Great small rechargable light
I bought this for a law enforcement duty backup on the recommendation of a co-worker. I wanted something small, discrete, lightweight, no sharp edges to snag clothes, LED, and easily rechargeable. I fashioned a pocket clip from an old Surefire flashlight I had and can carry this in my front slash hand pocket with ease. I place it on the recharger after every shift so it's fully charged for the next day. It's very bright and the front bezel slides in/out for a broad or narrow beam. Manipulating the rear on/off button can be a tiny bit tricky one-handed if you want to double-click for strobe, or hold in for a dim setting. That said though, it's still a great backup to carry that doesn't take up much space, doesn't have to go into a belt holster, and is very bright for use. The charging dock for it works great on a desktop or in a locker, and can be plugged into a standard 12v charger in a vehicle. A bonus of that is that I can take it on vacation with me and plug it in our popup camper to make sure it stays charged at night. The only complaint I have with it is the wrist lanyard. The part of the lanyard that attaches to the light itself is a very narrow band and mine broke after a couple of months of use. It started to fray and once that began, there was no going back. One day it just gave up the ghost and went in the garbage. That's not a life-ender however. This is a great flashlight, is very very bright, very small, and easy to carry. I'd recommend it.

Worth Every Penny!
UPDATE: August 2018. I still have the same flashlight, same battery. The paint is all about gone but the light is still blindingly bright and holds a charge for a long time. At one point the button was getting sticky so I took it apart and cleaned it. It's been fine ever since. Don't let the price tag scare you, this thing is worth every penny. I am an engineer on a drilling rig. I use this flashlight countless times daily. I charge it up weekly and it's only died on me once but I had it on continuously for a long time. Its small enough that it fits perfectly in the pen-pocket on the sleeve of my coveralls. It's bright enough that I can light up the top of the derrick from main deck, or illuminate an entire ballast tank. I've dropped it several times from heights up to 10ft and it hasn't missed a beat. Three other crew members have already ordered them after trying out mine.

Awesome light and its tiny.
I bought this P5R cause i wanted an extremely bright flashlight and i needed it to be small enough to fit in my pocket. Well its extremely bright. For sure as advertised its more than 200 lumens. Compared to the Led Lenser P14 i have, this one is brighter. The fact that it uses one rechargeable AA size battery is also cool. It's very light. At just a bit shy of 4 inches it fits perfectly in your pocket and it doesn't weigh much so you dont feel like your carrying it much. The down side is that the manufacterer claims a 3 hr run time on full blast i was only able to keep it on for 1.5 hrs. And it starts dimming down during that time. Doesn't stay consistently bright for the time. The low setting is pretty bright. It says its 15 lumens but i think its brighter. Not sure how long low setting lasts. But this light is perfect for me. Update: 10/23/2014 P5r is still going strong. It dims slightly sometimes for a moment but it always turns on and most importantly it stays on. Most of the black paint has rubbed of but thats the least of my worries. The run time on the rechargeable battery is still roughly the same. I use this thing pretty much everyday for short periods of time, usually looking for stuff and at work to illuminate dark places. This flashlight is always on me. Its very useful walking at night in the low setting. I usually charge it every week to every other week depending on usage.

the best pocket light on the market today
This is the finest flashlight I'v ever known, It can clip to the bill of a ball-cap, shine out and light up eyes up to 250 yards! It can light up an entire gym. I recomend an extra battery and a car charger if you'll be using it for service work as I do. I dont recomend it for your primary long term light sorce due to battery life on high beam. But I use mine every day. It has the power to shine past a daylit surface into pitch black, It is literally 10 times brighter than my 4 D-cell mag-lite. It will however die instantly and leave you stranded so carry a slow burn-out AA back-up use and/or changing batteries but it's re-chargable, and a great gift for a serviceman or "man of the house". Find a retail outlet to find the perfect LED LENSOR light for you. You'll pay more but get a lifetime warrenty and learn a little somethin' while your there. I bought a replacement here because I gave mine to a cowboy, huntin' buddy farmer who hates the city and the internet (except their "women and gadgets")

Nice flashlight, bright, but a few ns
It's a great flashlight. Super bright and handy. But I wouldn't say 3 hours on a charge. I would say only expect an hour to 1 hour 30 minutes. It does get hot on extended use. I thought I read that you could use a regular battery in an emergency if it went dead. you can't, if you were curious. I found that out firefighting at night and it was less than ideal. But that was my fault for not double checking that it could be done before hand. While the recharge is handy sometimes, it seems like it will show charged, but not last very long. Make sure you have another great battery backup if you need to rely on it. Sole reason I like the old P5 better. Pop a new AA battery in and good to go.

Wow! What a great flashlight!
This is just the very best flashlight I've ever owned. It is so bright that sometimes I have to use the lower setting to use it. The other night I was across the highway, (A four lane highway with a truning lane in the center,) from a lighted car lot. I was showing my friend my little flashlight. I shined the light on the cars across the highway and the lights on the cars reflected my flashlight like their lights were on! My friend said that I'd better quit shining my light across the highway or I'd get in trouble for shining lights on cars going by. Durning the day I can shine it on lighted florescent lights, lighted walls and lamps and I can see the circle of light from my flashlight. It's just so bright it's amazing it is so small and light. The only trouble I've had is learing how to use the on/off switch. It takes practice to get the lower light level and the flashing mode turned on. Once learned it's not a problem to operate at all. Charges easily but I've yet to have the battery go dead. I charge it every two weeks just in case.

great little flashlight - the light that could
This is a great little light. Very sturdy aluminum housing, simple and robust charger. This one is build like a tool, nothing fancy to look at, more like utilitarian. But the light output is fascinating, the light just fits easily into your hand (regular sized hands, big hands might find it too small). The case this light came with is little over the top and overkill in my personal opinion. I carry my light in my pocket or with the included belt carrier, not in a mini suitcase. BTW, the belt carrier is a very simple piece of plastic, but it grips the light very tight and holds it reliably in place. The swivel allows you to aim the light on your belt and work with both hands. I would definitely recommend this light to everybody looking for a strong and small light. If you need a flashlight for personal defense, go for something much bigger.

Great light. Small and bright. The button is a little tough to push but still like it.
