, plastic model was recommended in the book "secrets of a Jewish baker"(which is great). I bought this one because it had a silicone edge that wouldnt scrape my stainless bowls. For this end, it works. It has measurements on both sides, inches on one side, centimeters on the other and it cuts dough ok(thin metal cuts better than mid thickness plastic). It handles better as a scraper than cutter. HOWEVER, if I was on a deserted island and could only choose one, my metal dough scraper would win, hands down. I am concerned with the durability of this product(will the silicone hold to the plastic? Will the plastic become brittle and crack in time?) and price-wise it is similar to my stainless cutter. So...if you need a plastic dough scraper that wont scratch your bowls, this is the one to buy, if you are simply looking for a dough cutter, I highly recommend a metal with wood handle(mine is a pizza dough cutter, but I use it for all doughs). Where this cutter does have the advantage is in the silicone scraper that wont damage my bowls(my dough cutter only has a flat side and therefore wont scrape a bowl, just a bread board) AND this scraper can be thrown in the dishwasher(however its simple to wash the metal, but this is real simple) Summarily, I believe there is room in the kitchen for both products(both fit easily in a drawer) as they each have advantages and disadvantages and each have uses in a bread bakers kitchen! I really like this scraper. It is a very handy kitchen tool. I use the straight edge to scoop food that I have chopped and the curved edge to scrape everything out of a bowl. I used to just scoop with my knife edge, but I usually leave behind chopped food and I have also endured cuts. I have this item close by when food prepping. The dimensions in the description are not correct. This scraper is 4.75 x 4 inches. I am very glad I purchased it.

We used to have a board scraper, which was bigger and metal with a wood handle and you could chop things with it and couldn't put it in the dishwasher. We never used it. The coating started flaking off in the drawer and I threw it away. I thought, eh, board scraper, who needs it. Then I saw this little one, and thought, well it's cheap, won't take up much space, and if we ever bother using it we can just throw it in the dishwasher... why not get it. We use it all the time! I bought a second one, and we use them both! Not at all what I expected, but it's just so much easier than using the side of the knife, or trying to scoop up chopped onions etc with our hands, or picking up our heavy wood cutting board. And you can get a giant scoop if you use both at once! Or use one for the raw meat and one for the veggies. Whatever. We like this thing. Haven't used it as a bowl scraper but I'm sure it works great for that too.

My fault, not exactly what I thought. So you don't make the same mistake, the scrapper is rather small and it is not flexible at all. Product is exactly as seller describes and scraper was delivered promptly. This we appreciate! I think it will last a good long time. I will use to pick up cut veggies on the cutting board to transfer to stove.

This is a great aid in the kitchen, dough cutter, great for lifting chopped veg off chopping board, great for chopping mince meat lumps to small pieces

It's a bit small but is a great multi purpose for people who like cooking, baking, etc. I use it mostly as food scraper. Easy to clean, even in dishwasher. Being made out of plastic and silicone, will last for long time.
