1994 reissue on A&M of their 1978 double live LP for the label, with all 17 original tracks on one CD! Recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon, London, in November of 1977, itfeatures 'White Punks on Dope', 'Don't Touch Me There' and'Show Me a Reason'. Double slimline jewelcase. Review: Please touch me here. - The band at the height of their decadence, this is a stunning document of the band that truly has to be seen to be believed. With the 9(!) person lineup as well as backup dancers, this was recorded during their run at the Hammersmith Odeon and man this s%@t is good. From tracks such as "What Do You Want From Life?" and "Mondo Bondage" to the "Overture" and "Crime Medley" sections which throw in an impressive assortment of musical numbers to a staggering cover of "I Saw Her Standing There" which actually fuses The Damned's "New Rose" with the Beatles classic. If you're a fan of complex and fun music then your prayers have been answered. This is a truly inspired record and a great document of a band that is STILL great today. Review: Great CD! - I owned this in all of its previous forms (vinyl, 8-track, & cassette) so I’m happy to finally have the CD. I don’t have my original vinyl to compare it to, but I’m pleased with the sound quality. It’s one of my all-time favorite live albums!

The Tubes Live are Punks at their best.
The album is in good shape and sounds very good. It was so good to hear them again nearly 50 years later.

Superb Show - Missing 2 Minutes
This was/is truly a great live album with a great capture of the Tubes' theatrical rock & fun. The Tubes milked everything out of themselves and the audience in this show and they laid it down superbly on record. One thing captured especially well was the finale sequence of Stand Up And Shout/White Punks On Dope, which builds slowly to a wonderfully delirious frenzy that left no energy unspent. And, thus, the reason for the reduction by one star on this otherwise 5-star CD release. The CD version, in order to fit onto one CD, cut out about 2 minutes from the LP and about 1 minute of that is out of this final sequence. Now, most of what was cut was audience response between songs and the final fade, something that would never had been missed had it never been captured on LP. But as the rest of the record shows, the between-song energy is part of the show and the full LP version has that extra piece of build-up of excitement to the fantastic finale - so the CD is somewhat a lesser experience than on the LP. Given that it is the only CD release of this great album, I of course have it and still highly recommend it because it still sounds great. I would also love to see any deluxe release of this show that at least could restore the full 2 LP version, but in the meantime, I leave the mp3 of my LP on my player instead of the CD. This may be a nit, but I thought it useful to give at least a heads up since I did not see anyone else make mention of the missing time. It does keep me on the lookout for any restoration of the full original 2LP version.

Don't wait too long to buy older recordings
This is a great live album by one of the most unique bands I have seen in a while. I had the album and never got around to buying the CD and had to get a copy from the UK, which was great, albeit more $$ than I wanted to spend for an album 43years old. I am grateful to now have my own copy. It came intact, sooner than promised and like I said, do not wait. I paid 19.00 dollars and if it were available here in the US AND re-released, it might be less. It is amazing to see what stuff sells for especially if it is old by a band that was not selling out arenas. WPOD.

Great CD.
It was shipped quickly and very well packaged. I have the LP but wanted the CD too. Brings back some great memories! The TUBES shows were just crazy fun.

A very fine Tubes recording
I first heard this album in the late 70's when it came out. I played the grooves right off of it! It was one of my favorite albums. Flash forward 30+ years later - I hadn't listened to it in decades when I decided to purchase the disc in anticipation of seeing The Tubes in San Diego in June 2010. They were awesome and I forgot how many great tunes they composed. I play the What do you Want From Live? album while I work and drive. It's still a great album. Love The Tubes, Love their music and love their shows!
