After coming out of a boot for three months, this active ankle was a welcome relief. I could not afford another Jones Fracture, and I had complete faith that this device would keep my ankle stabilized. It was my go-to since our nationally ranked women’s collegiate basketball players always wore the Active Ankle Brace.

I bought this to use while driving. My medical brace I got made custom by Hanger Orthotics works but I have some limitations in ankle movement I have noticed recently. This likely does not provide as much support, but works better than a wrap would and is less bulky that custom braces are. I do find that I need to wear tall socks for comfort.

For being listed as a "rigid" support, it is not as rigid as I had hoped. I have it fit per the instructions and as tight as i could get it. In normal walking the support is okay. for anything beyond that, I dont suspect this will hold up to much. It is though, much more comfortable than I suspected. Edit: a few hours after the above post I went for a bike ride. As my ride was wrapping up I jumped up onto a curb and "looped-out". While I was "looping-out" I planted my feet to catch myself, although much lower than I normally would. When I planted my feet, my ankle collapsed in the brace. Please note that I am not reducing its rating but rather I am raising It to 4 stars. It is true that no matter how much external support you have, it will NOT stop things like this from happening. It willing only reduce the risk. Now, the reason I am giving it an extra star is because if I did not have it i would not have made it to the hospital as easily as I did. My diagnosis was that I broke my fibula, fractured my ankle, and separated the membrane between my tib and fib. This required surgery. When I lifted my ankle without the brace it literally flopped over. The brace held me together until I could get to the hospital. I am also absolutely certain that the damage would have been much worse if I was not wearing it.

This brace is great for stabilizing weak or injured ankles. I have the expensive custom one that this is modeled after (Ritchie Brace) and I think I prefer this one because it fits better in my shoe. It is a little less sturdy plastic and probably won't hold up to years and years of use, but for the price it's great. Really makes a big difference in my PTTD. Offers great support and is easy to wear all day (with a sock under it). Easily adjusts to fit larger or smaller legs.

Recommended by doctor for tendon/navicular foot problem Very comfortable and supportive I got black n white one . I would not buy white if you do any outdoor activity's like gardening. Wear with knee highs or calf hi sox as legs will get sweaty rubbing on brace Easy to put on , size was correct

This brace is sturdy and appears to be built well. The design seems over complicated in the sense that while it is usable on either left or right foot, you have to move the straps around to switch feet. Moving the straps is overall, not a big deal, it just seems like it could just as easily be designed symmetrically. No complaints on the upper part of the brace, it is comfortable on the leg and doesn't feel any hotter than expected. I bought this brace because the brace I wanted, the Breg Ultra High Five, was $70 and this one was significantly cheaper. All said and done, I think I would have rather spent the extra on the Breg Ultra. The Ultra seems sleeker- I wore it for years playing sand volleyball inside Vibrams and it fit fine. Within a week of wearing this brace, it ripped my Vibrams coming out of the mouth of the shoe... This brace also has a discomfort in the arch of my foot, on the inside right in front of the heel. All in all, if you are only wearing this brace occasionally, it is acceptable, and appears to be just as sturdy as more expensive braces. However, if you are going to spend any significant amount of time in them, my recommendation would be the Breg Ultra.

My weak ankles finally feel safe and my confidence in playing hard has increased. The initial discomfort is worth it as it breaks in.

This helped my 13 yo daughter from rolling her ankle in volleyball, takes a bit of getting used to, but it does its job really well.

it is waste.Does not serve the purpose. The velcro goes off very soon. Lower metal does not support the whole body weight as there is no good possible grip .even it does not support on walking then think about jumping etc. Yet to design properly
