Works well. Pretty customizable schedule.
I'll tell you, the first time you start and stop your sprinklers from inside your house using your phone is a real kick. I decided to try one of these out, because I'm tired of spending the better part of a day moving the hose around the lawn to get good coverage. I started in the back yard, laying hose and putting out 3 Hunter bodies with MP Rotator heads. Then I connected them to this BTT timer, and it works like a charm. Now, I can water at ideal times of day without having to set the alarm clock for crazy time, and when it's time to overseed, it will be very easy to water for 10-15 minutes every morning with zero effort. It's like having a $3000 in ground system installed, but for a small fraction of the cost (although the sprinkler bodies and hoses are above ground - which makes them easier to maintain, so you decide if that is a plus or a minus for you). Bottom line, I'm happy and will be giving my front lawn and side yard the same treatment in the coming weeks, before the hot weather arrives. The app will connect to multiple timers. It also has a fair amount of flexibility for setting your scheduling, though it's not the most intuitive interface ever devised. However, if you are willing to dig through it, it can set a schedule based on days of the week, or on a cycle of days (water every 3 days for example, regardless of what day of the week it is). You can set up multiple run times during the day. You can set it to cycle periodically based on time rather than days (every 3 hours for example). You can also set it to cycle on and off over a defined window of time (run for 15 minutes, stop for 5, repeat, for two hours every morning for example). It rains often where I live (though accumulation is almost never adequate in a week) so this next feature is important: You can suspend the schedule for a selectable number of days. So if we get 1/2" of rain, I can suspend the schedule for 3 days, and it will return to it's normal program afterwards. Of course, you can run this manually, for a selectable period of time. You can also run it manually by physically pressing a button on the timer and it will run for an hour and shutoff automatically. There's probably more capability here, but that's what I've explored so far. A couple nice features in the interface: you can customize the name of each timer and for this model with two outlets, you can customize the name of each outlet (timer=back yard, zone 1=grass, zone 2=shrubs drip) and you can even add pictures to those zones so it's really easy to identify which area you are working with when programming. This does run on two AA batteries. I do not know what the battery life will be like, but after about 5 days running on rechargeables, they are down 2%, so you should have no problem getting a full season out of a set of batteries, especially if you aren't often connecting with the phone to fiddle with them. There are only a few minor things I'd like to see improve in the next generation of this product, or in future app updates: 1. I'd like the app to have a more intuitive design that uses a more plain language approach so that anybody can set their timers up without having to figure out what the different options mean. 2. I'd love to see a slightly more robust bluetooth transceiver on this. The range is limited. I believe the product says 30', but I lose connection about 20' away, and if I am inside, I need to be within about 10' to connect. I know this is a trade-off between battery life and range, but I'd be happy replacing the batteries every 2 months if I could sit on my recliner and connect to various timers on different sides of my house. Maybe another option would be to offer an accessory hub that plugs in somewhere in the house and can extend the signal reach. Overall, I'd say this is a major improvement over other programmable timers I've used, with more options and easier programming. Being able to suspend scheduling or manually water from inside the house is a godsend. Highly recommended.

Very well-made, solid tap timer with nice software features!
I bought two of these Hunter Tap Timers after carefully reading reviews and comparing them to competitor products. In almost all Tap Timers, failures eventually occur due to water infiltration into the electronics, or because of grit getting into the ball valve or solenoid. The Hunter BTT addresses these issues by removing the display and setup buttons typically found on competitor products, and moving everything to software on a smart phone, thereby keeping the main Tap Timer well-sealed. I did add a finer mesh screen at the inlet, since our local water has some sand issues, and I orient the device so the battery compartment is generally on the bottom (sheltered from rain and sprinkler water). Bluetooth is required, and it's an older Bluetooth, so limited to a working range of about 20 feet, but for most residential applications, that's fine. I'm able to stand at my kitchen sink, look out at the yard, and control my hose-driven sprinklers. The features in software include BTT battery level, signal strength, manual control override, and very precise "Run" (or "On") and "Soak" (or "Off") within a watering window, and this is great because it can help reduce run-off and over-watering. I set mine to have a daily primary window between 9 PM and 9:30 PM, running 3 days a week, but within that daily window it cycles 5 minutes "Run" and 5 minutes "Soak" for a total of 15 minutes of water. I drive each tap at about 60 PSI (with in-line flow regulators like those used for RV hookups), which is roughly 2.2 GPM based on garden hoses. Heading into fire season in California, I'm keeping the most critical trees and plantings alive on 429 gallons of water per month, or about 14 gallons per day per timer. (I have two timers, so about 29 gallons per day total. Math! Lol!) Prior to setting up the Hunter BTTs, we were averaging 90 gallons per day of total water use during the worst of the summer months. Using these schedules, we have reduced water use by 66% (two thirds!), and that helps everyone during the drought. One thing of note: The latest iOS (14.6) doesn't play well with the Hunter BTT app; the app tends to spontaneously abort and refuse to reconnect successfully. I'm hoping Hunter is updating the app soon, but in the meantime, I keep my old smartphone handy (iOS 12.5.3) for talking to old software in our house, and that works fine.

Rickety, problematic software and Bluetooth connection on my Android
Connection is lost if I move further than ~4 feet away. The 30' distance advertising claim is perhaps for more fully-featured cell phones than mine? But the connection's not as bad as the sense of dealing with a app that needs toughening. How long must one wait between saving set up commands? Why does one zone set up seem to delete the other? I've found that when I see that Zone 1 appears to have been set up as wanted, then moving along to program Zone 2, all bets are off. Zone 2 doesn't save a set up that's half an hour later than Zone 1, for example. At another try, the Zone 2 time settings and duration values all turned red, with no way to find out what I'd done wrong. Very rickety user experience. Factory Reset brought no response. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the "beta" version from Jan 3, 2020. We'll see if it manages to water both zones, as set up, in two days. Tried turning on Zone 2 manually to make up for it missing a watering. Now, the Zone 2 button on the unit is. apparently going to forever blink red. Nothing I've tried has stopped it. May cause shorter battery life, or just be irritating. This app needs, at least, some FAQ support. I would not wish this app on anyone.

Works, but not as described.
Like many reviewers have stated, this device has some nice functionality but suffers from big flaws. The first, as almost all have claimed: The bluetooth range is nowhere near what's claimed if you're indoors. The best I have gotten is about seven feet from the unit when installed. It's obviously using older BT tech so it can barely transmit through a wall. Outside the range is better but who wants to go to the unit to make adjustments? It's supposed to be convenient, but that's a hassle. 2) It doesn't update. Hunter appears to have new updates that may improve performance, but it never installs. It just begins to install, then stops. That's really poor support, Hunter. 3) The software is decent but needs improvement, and is S-L-O-W to respond. Not a huge deal, just one more negative about this device. Bottom line: I like the device, despite its significant flaws. I'll probably keep it because there's not much else in this price range that's better. Hunter needs to either improve the functionality, or lower the price to make customers more satisfied.

A Lifesaver for Arizona Summers!
I absolutely love this timer for running the misters in my chicken yard! It’s been a literal lifesaver during the Arizona summer heat. It’s easy to program, has been completely leak-free, and makes it so much easier to keep the misters on a reliable schedule. I’m very happy with it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

EASY SETUP! Reliable and solidly built.
This product does exactly what I needed and the setup and controls couldn't be simpler. It's fantastic and well built. I think the interface on the app is fine and really like the clean appearance of the device itself (it's not covered in buttons). The best feature is the flexibility in programming each zone through the app. The Bluetooth range is a little smaller than I expected (about a 15' to 20' radius), but not a big deal. Maybe on a device this expensive metal threads would have been more appropriate, but the plastic threads have held up well so far (just have to be careful with the hose connections).

Not worth the price
I really wanted these to work, the concept sounded convenient ....they are NOT . Very short blue tooth range (like 3 feet). Difficult to navigate the programs and because of having to use your phone app to run the program it's kinda a pain. I don't know about everyone else but my phone screen is very difficult to read in bright sunlight , and unless you want to disconnect the timer from faucet and bring in inside every time you want to change the program you will have to deal with phone screen issue in bright sunlight. to top it all off both of the 2 units we bought stopped working shortly after having them for a year and they were both disconnected and stored indoors with no batteries in them during off season. I decided we would be better off to just buy the cheaper programmable timers and replace them at the beginning of each season if needed, these were definitely a waste of money.

Blue tooth technology NOT WIFI
I agree with many of the 1 star reviewers that you have to be right on top of the unit for your phone to connect via blue tooth. That being said I'm not sure it really matters whether you are 32 feet or 5 feet from the unit in order to connect. Does that save you about 10 steps? The blue tooth connection doesn't work through walls for me so even though my faucet is just outside my living room window I have to go out and stand in front of the unit to get a connection. I bought this because we went on vacation for a week and we had just planted some bushes that I wanted to be watered heavily during this dry spell we have been experiencing. I had no problem setting the device up and connecting my soaker hoses. Pressure was fine for those hoses. I had people check on the device and it watered the bushes as I programmed with no glitch. I gave this a 3 star review because it really does nothing much more than a manual timer. It is not designed to allow you to change the programming remotely (like you can with a smart device via WIFI). I'm not going anywhere else this summer because of the virus and I imagine that I will be looking for a smart wifi device next summer. I did not see any such device when I bought this 6 weeks ago at least not with high enough review ratings that would encourage me to buy it.

Gutes Gerät
Ein Regensensoranschluss wäre schön oder eine WLAN fähige Version. Bisher eine Saison gelaufen.

Not for Australian fittings
You shouldn’t be selling this to the Australian market unless you are including the adaptors. They are ght threads not bsp.

Excellent irrigation units work in horizontal as well as vertical position
These work great. They work in horizontal position as well as vertical. Change battery in Spring once a year. I live in Scotland and leave them out all year, turn the tap off in winter of course. I have two that have been in operational for 4 years. I just purchased the dual one to add more irrigation to my south facing garden.
